- The 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix started off with a bang and ended with a bang. Charles Leclerc crashed out on the formation lap due to a hydraulics failure, and Kevin Magnussen and Alex Albon were out before even completing the first corner via a three-car collision. Afterwards, Mercedes went backward in the race showing absolutely horrible straight-line pace and not giving encouraging signs for what's to come in Vegas. Fernando Alonso took a last-gasp podium for Aston Martin, holding off Sergio Perez for the better part of 10 straight laps before getting overtaken on the penultimate lap by the Red Bull. However, Alonso overtook Perez on the final lap to take third place behind a record-breaking Verstappen and Lando Norris for McLaren.

Anyroad, considering how well Mercedes was doing, those were some valuable points.
The fight for second place between Perez and Alonso was truelly a sight to behold.

I was heartbroken when Alonso overtook Checo in that last lap. He had fought so hard to overtake Alonso. Checo would've been able to beat Alonso if Red Bull had given him the same car as Max.
I would have been perfectly content if Perez took 3rd, especially if he won the drag race. But I was rooting for Alonso the whole way

Did Ferrari ever say what happened to Charles?
Hydraulic issue so he lost all power steering and then the engine shut off locking his rears causing the spin :/
He did say it wasn't hydraulic issue but he can't say what actually happened. So, no. Whatever it is, Ferrari are trying to hide it.
