Yes! It worked amazing in about a minute. I realized I wasn’t putting enough tension on. Funny story, I tried all 10,000 possible combinations by going through them one by one but I must have missed it up somewhere. Thank you for this tutorial it worked great!

@@pentatopComment You're looking for the wheel of numbers with the most tension to start with, and then on that wheel, you're looking for the number that the mechanism turns through more easily than the others. Then find the next wheel with the most tension, and repeat. I had a couple of false starts, but once I found the right wheel to start on, the feeling through the shackle was very noticeable when I got to the correct number.

Great stuff, this allowed me to resuscitate some old lock I have for which I forgot the combination. The confusing part was that my lock allows me to "press" the dials, so I thought pressing them is required to open, but in reality it isn't, it works just like the lock in the video. I'm proud I managed to pick this simple lock.
Your instructions on finding my 4 dial combo lock instructions worked like a charm to the point that I know now how insecure it is. 😁

Found an old padlock I haven't used in 7 years, completely forgot what the code was, I tried a series of possible combinations that seemed familiar and nothing worked.

Thanks for the info! I found a black 4 digit padlock exactly like the one you show in the video, it was open but wouldn't close without the correct combination, so I pressed the lock down to find the code and it also worked! It's now set to 0-0-0-0 and available in case I need it to lock something unsafely 🙂
This is the best video for this problem. Took me less than a minute to unlock my combination zipper lock. Other videos in other channels were just a waste of time. Thanks man

I solved a problem with my new travel suitcase. A shop assistant gave me a 30% discount since she thought the lock malfunctioned. At that time, it didn't bother me because the zipper had loops for an optional padlock. Back home, I found an instruction leaflet in my new suitcase regarding a lock, and only then did I realize she hadn't read them at all.

Wow! I had a combo lock and forgot the password and have been playing with it as a puzzle, going from 0000 all the way to 1090 turning the wheel once until I got the right number. I decided to watch this video and was able to open up my lock! Amazing.

I have a brinks 3 digit lock and set a number accidentally when setting a new number. Hand slipped smh. Was almost deterred by Google search saying a code can't be reset if forgotten. well, if a thieve actualy wanted to stole something with this lock he would just break the lock and take it, so I don't think this actually change something, and the other tipe of lock can be opened even faster with the tolls

Worked for me but took like ten minutes. I had one of these locks on one zipper of my luggage for years bc I forgot the combination. I offered the luggage to someone else and wanted to remove the lock so the zipper can move easier. I was so surprised this actually worked for me!!

Our kid was playing with the lock in the morning and we then locked our almirah.. but we’re unable to open the lock with the regular code.. not knowing if our kid unknowingly changed the lock code, we used your method optimistically and were able to open the lock.. he had unknowingly changed the code while playing.. thank you :)
It worked! I accidentally reset the combination, and your method solved the combination. (I accidentally reset the combo by one digit) Now I can use my lock again.

Keeping tension on my shackle locks my dials and stops them from rotating. All the tension feels the same, and i know this because i know what the combination actually is, so i can directly compare the feel of the dials when its correct compared to when its incorrect.

The next wheel to turn should be the next binding one whichever that one is not necessary the next in line. Also locks like this have false gates which give the effect you have the right number just continue using the next binding technique and eventually you will have all wheels in the correct order. Mine definitely has false binding pins, because keeping tension on the shackle stops the dials from rotating at numbers I know to be incorrect.
@dhvsheabdh you need to apply just enough tension to indicate the wheel not so they lock. It's not easy but with practice it can be done. Good luck 👍

Oh yea, it works. I have 2 locks with 3 digits and I haven't used them for a long time, and also forgot codes. So I tried doing what you did and it worked C:
I figured out easier method is to apply the pressure and see if the 2 bottom pins rotate freely. Then you know its the wrong number. As soon as the second pin gets "stuck" you know the forst number is correct. Then repeat for the second one.
Agreed! This is a better technique that doesn't rely on such fine sensitivity. It's far easier to. eliminate incorrect numbers one by one this way starting at the top

Good video. Just wanted to know what the make of the lock is at 2:28 that you demonstrate with. I have the same looking lock which is in an open position and I don't know the combination but I want to reset it. Can this be done?
It's a lot harder to do on a cheap lock that's loose (but not quite open) at every # to begin with.
