You could react to the group The Warning, who despite their ages, 18, 20 and 23, are already considered the best rock band in Mexico. They participated in the Metallica Blacklist, they have 2 songs in the ROCKBAND game, they attended Berklee college of music on scholarships. They have opened for Def Leppard, The Killers, Foo Figthes, Guns N Roses and recently MUSE, on their tour of Mexico. They are scheduled for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, in Germany and are expected to tour Europe.
Thanks for the reaction to our late Juan Gabriel’s performance. In Mexico he is known for his spectacular shows, but most of all because he was an amazing songwriter. For this particular video, he is accompanied by his own mariachi band and The National Symphonic Orchestra at the Palace of Fine Arts of Mexico. A renowned and exclusive venue where only the very best in classic arts are allowed to perform (e.g. opera, ballet, music). The government was not amused to allow him to perform there, but it was the people who requested that he sang there. So, he was the first popular artist to perform at this venue. In fact, he performed there 3 times! 1990, 1997, and 2013. Something that no one else has done ever, before or after him. This video is from his first presentation in 1990. We lost him too soon, but the legacy of his music and the lyrics of his songs will be forever.

@@maripilisenderos3710 No, that is not true. In the case of Juan Gabriel, it was certainly the people in Mexico who requested him singing there. The government had to abide. Do not misinform with all that nonsense.
In the case of the singer Manuel Mijares, it was indeed Angelica Rivera, Peña Nieto’s wife who pressed her influences to have her friend Mijares singing there as if the Palace of Fine Arts was a party venue. People in Mexico was not happy about that and Rivera’s and Mijares’ action was heavily criticized. Mijares sang there once, totally undeserved. Juan Gabriel sang there 3 times, highly acclaimed!

Juan Gabriel, such an amazing song writer and performer in stage, it is an icon. Also, another recommendation, check the song 'El Triste' sang by José José, it basically translate as 'The Sad One', the live version on OTI, basically one of the most important song contests in latin america at the time, is one of the most impressive vocal performances.
Also, what's behind him is a full Mariachi band, I know how much people in the internet joke about mariachis, but the traditional Mariachi music is so incredibly beautiful, all the string and brass instruments together make impressive songs.

Juan Gabriel is one of my favorite Mexican artists, even though he's not from my generation. Not being able to go to one of his concerts is a big regret of mine 😭 so there's so many songs I love that I want you to listen to... starting with "Amor Eterno", "Te Sigo Amando", "Abrázame Muy Fuerte", "Se Me Olvido Otra Vez" 😂 I'd easily list half his discography...

Juan Gabriel fue un incríble talento en nuestro país, en esta pieza musical lo acompañó uno de los mejores mariachis (aunque no estoy segura si fue el Marichi Alma de Juárez o el de Mi tierra) y la gran Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, los arreglos musicales fueron del maestro Eduardo Magallanes, también el mejor de nuestro país. What a incredible reaction to “ El Divo de Juárez” our Juan Gabriel, he trascended with His music for generations in Mexico and always will be remembered as one of the most productive singer, author, show man in our country .
I remember when he did an all night concert from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am with Veronica Castro in “ Mala Noche No” the students in Mexico did not went to class the next morning. Amazing! Viva México 🇲🇽

Juan Gabriel is a Mexican icon. Truly, hands down. He composed and arranged his own songs, just a a real musical talent. Lots of ppl suffered after his passing. Very similar to Fredy Mercury and many talented musicians, he was one of a kind. Thanks for covering this. You should also try Vicente Fernandez, which is another mariachi, drunken “karaoke” favorite amongst Mexicans.

He is one of the most respected Latino artist of all time. His song are always a hit. Many artist have song his songs. He had a long career. "Amor Eterno" might be your next reaction. One of his favorite was Rocio Dúrcal she has a long time friend and singer from Spain who sang Mexican music. The reaction you gave was just the best presented in the Palace of bellas artes in the city of Mexico. This is the climax of his career in my opinion thus he reason of the amazing performance. We can't be more proud of our genius composer and singer as people who knew him called him Juanga, forever I love him 💯💌🙏💕

I had known him all of my life because my uncle was one of the first people to give him an opportunity in the music industry. I got to live in one of his homes for a while and I even got to wear that jacket! At the time, I didn’t know how privileged I was to have been able to be a part of his world. He truly was a musical legend and a lyrics genius but most importantly, he was a beautiful, genuine, humble and kind soul. The world lost a great one when he passed and he will forever be missed. For us Mexicans, he is a part of us all.
Juan Gabriel was born to perform. I can think of no one else that could have an orchestra, a mariachi and backup singers and still be the center of attention for so many reasons......

Juan Gabriel leaded the band, the orchestra, the set, lights , sound engineers, ALL , people needed to be focused on what was he doing in stage in order to follow him up, he could change the performance if he wanted to do !!, a legend, he wrote more than 1500 songs and others apparently were not copyrighted, if not the best one of the best Mexican songwriters, a legend composing music !!! Timeless music and his legacy will continue for generations, in my opinion the BEST MEXICAN PERFORMER! So many legends were born in Mexico 🇲🇽

Juan Gabriel was huge in the 60s in Mexico 🇲🇽 my mom and dad are huge fans and I grew up with his music, I had the opera to see him live in Hollywood California live in concert it was an amazing experience. I was 20 then I’m 36 now. May Juan Gabriel rest in peace

Juan Gabriel, the most prolific composer in Mexico, a great composer, was a performer and a showman. At that time, for me, he was at the peak of his career, with maturity and an incredible voice. His compositions already fused various styles clearly and with great taste. That was, if not the first, one of the first times that “popular” music entered the Palacio de Bellas Artes, where “cult” music, opera, classical music, etc. was normally played. That is why he decided to do a concert with special, long versions and with several spaces to improvise. For me it is a masterpiece. In this, as in some others, he reflects very well the idiosyncrasy of the Mexican, tragedies are transformed into something happy or at least not sad, he dances it, sings it and thus at least vents those feelings. I recommend that you listen to "Eternal Love" (Amor eterno) from that same concert and if you can read the translated lyrics. It's good that you liked it 🤘🏻 Juan Gabriel Rocks! RIP

Great!! One of the most important artist from Mexico for hole the world. He died a few years ago but his legacy is eternal. One of his iconic concerts is just the one you share. He was a great composer, musician, arranger, producer...a show man!
