- Changing twine knives on a New Holland 565 hay baler. If you have issues with your twine not being cut clean or miss a bale once in a while, it’s a good idea to service your twine knife arms. Good information! Thank you for posting...... going through that right now.
I think my Hesston 4570 has the same issue. I baled 430 bales on Thursday and missed about 5. Every time, a long piece of twine was still connected to the following bale. So the following bale tied correctly, but it had a long piece of twine streaming from it next to the knot. Thanks for the video PA.
Yea it does sound similar to this, thanks for watching
I looked at the knives today. They're fastened with a self tapping bolt. Should be a simple swap. Thanks again for the video. Have a great week!
Very good I've a baler with the same rivited knives I was afraid to replace with the screw type thanks
Thanks
Which direction did you place the bolts? Did you put the nuts on the bottom of the blade or the top? Thanks!
What was the part number for the bolt on knives?
We are having the same issue with our 570. Did changing the knives solve your problem or did you have to do something else after this video.
Yes, it was cutting the twine much cleaner and missed way less
Can you tell me where you got your replacement knives for your baler? I can't seem to find just the replacement knives. Thanks for any help
I just went to my local new holland dealer and told him what I needed
Good info there. Did u have to replace the right knotter at some point since it's painted black
Jake Ziegler yea the right side was giving trouble. No matter what you did to adjust, it just was wore too hard I think. This winter I want to make a video on installing new plunger knives and rollers. I think this baler had lots of hay through it before I bought it. I miss my 275, but I should have this one in shape soon.
PA Farms good deal ya I'll like to see that knife video
What is the price of a new arm assembly if needed ?
are the knives so inexpensive you don't consider sharpening them?
Soybean Farmer I think it was $14 for the pair. I suppose you could sharpen them but it's like sharpening a blade on a utility knife. It only the thickness of a razor blade.

You say the same things over and over about sparks and rivets and cuts
Apologies. This video was among some of my first on CZcams. I wasn’t very good at it then. Still not great today but it’s all I got.
I like it. What kind of knife do you use to cut the twine when you put it out? I'm new. I've been using a pocket knife, but is there a special tool? Different hay types and all.
