When I saw they've released new song, I noticed some reaction channel with title like "Electric Callboy is getting serious?" - and since I was still vibing with their crazy fun songs, I waited some time before I listened to it.
But MAAAN, when I finally did.. I LOVED IT!❤ Thankfully the song isn't relatable to me, but its grooviness is out of this World! The intensity of breakdown is insane, and I just loved what David does on drums 😍 Especially, each chorus with drums getting more and more intensive is such a treat!
Now it's time for "Parasite" 😅
Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend! 😊

I have never liked this kind of singing (scream voices) but there is something about their sound that seems so much better than most of the bands in the genre. And, then when you get to their funny songs it just takes them over the top. By far one of my favorite bands/groups now! They just do it all so well!!!

Same for me! I used to like just some lighter metal songs - like "Unforgiven", but usually didn't like typical screamo. The most I could handle and like was Guano Apes with "Lords of the Boards". And somehow EC sounds so fantastic with Kevin's screams, that I fell in love 😍

I absolutely love this song. I love that they can be goofy and have fun, but also be serious at the same time. It's a really nice switch up and I'm here for it

Their serious songs are really good. All bangers. No doubt. I recommend checking out their collab with Kalle Koschinski, "Castrop X Spandau" or the collab with Conquer Divide "F*ckboi". You're also missing "Hurrikan" and "MC Thunder 2".
Otherwise, when it comes to pre-Nico-time: "MC Thunder" and "Crystals" are propably the best ones to start with.

Thanks for another good reaction. I always love their stuff, serious or comedic. I am still waiting on your reaction to their "MC Thunder" (pre-Nico) and "MC Thunder II", both of which you will love

Parasite is my favourite of their darker songs but this one is just so damn good too. And for the most emotional song, which really shows their stylistic range, there’s Neon - no video but still worth checking out.

Great reaction.😊 From their darker songs I recommend "Crystals" (with Sushi, still hoping they'll rerelease it with Nico😊), very meaningful lyrics.
They changed the name in 2022. Nico joined 2020. If you wanna make a deep dive, they made three videos about it. (And you can learn about their personalities.)
    ▪︎ Hello 2022
▪︎ "Back to school: What we learned about the word "Eskimo"
▪︎ Current Situation & Name Change

Another powerful serious song of theirs I love is 'Prism' with their original singer.

Did someone say Electric Callboy? I'm here! Yes, this video is so very creepy. I love the visual effect they're using, but it gives me the shivers. Their serious songs are so much harder and less hooky in the chorus than the funny ones are. Freakin great. I've looked up the lyrics to this song and I still don't know exactly what it's about.

Another Serious Dark Song by Electric Callboy is "Crystals" it's with former singer Sushi. Keep in Mind it's not about a woman but meth addiction.

The pre-Hypa Hypa material/ Sushi era is mostly more "standard" metalcore than the current electronicore style. Lots of the older stuff is humorous too but rarely to the comedic level of what they're doing now. And even back then they did play with different genres.
California Gurls (2010, Katy Perry cover) was their first music video.
Is Anyone Up? (2011) was inspired by the infamous revenge pxxn website.
Muffin Purper Gurk (2012, nonsensical title referrs to a Chevrolet Sparks commercial) is about the (assumed) death of a pet guinea pig which was left behind at a band member's ex-girlfriend's place).
We Are The Mess (2013, first release with David on drums as original drummer Micha had left in friendship out of private reasons.
Crystals (2015), considered one of their darkest and heaviest songs (it's about substance axuxe). Dixi Wu, the harsh vocalist of the metalcore band To The Rats And Wolves, appears in the video (in an acting role, not as a singer). Nico was the clean singer of TTRAW, the group disbanded by the end of 2019/ beginning of 2020.
MC Thunder (2017), storytelling video with the band not appearing (David has a small cameo at the end), German youtuber/ streamer HandOfBlood starrs as the title character, lipsyncing in some scenes. He was part of the dance crew at the end of Hypa Hypa and later in 2020, he returned for MC Thunder II: Dancing Like A Ninja.
VIP (2017), them experimenting with a different style which their fans weren't too excited about back in the day, now considered another great example of their versatility.
Nice Boi (2019) another storytelling video, all band members appear in cameos. The video captures what might be considered a "sensitive issue" in some areas.

I'm really a big EC fan and regarding the sound, this could easily be one of my favorites. But I just can't vibe with lines like "You are the devil, bitch, everybody knows that" and threatening cruel revenge to - I presume - your girlfriend. I understand toxic relationships can be very destructive and have been in one many years ago, but men screaming out their fantasies about destroying their exes just doesn't work for me. And it's really something they can't seem to get over with, see Love/Hate, Parasite, Is Anyone Up, Crystals.. l wish they would let go of that topic, there is enough other painful stuff in this world to scream about..
