Film description: For five years after the Decepticon invasion of Chicago, the Autobots were granted sanctuary into the Earth. Believing they are a threat, they were secretly eliminated by an elite CIA unit with the help of a Transformer bounty hunter, Lockdown. Because of this, Optimus Prime has since lost his faith in humanity after the ambush that caused his injury and even considers leaving the planet until Cade Yeager, a mechanic, convinces him to reconsider his faith in humanity after helping him slightly recover. Together with his family, they join the Autobots to exterminate the bounty hunter, the reincarnated Megatron, and the Cemetery Wind.

Same here man. Cause last time we saw Optimus in Dark Of The Moon, he was badass hero where he slices, dices and shooting an entire Decepticon Army like they made of butter, and a fight to death with Sentinel Prime and one shoot rips Megatron head clean off. But in this movie, he is rusty, dirty, he is falling apart, his power system and health level is failing, he leaked too much Energon when his ear falls off, and he can't even stand and grab his gun to protect himself due how much damage he took when he was ambushed by Cemetery Wind and Lockdown. It's really heartbreaking and sad to see one of my favourite characters in such a bad and damage condition but still alive.

The pointless changes from imax to wide-screen was an early sign of how bay would completely butcher the aspect ratio in the last knight

Even when Optimus is all torn up, barely functional, AND is nowhere in good shape to fight, he automatically says he needs to save his autobots…

He also doesnt refer to them as "the Autobots," rather he calls them "MY Autobots." That little detail makes his reveal and backstory as to what happened to him that got him in that decrepit state more heartbreaking, because it implies Optimus was _unable to help the Autobots_ due to being in stasis lock.

Because of Cemetery Wind and Attinger's corruption and manipulation, all the Autobots are being blamed. Its a good thing Optimus meet a kind soul like Cade, who realises that Optimus is a good bot.
For as much flak as this film gets (and don’t get me wrong, it deserves quite a lot of it), scenes like this are still pretty damn good.
