The most underrated td game world tower defense
One of the reasons for lack of updates is that planet said he will not hire developers and has started working a 9-5 because tower battles was created to pay of student loan and now he already payed it off.

As a friend of a contributor, the student loan part was paid off years ago and planet used it as an excuse so he can no longer update the game. Also the owner of tower defense simulator was evil as he and planet had bad blood. The owner of tower defense simulator was originally a developer for tower battles, but they had some complications and tower defense simulator stole the ideas and coding from tower battles. He gained more developed and started their own game tower defense simulator. This lead to a battle which was successfully won by planet even through he had less developers than tds. Because of this planet gave 1 last update to keep the game alive longer and he added skins. This was the last actual full update until he stopped.
Moral of the story: have a copyright system

Been playing since Halloween 2017, always saw something special when I realised how fun a 3d blocky td game can be, sad to see how it is now, it had so much potential but sadly I think this is the end of tower battles in terms of taking back its throne. It's just seemingly too far behind TDS due to the update schedule and planet's choice of not transferring ownership or hiring devs has been a result of that, but ey maybe it still has a chance.
I think it'll always have a decent playercount for its legacy which it well deserves :)

Everyone would be so happy if planet would announce a new unit added every Saturday, sadly it will never happen but even the small things from a great game makes us happy.
i know this sounds stupid but it would be nice if as a last thing he would code a bunch of events that happen every saturday like ASTD's Dungeon system and make a bunch of units that have a drop chance
This guy just didn't have the balls to take a risk and actually do something with this game. He's scared to hired developers for them will "stole" his assets, but at the same time he doesn't gave a shit with Tower Battles due to irl stuff. At this point this guy is just a massive jock who doesn't want to take a leap with the potentials he got.
I was a beta tester, and a secret wave my old account and a few have played. It was the start and test of boss 5. Never released, the mechanics were special. It died, but when it did lose its health, it slowly kept running until it ran out of energy. You can still see it in Tower battles battlefront!
People say that TB isn't relevant anymore, but it still somewhat is. It retains a relatively good player count, and unlike the low-effort games grafted into the genre, it will most likely stay afloat.
Personally, I love how balanced the game is. There is sadly what I call a "big 4", which is 4 towers that you are expected to have one of if you want to win, along with one tower (the farm) that is pretty much necessary to triumph. I do like that just equipping all of those "big 4" is a bad strategy, meaning that you can't just choose the most powerful towers and expect victory. Of course, there is always PVP where you only need to survive longer than your opponent and can ruin their strategies if you're doing well enough, meaning you can always choose a short term strategy that won't reach the end of the game, but will last long enough for you to send a bunch of zombies at your opponent and kill them. It's also difficult enough (and only has 1 difficulty setting), meaning that even if you just put the most OP towers on your team thoughtlessly, managing them poorly will still ruin you.
I 100% admire the balancing of tb as a tds fan, as tds has pretty garbage balancing for a lot of towers making them overpowered or underpowered
Tower battles is a harder difficulty for young players than tds. In tds, it feels much more friendly to you than tower battles, where literally every part of the gamemode(early, mid, and late) can screw you if you have a bad team. While playing molten mode around 1000 times is considered, “fun”, because it’s so easy and simple to do with freinds, while still seeming climatic or having depth.
Fr i have every tower expect event ones i still manage to mess up at lava or toxic wave meanwhile in tds i solo molten while sleeping
old tds had some difficulty like tb did because we didn't have accel and any of these fancy towers

At this point I just play a spin-off version of the game called Tower Battles: Battlefront a lot more, since you become the towers themselves and it becomes much more fun than just standing around.
The problem is the ridiculous grind, I have already spent numerous hours in VIP servers soloing the game over and over again, and I'm not nearly close to unlocking golden zed, at this point I'm just giving up

there is barely any effort and telanthric gets a whole excuse to be lazy because the toilets just slide across the floor

Tbh even if the game has little to no updates i really like versus matches because of the different situations you are able to counter sending when you are playing properly specially in very short maps and because tournaments exist (trying to get huntsman in the next week tournament) and also because the game feels more balanced than other tower defense games that instead of "OP towers = free win in any gamemode" you need to use more strategy to win in both survivak and versus even tho most of the players just completely use ass loadouts in 1v1 like golden commando + phaser or zed

They fixed an game-breaking bug. With spawns bosses 1 and 2 undear ground.

The only real way to progress for new player is throught versus mode in tb, which is just ☠.
Also, even thought i might sound biased here. I definitely think that tds is better then tb. It just not as frustating to progress compare to tb while having a variety of tower and gamemode. Even thought some of the tower is a copy from tb.(also tb doesn't underperform tds interm of garbage balancing, so i say they both on equal ground)
@@zaipollizamabdulmalek5822 tbh versus makes the game x10 times less grindy compared to survival (no, golden towers arent necesarily OP or better, not even required for 94% of the maps), compared to you know, hardcore towers and golden perks on tds
since it just raw skill instead of OP towers = free win

Now, i think dicussing about the hardcore tower in tds and golden tower from both game is irrelevant so i will not speak about it. It just a tower a
for people to grind. Beside, the playerbase doesn't hate when these type of thing being added in both game. Most of them would happily grind for these anyway. But, i don't think the gameplay of both game is bad either way. It a td game. The only way to effect it is with highly unbalanced and unpredictable feature. The skill to play both game isn't different apart from the mode we are talking about. Which doesn't changed much.
Yea there are so many tower defence games that only do one think that is impressive, still my heart goes to tower heroes
This video is pure slop that doesn't actually explain much because it only looks at the player count and update schedule. There's so much more that contributed to the deterioration of the passionate community than lack of updates and reducing it to just this unironically hurts your video because all it does is tell people what they already know.
In my defense I was never involved with the inner cesspools of the tower battles community, the video was purely my perspective as simply a long-time player from the outside looking in
Understand that only a very small percentage of tbs playerbase is actually actively involved in the community itself, and while I admit that extra context would be very insightful, It's not like I would know that and willingly disregard it, given my position

There are 2 other factors to why TB 'fell off', A) Attracting New Players is practically impossible due to the lack of beginner friendliness, and to be honest, old TB had this problem as well, the 1 mode in the game simply doesn't function as a sustainable way to get credits, Versus is even worse because all you do is farm defeats and FIVE CREDITS, and no beginner is going in there, B) Tower Battles is repetitive, like, really repetitive, the 1 gamemode in Tower Battles and its sheer difficulty means that players will leave the game once they find all the content in the update, sure the quality's nice, and better than TDS in some aspects (I would know as a level 230 and a high level Tower Battles Player, about 360 wins), but 1 gamemode that's long as hell, sure it's a great mode and tbh its structure is brilliancy, but its repetitive, there's nothing TO DO in Tower Battles, you test new towers or balanced towers and you're gone, and with the sweatiness of tower battles players, it's a few days to 2 weeks,
Planet did get a chance for a dev team but the dev team was NOT good at all, therefore coming up with an idea of a golden archer as their best, he probably will find a dev team just in the coming future
tower battles is my fav game on roblox and has been for 4 years, the feel is just better whenever I play it, it isnt normal.

Update: Tower Battles returned with a rerun of Halloween 2020, now with a second chance to earn Graveyard and Hallowboomer towers by just buying it with event currency, so that means you can't get it by triumphing the said event and more like buying it with exclusive event currency in this rerun of the old event

i once seen on tbbf pvp discord server that someone posted from regular tower battles discord server an screenshot where planet says that he will return halloween 2020 and did a poll where hes asking return graveyard or add a new tower. Even if he’s not updating, he should bring back the old events to reclaim the towers and give the OG winners a unique skins for their even towers
I played TB about 2017 on a crappy tablet. I would then go on to play TDS on my phone 2019, and now, on a laptop, would play many different others such as Tower Blitz, Tower Galactica, and now here I am making my own.
I'd like to say that Tower Battles raised me as a TD player, and that I grew up starting with it.
Even now, seeing the game die out, it's still there inside me.

alright im here to spread some info on why planet doesnt have devs anymore, a lot of his older devs left to work on other tower defense games, some of them dont even wanna be involved with him anymore. and this is mainly due to the fact that planet did a lot of things that pissed the other devs off, making them want to leave such as beefchoplets.

i play tower battles every once in a while but i dont like how you cant make the game easier or harder
and it also feels like you need to bring the same 5 "meta" towers to win (which is an issue alot of td games have)
you dont always have to win you just experiment with what you have.

world tower defense is rising and I really like the game it is more of a real time strategy than a tower defense and I like both genres
Planets timing was bad for me I had just gotten golden commando and played one game with it before he updated the game the same day I got the tower and limited the placements to 6 I played one game with no placement limit
I played that game since 2018 till 2021 because my phone cant handle the TDS games and map so i have to switch to tower battles anyways until i have a better pc to play TDS
Tds just made planet hopeless so then he knew he was going to fail so he stopped

Idk why but i feel like the only reason why tower battle is still not completely dead is because its the only td game that has a pvp. Idk why alot of people really like pvp on a td game.(i hate pvp)
Its bc the rewards of PvP are AWAY AND AWAY better than playing the 20-40 mins on survival mod when you get almost the Double of you rewards with pvp if Lucky, and bc towers like g commando and g scout can only be unlocked by beating PvP its like the only Gamemode that pay attetion
PVP makes the game replay-able. You memorize the wave structure over time and it gets a bit stale. But with PVP you don't know what or when, and you have the chance to win without focusing solely on DPS. Opponent towers don't have much range? Send some fast zombies. Too much crowd control and not enough DPS? Maybe do a boss spam.
Let's use one of my recent games as an example.
My opponent was using railgunner + golden scout; I was using mortar. I knew I can't beat him in raw DPS and was going to lose to Void, so I started sending necromancer bosses, he noticed and did the same. But the difference is that railgunner wastes its high damage shot on the weak summons of necromancer boss, while mortar's AOE damage was perfect to counter necromancer boss.
TL;DR: PVP makes the game more unpredictable and adds another aspect of skill.
there's one thing i don't like about tower battles that really affect my gameplay i don't get credits if i lose in survival even if i lose in wave 40 i hate it alot and have to play like 100+ 1v1 games

I tried to go back actively, but the game lag is ridiculous, a game that should last 30 minutes ends up lasting almost 1 hour due to the excess of particles, explosions and troop units like the graveyard

Tower Defense Simulator is just…horrible.
If you want to win the recent events, you need Accelerator.
If you want Accelerator, you need robux (lots of it).
If you don’t have robux, constantly lose until you win.
If you don’t want to bother, wait for someone to make the most FRAME-PERFECT strategy in order to win events.
This isn’t fun anymore.

Beside, all other tds game doesn't end up being more interesting or fun compare to tds, so it a matter of choice what game you like anyway.
