Sunmi pulls off the Cat Woman concept so well, I was so surprised to see the scenes mirroring Batman Returns having watched the movie earlier this year.
Was it batman returns? Thought it was cat woman (halle berry's)? Haha

@@jomakwee Batman Returns (1992) catwoman was Michelle Pfeiffer. The scene where she gets pushed out of the window and gets revived by cats were the scenes we see in Tail.

About the choreography parts they do live, the chair part was changed to music shows (which was kinda predictable) and we could only see the full version on the studio choom video, but for the other parts of the choreo she does it all haha
I think she did full version with chair on comeback showcase.

I absolutely love all the moves that symbolize a "tail", like at 4:09, 4:44 and the end. It's just so creative! Sunmi has such unique and interesting moves in her choreographies, I absolutely love them. Some of them seem odd, out of place, unfitting, and yet.. they fit her so perfectly.
im not sure how accurate this is but i saw someone mention that she contacted/requested to work with Janelle Guinstra, the choreographer of seulgi and irene's monster, and asked her to help her incorporate those feline/animal-like movements into the choreography!
@@ella-pi2tk it’s true, janelle did work on the choreo - if you peep the credits at the end of the studio choom video, it mentions her as one of the choreographers!
Love Kevin’s point about how the instrumental sounds dangerous, I think the vocals kind of balance it out with how Sunni sounds teasing or seductive but there are all these unsettling elements mixed in.
yes, i always feel unsettling listening to this song, because i feel good but something isnt right. when kevin pointing that the instrumental sounds dangerous, the unsettling feeling make sense haha ^^

Tail is very reminiscent of sunmis old songs like full moon and 24 hrs so it was awesome to see umu immediately find that parallel!!! Loved the reaction so much tail is such a great song

The thing is, even though it's the choreo and everyone else is doing it too, Sunmi's moves (in all her songs, not just this) are kind of---spazzy? They are so quick and sharp that I'm left wondering if she was on the beat or not and if I saw right or what. It goes well with her slightly dark moods and her often a little crazy expressions, with he hair all over the place (Kevin, Sunmi's hair practically had its own practice room) and the kind of thinner, breathy and breathless vocals she has.

Yeaaaaaaaaaah!!!! Same I also thought of "24 Hours" but also "Full Moon" because of the melody and the way she is entrancing us in a dangerous and sexy way. But "Tail" is a an evolution as well with the way she plays with her voice in a "crazy" vibe.

AHH great call on the Eurythmics! I knew the 80s synths sounded familiar 😊 Also great call comparing 24 Hours to Tail. It does share some similarities. Check out her song What the Flower from this EP. I found the soulful R&B vibe totally new and unexpected from her 😁

Interesting reference to "24 hours"! Thanks, didn't even recall it despite hearing Tail perhaps over 20 times... :D compound meter is very "action filmy" and the combo with the running synth melody -- seems like a nod to her own history. Sunmi seems really sincere about developing her own discography and style.
This is why I love this team (including our CJMR crew) They can honestly say if it’s not in their usual palette, but they still have positive things to say about it.

After seeing a reaction to Sunmi, I really want to see a reaction to "CHUNG HA 청하 'Gotta Go (벌써 12시)", even though it was from 2019. I also recently am hooked with the song, "Merry Go Round" by Sokodomo ft. Zion T., Wonstein which was more released through a hip hop music program called "Show Me The Money" I believe (I'm not sure because I don't watch it). But I also hope to see a reaction of it.

I don't know a lot about music/musicality (besides the stuff I learned from watching your channel), but there's something very catchy about most of Sunmi's songs. She has this very recognizable sound, yet her songs don't sound too similar.

Yeah, I immediately thought of "24 Hours" as well, when I heard "Tail". They definitely have the same'ish vibes and sounds. "Tail" is probably a little bit more faithful to an 80's electropop sound, or maybe with a touch of 90's pop in terms rhythm.
