The power of the Vasquez! She survived til almost the very end. What a hero she was too.
1. Even Paul Reiser’s mother cheered when Burke met his end.
2. Makes you wonder if Cameron chose the name Bishop only to make the joke “Queen takes Bishop”. 🤔
Stan Winston did the special effects. His puppet of the Alien Queen still holds up, even against today's cgi.
Apart from when the flamethrower lights it up, and you can see inside its neck and see the scaffolding inside ;)
@@ashscott6068 now I have another reason to watch my favorite movie! Never noticed it, thanks.
@@paulschuckman6604 It might be fixed on modern versions like they fixed the obvious hole in the floor when Bishop was ripped in half. They might have even fixed the guy with the blanket you see running into shot to put out the flames, when Frost falls down the hole.
It holds up BECAUSE it's not CGI.
Not even the best CGI of the world can beat smart practical FX.
For a movie that predates CGI, what Cameron was able to do here was incredible. Warrants the highest praise
agreed! he's a true cinema legend!
Cameron had rather a history with making sci-fi movies look great, even on a very limited budget, a skill that like many other people in Hollywood, he learned working for legendary Schlockmeister Roger Corman
Pic of Ripley's daughter early in the film was actually a photo of Sigourney's mother in real life.
That is crazy!
And we know Ripleys daughter didn’t die at age 66 because I got her killed several dozen times in mid 20’s in the really quite good survival horror game Alien Isolation.
This is how you do a sequel. One of the best movies ever made.
A lot of people think they would be Hicks in this scenario but the truth is we would all be more like Hudson.. Crapping our pants but still get shit done. I love the fact that they portray bishop in a way that makes him sus and our preconceptions from the first movie is hes a badguy but we get a full 360 and its masterfully done.
All things considered, I hope I could even keep it together as well as Newt.
With a 360, you end up where you begin. You meant to say "180"
@james.b.mcgill either way we were spun around and made dizzy with the play
Not everyone would be as whiny
One of the absolute best sequels ever put on film...Sigourney Weaver should have won the academy award she was nominated for for this.
Amazing to think that was Carrie Henn's(Newt), only film, and that she became a teacher in later life.
According to her, making the movie was a lot of fun, but was so much work and was stressful as well. She'd have school during the day, then long hours shooting at night, then up early for school again. She apparently didn't originally try out for the part, she just came along to the audition with her brother Russ to offer morale support and got asked to audition as well. Russ does turn up in the movie as Newt's brother Timmy
Alien and Aliens are one of my favorite 1-2 film combos. Alien is a great sci-fi horror film, and Aliens is a great sci-fi action film.
Alien was the first film that I owned on VHS, back before they were meant to be sold to consumers (it cost me $80). Aliens was the first R-rated film I watched in a theater.
I must object about one thing. You say James Horners score is almost absent. You need to watch it again with a decent sound system. The score is a huge part of this movie and was subsequently put into so many other movies and trailers. It's one of the best film scores of the 80's.
Sigourney weaver was nominated for a academy award for this movie
"That doesn't look very breathable."
"How do you make an atmosphere breathable?"
In the scene just prior to that one they literally tell you about the atmosphere processors. lol
They’re too busy talking
@Captainslow556 don't mind talking but damn kids watch the movie
I saw this movie in 1986 on opening weekend. I had seen the first movie but had no idea what was going to happen. It completely blew me away! Such incredible action and the aliens were so awesome. So so good! Vasquez was my favorite, such a badass, and she went out like a G! Great reaction, guys!
Janette Goldstein who played the part of Vasquez, missunderstood what the movie was about, to her "Aliens" was about Illigal Immigrants.
So she showed up at the auditions in a Latina Thug/Gang member outfit with the attitude to match.
The Audition team loved her so much in this, that Cameron specially wrote the part of Vasquez for her, thats why Vasquez is a bad ass Latina Thug Marine.
Ther's even an inside joke about this, during the Briefing where she says "I only need to know one thing, where they are and who they are" and Hudson saying "She heard Alien, and though about Illegals Aliens"
Cameron idea was to not make it a copy of the previous movie, cause by now people knew hat the alien looked like and what it could do, so he opted for the MORE of them approach and pitted them against Colonial Marines.
And he expanded the univers of Alien with this Lore about a future where Colonial Marines corp is a neccesity, despite humanity at this point not having met an "intelligent alien race", and only Indigenous life forms that needed to be dealt with, hench the nomeclature of "Xenomorphs".
He wanted to depict this encounter as a call back to Vietnam war, where the marines where Overconfident and cocky, but got their arses handed to them by an enemy in superior numbers, more primitive and using Geurilla tactics cause of their Home turf advantage.
He also managed to make you attached enough to each character, that you'll feel for them when they get attacked and killed, and them not just being nameless goons that gets killed off.
Each Marine is unique in its personality and way of doing things and each has their quirks, wich makes them memorable enough for the audience to care.
So Cameron managed to turn a purely Horror setting into an Action/thriller/Horror with great maestria, cause quite honestly you are on the edge of your seat during the whole 2nd half of the movie.
Wow! What great insight to share, thank you! Where do you learn all of this? It’s amazing what happens when an actor shows up confident and ready to show their authentic selves. In Jannette’s case it led to her part being written for her…truly inspiring.
@@MaJeliv i m d b.
My favorite movie of all time. So remember she was out there for over 50 years, so they people went out to survey and terraform the planet years after the last movie. And it's not really mysterious that the aliens didn't show up, because there were no aliens to show up. Not without someone finding and going to the derelict ship. It takes a host for a facehugger for there to be aliens running around. It's a big planet so the chance of a colonist from this one spot on the planet to find the ship now that the beacon was turned off in the first movie, was almost impossible. Not until Burke sent them to the location. And they weren't studying them or liars, not until the father got one of them on his face and they brought him back. They were studying them to find out how to stop them. They took those off victims. This movie really spells out the life cycle of the Xenomorphs. You see how they function as a hive. This is a very good pairing with the first one. The first one being the Horror movie, this one being the action movie. Now if you want to end it on a happy note, stop here. But if you want to see Ripley's complete story arc...watch the next two. I really love 3 and 4. Some fans don't like them, but I think they are both great. Sigourney's acting is phenomenal in both of the next sequels.
Thanks for your comment and insight. You seem to appreciate Sigourney’s work and that’s reason enough for us to consider the next 2 films. Will we watch them here as a reaction: not sure yet…but definitely would love to see where Ripley goes. -Peace, Jose Miguel (MaJeliv Dad)
Just to add, imagine being the prospectors who are the first humans to discover an alien space ship? They would be set for life so no way they're just going to turn around unless someone (Burke) warns them.
I liked 3 as the continuation of the story but 4 could have been soooooo much better! I did like Ripley in this one though.
One of my top 5 favorite SciFi movies of all time!
I saw this in theaters when it first came out.
It was a literal standing ovation in the theater when Ripley closed the air lock and faced the camera in a closeup.
That ending!!
Queen takes Bishop.
Queen threatens Pawn/Neut
Rook/Ripley takes Queen.
Mate!
Both Alien and Aliens were great movies and complimented each other.
Alien was a Horror/Mystery movie. Aliens was an Horror/Action Movie.
Glad you reacted to the extended addition. It really fills out the story.
And gives you more insight into why Ripley really put herself on the line to protect Neut.
She became her adopted daughter.
Maritime law in space, if you find a ship in the ocean with no survivors, you could take it as yours. Sell it for scrap or what ever you wanted to do with it.
7:30 you found out later in the movie but basically those eggs are stationary, and there were no other lifeforms on the planet they could go for, so they just waited till someone or something finds them.
"They may be more equipped to deal with these things."
Yes that's just how the Americans first thought going into Vietnam.
If I am standing there with Ellen Ripley and Sarah Conner and I'm in danger. Guess what, I'm NOT in danger. I'd lie down and take a nap. I'm so safe. Ripley and Conner? I wouldn't want to get in the way of their bad assery!
Connor but okay
This movie is bonkers. Its builds ridiculous tension, and then it doesn't stop!
Stop? No. Pause just long enough to make the tension a bit more taut? Oh, yes!
loved the reaction guys, you have a beautiful family, new sub!
Thank you so much!!
I always enjoyed when Ripley shows up to bishop landing the 2nd dropship and says they aren't leaving and he goes "we're not!?" Always makes me chuckle
In the '80s was Bruce Willis, Arnold Swarznegger, Silvester Stallone .. the action heroes, the bad-ass people.
Then was also Segourney Weaver, the ultimate bad-ass action hero, surpassing them all.
"Jennifer Lawrence?" Who is that?;)
@@Otokichi786 Jennifer...who ? Simp, go back to your mom. Here there are monsters.
Fun Fact: The scene at the orientation meeting aboard the spaceship where Ripley tells the solders about the Xenomorphs, was filmed last, after the actors bonded making the rest of the film.
Additional Fun Fact: Including the Special Edition, no fewer than four members of the cast of Aliens were also voice actors on Starfleet, a British produced English language version of a Japanese sci-fi Marionet series, in which Mark Rolston who played Drake, was the pudgy comic relief character. The series ran between 1980-81 and inspired a rock album by Brian Ferry from Queen, collaborating with Eddy VanHalen
Somethings never change. In the theater (yes I am old enough to have seen it there, sadly) the whole packed theater erupted in cheers at the "get away from her you bitch" line. Glad you guys enjoyed this, its a masterpiece.
I actually met Carrie Henn (NEWT) last year at a convention; days before Halloween. Wish I could share a picture. Got her autograph on my Aliens DVD
I was amazed that Bishop remained useful after ripped in half, unlike a certain gold droid in Empire Strikes Back. The actor who played him didn’t know how to read until he was 30 years old!
Also, I was ecstatic when the movie was mentioned in an Avengers film and the basis for a rescue plan! They even did a camera shot that was reminiscent of it.
Glad you had watched the Special Edition of Aliens. Do NOT bother with the remaining sequels. HUGE disappointments.
Normally don’t bother with audio commentaries but I enjoyed the one with the director and cast.
Salvage is an old maritime/naval rule/law, that's actually still in use today, as far as I know.
The way it works is this: if you find an abandoned ship in unowned/international waters, and there is no one on board, you can claim salvage rights to the vessel.
This means the owner of the craft has to pay you something like 60-80% of the value of the ship, or let you take ownership of it entirely.
However, to claim salvage rights, the craft has to be entirely abandoned. If you find an unconscious but alive person aboard, there is no salvage. If you find someone that lost both arms and legs to a freak accident, but are still breathing, no salvage. If you find the entire crew aboard it, but they've all died from a mysterious disease, you get salvage rights - because everyone on board being dead is the same as abandoned. Finding the entire crew violently murdered would also make salvage rights possible, but the foul play of that makes it a very difficult road and you'd have to find some way to irrefutably prove you were in no way involved in their murder.
So, the comment about salvage rights is them remarking how there goes their shot at salvage rights, because Ripley is still aboard and still alive.
This is a big deal, especially here on Earth, because most ships you'd find in international waters are worth millions or billions. Salvage rights also applies to military vessels, and the government the ships belongs to has to pay you that percentage of the value of the ship. Likewise, it also applies to things like oil tankers or cargo ships.
Now, if you read all that, you know what the comment about salvage was talking about!
I swear I spotted dad as an extra on The walking dead.. Am I nuts? 😂
No you are not nuts, he plays Jose on TWD for a few episodes and he is the principal on Kobra Kai and he has other small parts on various series through the last years. I think it's a family of actors the kid on the right act on Miss Marvel.
@@viniciusjesus2867 wow that's nuts i had no idea i found their channel a few weeks ago
7:28 "... the fact that the aliens haven't showed up again...."
Remember their life cycle, from the first movie. There was only one in the first movie and Ripley blew it out the airlock.
So many icons in this film. Firstly, of course, Sigourney as Ripley. But then Michael Biehn (Terminator, The Abyss, Tombstone) as Hicks, Lance Henrickson (Terminator, many others) as Bishop and the late, great Bill Paxton as Hudson. Paxton has the honour of the only actor being killed by an Alien, a Predator and a Terminator.
And 37:06 Most iconic line in sci-fi cinema history.
Lance Hendrickson was almost killed by all 3 too. If you want to include the fact that he never recovers from his wounds in Aliens, he died to all 3.
I am so glad that you reacted to one of my favorite movies! It's a masterpiece, and even though I have seen it a million times, it still scares me-some iconic lines & characters. I loved your reaction to Vasquez, played by Jenette Goldstein, who was also in T2.
Cool that Jeanette is in T2 as well! That one is definitely on our list!
Alien3 is a good film but you have to watch the SPECIAL EDITION. It is a good entry but very different than the first two.
No, it's not. It starts by killing everyone off, gives you rapists and murderers instead, and it depends completely on a retcon that doesn't make any sense. Fincher still hates it with a passion.
The Assembly Cut of "Alien3" makes more sense that the theatrical Studio Interference version.
@@Otokichi786 And the assembly cut didn't have "interference"? 🤣 Every version is garbage, because every version kills Hicks and Newt in the opening credits, off-screen, and has a ridiculous retcon that breaks continuity. Then Ripley almost gets raped, and dies. So what was the point?
@@ifly-fsx I recall reading that Sigourney Weaver wanted to kill off "Ellen Ripley" and movie on to other things. Killing off "minor characters" off/on-stage has been around since Shakespeare's time. (I also disliked the "kill off Hicks and Newt" script.) The "Alien" films were supposed to end...but we know what happened. (sigh.)
@@Otokichi786 Weaver hated guns (Aliens would not exist if she had had more clout in 1986), she wanted to kill Ripley and have six with the alien. She got her wishes and it was trash. Hicks and Newt were not small characters. The magic egg on the Sulaco has always been and always be a stupid retcon.
It’s actually not so unbelievable that no one spotted the Derelict Spacecraft in 57 years-Guessing that the signal stopped working at some point between the first and second movie, there would be nothing to pinpoint the ship.
With one small settlement amidst a whole planet, with all that bad weather. If the alien spacecraft was under cover of a mountain or something, no satellite would spot it. And the colonists wouldn’t know where to look or what to look for.
It’s only after reading Ripley’s report that they would be able to pinpoint its coordinates.
“And we thought roaches were bad!!” 😂😂😂
Honestly, this right here 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Too make the nightmares even scarier for everyone: it is very likely that that these are telepathic attacks on Ripley by the Queen telling her to come back to the hive and join the colony.
Aliens (1986): the talent, creativity and ingenuity in the visual effects is incredible. Considering that there is not a single shot done with CGI. Everything was done with practical effects and camera tricks. The man behind the special effects, Stan Winston.
All of this combined with a good script, and great director, the ideal combination.
One of the best sequels ever made with Terminator 2.
Fun fact. You can see how this film heavanly influenced the first Halo game. The design of the ships and characters like the Sarge that appear in the game.
I saw this movie in 1986 with my friend Cindy on opening night. The audience in the theater was gasping, screaming, and at the end, on their feet, cheering. Cindy, who was fairly sweet and innocent, was rather traumatized by the whole experience and slept on the floor of her parent's bedroom for three nights afterwards!🤣. (She's fine now! LOL). For me, I thought this was the best movie I had ever seen. I went in expecting it to be a retread of the original Alien and I was totally blown away by James Cameron's vision and Sigourney Weaver's bad ass Ripley. I've never experienced a movie in a theater that had quite the impact this one did on me and it has become my favorite movie out of all movies I've ever watched in my 57 years. I have many other favorites, but Aliens is at the top of my list and always will be!
By far one of the best sequels ever!
This is in my top 2 movies of all time, along with big trouble in little China. Which came out right around the same time. I was twelve and those movies stuck with me. And I will always and forever. Remember you as the principal in Cobra Kai.
I was 13 back then, 1986, and we decided to go to the movies. Since this was not a movie for kids, we had an adult with us. WE HAD NO IDEA what was waiting for us. The whole cinema was in shock.
I became a huge Alien/Sigourney Weaver fan a few years later, after I went to my best friend’s house to watch Alien, since they had just bought a VHS player. We, again, were traumatised with the chest bursting scene. We were speechless and in shock.
Burke actually survived for a while, there is a deleted scene where Ripley runs into him while cocooned and after incubation by a face-hugger when looking for Newt inside the hive at the end of the movie, and leaves him with a grenade to basically take himself out. Also, the world of LV-426 is actually a cross between a moon and a planet (also known as a "ploonet"), and is protected by the magnetic field of the gas-giant planet it is orbiting, which itself, is orbiting in the goldi-locks zone of a star. There are several of those "ploonets" in science fiction, like Yavin 4 in Star Wars: A New Hope, as well as the world of Pandora in James Cameron's more recent Avatar movie franchise. The atmosphere processor basically took in LV-426's original atmosphere, and re-arranged the gasses to make the atmosphere breathable, and help to increase the overall pressure of the atmosphere, meaning people could now get out without having to wear a space-suit.
My friends, me mostly, played the knife game way to many times in our teens. We´re Norwegian and every time someone did something cool at a party or something we high fived and sayd GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER.
Super cool how the movie impacted your social life; wow the power of a well written movie is undeniable. Thanks for sharing.
Great reaction!
Fun fact that Bill Paxton has been in an Aliens film, Predator and Terminator.
Fun fact 2: Lance Henrikson who played Bishop was ALSO in an Aliens, Predator and Terminator movie. 😊
Thank you for letting me enjoy this movie with your family it was a wholesome old fashion feeling I thought was lost to time. I'm glad your family proved to me this rewarding human interaction still exist.
Thank YOU for watching with us. Such a great experience to go through watching this film
Masterpiece ever. The best sequel ever. Great
That movie left you all looking like YOU survived a trip to LV426.
"Aliens": Third Officer Ripley has been found and taken to Gateway station with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD. What will the Weyland-Yutani Suits make of her blowing up the "Nostromo"? On the SE version: After I saw the 1986 theatrical version, I had a question about Ripley that was answered in the first 10 minutes of the 1990 Laserdisc(!). 14:46 Aww, you left out Ripley's "Where do you want it?" scene, where Hicks and Apone find out that Ripley isn't a front office paper shuffler like Burke. 15:30 I had read Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" book before seeing this movie, and The Heavy Infantry came to mind. 20:52 Ripley is able to "get close quickly" to Rebecca, unlike the female Colonial Marines. A reviewer of the time said: "Sisterhood!" I suspected (and later confirmed in 1990) that Ripley had been a parent. 22:42 Vasquez isn't about to go into a hot zone unarmed; she has spare fire control modules for herself and Drake.
This movie is incredibly iconic in a number of ways. First, it pretty much cemented Ripley as easily in the top five best female action characters ever. Second, it easily influenced and inspired most alien creature feature films between 1987 and the early 2000's. Third, the colonial marines in this film provided the template for military forces in many science fiction films, TV, and video games especially.
The first movie was genre setting. No one had ever witnessed a horror movie like this before. It was almost a perfect film. The second one was an excellent sequel that gives you more of what you wanted to see but missed from the first movie, packed with action. Two completely different movies. The first one was a better "film," the second was a better "movie." Great reaction. Love that all you cared about for the fist half was your family member...hahahahaha
Regarding Cameron, Wired used to have an incredible article about his career writing about the time the first Avatar was released. The three takaways I found most interesting were that he was a college dropout working as a truck driver and making scifi models as a hobby, and then he saw Star Wars and was inspired tp teach himself film making. His start was a special effects demo with a woman in an exoskeleton fighting a robot - like he put different aspects of that into his first two movies. And that 3D movies exist because he made enough money with Titanic to do whatever he wanted, and his vision of Avatar required 3D so he figured out how to push the creation and adoption of the technology so he could make that film.
The fact that Paul Reiser’s mother cheered when Burke got killed is a testament to how well he played Burke.
I remember reading Alien: River of Pain and it showcased how Hadley’s Hope fell in detail and the Company setup the colony in the first place
"Organized Alien..." classic Mama Vasquez 😂😂😂😂
Wait wait wait... not even the dad knew the damn movie? How can you be his age, be a nerd, love cinema, and not fucking know Aliens? =__=
Jeannette Goldstein (Vasquez) is my favorite. Her gun says Adidos. When the computer says you have 15 minutes to get to safe distance...time it. It really is 15 minutes until the planet blows up. Bill Paxton ( Hudson) most of his lines were improvised. James Cameron hires the same actors and actresses.
I saw this movie when it opened in 1986, and you all nailed the reactions we had back then. Also, I actually run this film every Mother's Day. 🙂
Haha that’s great!! Great Mother’s Day film! Thanks for sharing
My favorite sci-fi series, my favorite movie Aliens!! 6 yrs old in the theatre with my family!! Terrified me as a child, IN LOVE WITH IT TILL THIS DAY!!😁😁😁😁
I been waitin forever for you guys to do this reaction 😂
The Review Board at the beginning that revoked Ripley’s flight status wasn’t from The Company-It was from the regulatory agency. Burke was the Company Rep representing Ripley at the meeting.
Did you know besides this the guy that plays Hudson not only fights aliens here but fights a terminator in The terminator, and fights a predator in predator 2..
They cast Paul Reiser in Stranger Things partly to freak out people who remembered him as Carter Burke. The twist being that, in Stranger Things, he really was "an ok guy".
Oh no...aliens?! Wont someone think of the violence?!?! And the children!!!!!
Love this family reaction!!! You guys are wonderful 👍
You are so kind!
On the night of the movie premier, Paul Reiser (Burke) brought his mother as guest. When Burke was killed, his mother stood up and cheered.
Fun facts. the script used for this movie was originally titled "Mother" Also the door cuttter boom arm was paid out of pocket by cameron himself. The studio refused to pay for it. I think it cost him around 12k to 15k for him to rent it.
When the final act is not the final act.
Something that James Cameron does a lot actually
The rewatch value is great because every single thing is meticulously set up by something that happened before. For example watch the sequence where the dropship takes off with Ripley and there's a subtle hint that the queen got on that I doubt anyone would notice on the first viewing but Cameron being a relentless perfectionist added it in.
another connection to Harry Potter! Molly Weasley's "not my daughter, you b-!"
RIPLEY !. I'd say my fav sci Fi movie of all time. Lost count how many times I've seen it.
Jemmy (I hope that's how you spell your name) is on point the entire movie! Awesome reaction, everyone was so into it, dodging the Mother Alien as it strikes. So glad you got the most from this movie. First movie is more a horror movie this was more action based. (Never noticed the use of water referenced by Cameron!) Pvt. J. Vasquez (Jeanette Vasquez) is played by Jenette Goldstein, she was in T2 as John's foster mother and a couple more of Cameron's films (Titanic). Bill Paxton (Hudson) so memorable and funny, great one liners!
Regular version cuts out Ripley's daughter, Newt and her family, colonists, remote automatic guns set up (Running out of ammo).
No spoilers but the third movie get more intense but starts to lose the magic. It just tries to continue the Alien story, then the other ideas for other movies.
The Smartgun is an MG42 machine gun with some add ons. The pulse rifle is a Tommygun also dressed up with an under barrel 870 shotgun
Jennifer Lawrence (of Hunger Games) recently congratulated herself on being the first female heroine in the movies. Sigourney Weaver (Ripley) replied to the post saying, "Thank you," No one beats Ripley, no one.
Great reaction. Love the big family.
Thanks so much
I watched your reaction to Alien before, and you can't imagine how happy I was the other day you posted this, because this movie is so epic, even more when none of you had watched it before and how fun was to see myself in all of you, when I watched this the first time. Thanks for sharing, guys!
The side characters of this film are so memorable, Hudson specially. Vasquez, oh, she's such a badass (plus, your faces when you read her name in the list, priceless hehe). And Hicks, I just really loved the guy because he always listened to Ripley, trust her judgement without knowing her but he could tell how brave she was (when he asks her if she was okay, right before entering the compound), for going back there knowing this creature terrified her.
Again, thanks guys! 😊
Ps. Since it was a group reaction, the soundtrack may have seem absent but honestly, James Horner's compositions were amazing . Absolutely nerve-wracking 😉
Great reaction to a brilliant film! Loved and appreciated the deep and lengthy discussion afterwards. Subscribed! ❤
Love watching you all sharing a family moment with us. You are such lovely people. Please stay as you are. I happen to like the 3rd movie but it's not for everyone especially if you like the happy ending in Aliens.
thank you @kathihein5524 that's what this whole thing is about, sharing a family moment with you and the rest of our viewers. Your presence here helps us and we hope we can do more of this: working together is a dream come true. -Jose Miguel (MaJeliv Dad)
You haul 20,000,000 tons, and whaddaya get? 57 years older, and deeper in debt. Weyland-Yutani. They’ll get you every time.
35:41 ......Queen takes Bishop.
Sorry. Too easy.
The tension that you guys were experiencing was a total flashback for me.
When I saw this in the theater, I watched the whole thing with my knees pulled up to my chest. I was positive the aliens were under my seat, ready to grab me.
Great vid, you guys!
This movie scared the crap out of me and my friends when we saw it in the theater. Has anyone suggested Buffy the Vampire Slayer series? Thinking you might appreciate the clever writing, great characters, story arcs and world building. It was the og vampire/monsters teen drama that inspired so many books, movies and tv.
Buffy and Angel both!
It made my night to see this come up!!!
thank you!
Alien 3 (do the SE if you watch it) is a completely different kind of film that borders on Drama vs Scifi horror or action like the first two. I like it quite a bit. Brad Pitt (the actor) also liked it and is what made him want to work with Fincher on the movie Seven (who disowned it because of studio interference). But it is definitely not as well liked as the first two movies, and is especially a hard pill to swallow for fans who consider the second movie the apex of the series.
To me, after the first three the series really nose dives. Some people like Prometheus, I personally have a strong distaste for the movie and think its sequel is mediocre. Alien Res the fourth film released is also a little too silly for my own taste. But there are people that like all of these films at different levels, so you still have to watch them because peoples taste are so varied, even if it isn't on the react channel.
I know a couple of weirdos who only like Resurrection, and one who only likes Prometheus.
I hope that Romulus or the FX series rights the ship, but I've heard promises of going back to the series roots for decades now, so I'll have to wait and see.
The first three movies are amongst my favorite movies of all time.
20:14 i actually think the residents of Hadleys Hope weren’t studying the facehuggers for company.
We know they’d didn’t know about them until Newts family came back with a facehugger attached to her dad. They were being over run by Aliens and trying desperately to find some way to save themselves. As Bishop said - they killed the host taking it off.
The story of newt's tale explains how she survived so long before everyone rescued newt. It's called newt's tale you can find it on CZcams easily just type in Newt's Tale and It will explain how she survived.
That's how you create a strong female character, modern cinema could learn a lot
Having to remind everyone to breathe… that was what it was like to see this in the 80’s
45th Anniversary of Alien Saturday May 25th
they say we didnt have strong female leads before the 90s, but i contest them with examples like ripley among many others haha
thiss is the best aliens movie, but AVP 1 and 2 are fun. many hate 3 and 4 but i like them
Weaver should've gotten the oscar, her acting in this is just so amazing. Almost as good as this reaction. ❤
Hahaha! Thanks for your comment it made me literally chuckle out loud…well take the compliment but Sigourney stands alone, she’s fabulous in this and she brought out the best of our emotions.
A little background, besides sending the colonists to search for the Alien spacecraft, after having read Ripley’s report. Burke also for some reason was able to choose the commander for the Colonial Marines search and rescue team-So he willfully chose the most experienced man possible, hoping he could push him around, get him to do what he wanted.
Hence why Gorman made bad call after bad call-The team ought to have known, based on Ripley’s report, that the colonists were already dead. When the personal transmitters placed them all by the reactor.
The Marines should have just dusted off and left the planet. Or better yet nuked it right then and there.
Burke.
What a fool.
I love this channel
. beautiful family as well❤
The studio didn't even want HR giger working on the first movie.. but the alien is his design and Ridley Scott said it's with him or nothing.
Love your reaction to this film. Great YT editing, too. Thanks.
Your reactions were so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing this with us.

37:04 Let the battle begin! Love this scene! 🙏🏽💪
I love watching ppl see stuff I did when I was a youngster, especially the kids. It's so funny and cool 👍🏾. Seeing this in the theater back in the day was amazing. But you guys Gotta watch Alien 3, I believe ppl are wrong about it. It's actually a good movie, PLUS it's the true conclusion to Ripleys story. I really believe you guys will enjoy it.

Not EVERYONE telling you to not watch 3. Do the assembly cut of 3, watch it and decide if YOU think it’s worth it to edit it down and bring to the channel.
