AI played with prime Melo too... Didn't even get close to winning any championships. Ppl don't seem to understand that basketball is a 5 on 5 game and just bcos one can be considerably a better individual player, doesn't mean that their play will suit him or his teammates to build a championships-winning basketball. Curry is probably up there at the very top as the easiest superstar to co-exist with if you wanna aspire for championships after championships. Basically pair him with another stars or two, and your team is almost a lock to get to the finals or winning championships. His trait that he doesn't need the ball at all to impacting the game in his team's favor is so valuable. And I think ppl don't quite grasp such principles yet. Guys like Luka, Harden, AI, Melo who can only affect the game by holding the ball and tend to get lazy and passive when they're off-ball, for me that ain't gonna cut it if their aspiration is to win championships and not just personal stats.

Iverson was great, but the narrative that the 76ers were worthless is CAP.. they were the number one seed and that team was built specifically for AIs playstyle. They had the defensive player of the year, 6th man of the year and coach of the year. Kidd went to the finals 2x with similar or less and nobody hails him for it.

Curry and AI are so different. - 2000s defenses had to worry about AI breaking ankles to get to the rim or an open spot inside the perimeter. Kobe and others described him as "relentless", "he would never stop coming at you". - 2010s defenses had to guard Curry starting at the logo and they had to deny him the ball or pray it didn't go in. Curry's constant off-ball movement and GS's screens would create lapses in the defense that created scoring opportunities for Klay and others.
âââto say Iverson did it alone is idiotic.Mutumbo was DPOY and a great rebounder along with protecting and holding down the paint. During that era the paint was prime real estate as the game was played inside out. Aaron Mckee was 6moty off the bench that year. If you were alive or watched during that time you should remember the East was really weak during that time. The road to the finals was easy being in the East all the heavyweight and legit teams played out west; Lakers, Spurs, Kings ect.. the Western conference finals winner would basically go on to win and smash the East. 76ers had great defenders and thing they lacked was additional scoring outside Iverson.

Bron & Curry got these new players spooked đł

During that era the paint was prime real estate as the game was played inside out. Aaron Mckee was 6moty off the bench that year. If you were alive or watched during that time you should remember the East was really weak during that time. The road to the finals was easy being in the East all the heavyweight and legit teams played out west; Lakers, Spurs, Kings ect.. the Western conference finals winner would basically go on to win and smash the East. 76ers had great defenders and thing they lacked was additional scoring outside Iverson.
