I like how you pointed out the fact he removed his sombrero during the song. This is a great sign humility/respect, especially for mariachi. The lyrics during those parts sing of being humble and accepting a loss, however wanting to come back stronger/better from that loss. Another great reaction. Thanks!

Well, honestly you started with very high talented Mexican musicians. Vicente Fernandez is considered the King of Ranchero music, and even two of his sons are singers. Alejandro Fernandez often sings mariachi music, but is more inclined to pop music. Vicente Fernandez Jr is more ranchero music. Vicente Fernandez even produced and stared in movies.
If you still want to react to Mexican artists, react to Jose Jose with the song "El Triste". It's a different kind of music, very common in the 1970s Mexico.

*EL REY DEL MARIACHI* .... Welcome to our Mexican heritage Luke, our parties don't begin until a Vicente Fernandez song is played. There is a story that in the beginning of his career he played a small open arena of 5K people, the venue lost power so no sound system, the manager said just end everything, but Vicente said NO he would go ahead and sing with no mic and his voice amplified so loudly the people in the very back could still hear him clearly. His son and grandson are also singers. Please don't think this is the only music out of Mexico, there are so many genres. Suggestion:
    - "El Rey" En Vivo by *Vicente Fernandez*
    - "Llorona " by *Angela Aguilar* (she is Mexican entertainment royalty, her whole family are recording artists grandparents (also actors), father, brother, cousin)

It's true, the instruments are telling a story, and the voice must be another instrument, not just for story telling, but to direct the song. and the attitude comes with the Mariachi persona. Also the lyrics go with the music, if you get a chance to get a translation, it adds-up to the sentiment.

As a Mexican American, our music doesn’t seem to have much cultural export outside of the southern USA. Glad to see you enjoy it! I recommend listening to Grupo Firme for a different genre as well

My dad's family lives very close to his ranch in huentitan Jalisco.we used to walk over and try to sneak in the fence. 😆 he was one of the greatest mariachi singers of all time. Rip. I left a suggestion for Mexican rock reaction.
Caifanes are very unique. They are still actively touring. they were my favorite band growing up and still are. I almost saw them in concert in Portland, Oregon usa, but due to finances, I had to choose between one ok rock and them and for obvious reasons OOR won. I saw caifanes back when I was young. I hope you react to them. Thank you again for your reactions. You are my favorite.❤️

I must add: this falling in love reaction is clearly the objective of this song. The lyrics are asking the girl to let him back into her arms, so after those vocals OF COURSE you are letting him back! panties drop asap! The guy is the quintessential mariachi charmer! That voice could charm you into anything!

I am not from mx but from Colombia, but I think we feel rancheras almost as our own, from so much love we have for them. It is extremely difficult to choose one singer, so I have decided to go song by song instead of singer by singer. Thus, I have found that at least 3 of my top 5 rancheras songs are from Vicente Fernandez, he is masterful. "Mujeres Divinas" is by far my favorite song. You might wnat to give it a try, but with the lyrics on hand... they are worth it!

It's the first time I see someone on youtube reacting to Mexican music and getting those sparkly eyes. I know you appreciate the beauty and truly feel the music, you are open to emotions. I recognize that in your eyes because It's the same as mine every time I listen to music from my country. As a Mexican myself, I'm very proud and I want to thank you for appreciating it as much as you do ❤

Vicente Fernandez was from the time of my parents. My grandma listened to this type of music on the radio every day. He was so different from Juan Gabriel. Volver means "come back Come back. This is traditional ranchero mariachi music. Vicente Fernandez was even in some Spanish language movies. Even though I am a second generation Mexican, this still gets me in the bones!

I loved your reaction to this song, this is one of México's most beloved singer. The reaction you had of him singing without the mic was awesome, he used to completely turned it off at his concerts and everyone at the venue was able to hear him clearly. The most wonderful experience you can have. He had a powerful voice.

In a Juan Gabriel video I commented that there is such a thing called Palenque stage, probably the roughest stage for a mexican singer because of the "non educated" but really demanding audiences, similar in a sense to an Apollo theater audience; baptism by fire. Vicente Fernandez became famous by saying "mientras no dejen de aplaudir, su Chente no deja de cantar" (as long as you don't stop applauding, your Chente doesn't stop singing). He once said it to his audience in a Palenque and he always kept his word, even singing up to 4 hours in a row. A great, if not the greatest, mariachi mexican singer ever. Truly missed.
Btw, he was farewelled in a public memorial with his family and famous sons that sung his songs to an audience of loving and loyal fans in Guadalajara. You can find the videos on youtube as well.
