- It's a lot of work to make an old triple snowmobile engine reliable, but it doesn't need to be expensive.

Great video Nutter! I like how you go in depth on these motor builds and also explain why you replace crank seals, etc. It makes lots of sense! Looks like a pretty healthy motor you’ve got there, that’s great 👍. She’ll be on the snow in no time!
Cheers
Another mint video at the speed shop
Thanks!
Almost 2,000 subs.
Strong motor
I have to admit that I was a little surprised to see 130 psi compression on all three. Usually it's more like 120 or 125.
Really great videos. I have learned so much from them.
Glad you like them!
If ethanol is treated with stabilizer like startron is still hard on crank seals
Loving the xlt content I have a 94 all the tips and tricks will eventually be helpful.
Glad to hear it!
I appreciate the shout out. Will definitely be a nice ride when completed!!
Thanks for the light cover and hat! Will you bet at Triple wars?
@@nuttersspeedshop I am planning on being there on Saturday
excellent Vid! Very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Hit like before I even watched the video. Would be interested to see your process for dealing with the coolant system after you've had an engine out and are re-installing (do you "burp" the system and how is it done). As always, thanks for putting out great content! Gives me (and I suspect a lot of others) the confidence to wrench on our own sleds!
We just lift the engine well above the coolers and that has been burping it.
I really appreciate you taking the time to make and edit these. I know most of the fun is doing the work (and drinking a few beers). Hoping someday I'll have time to do this stuff. Cheers!
Thanks for watching and leaving the comments!
Do you use Polaris crank seals or something else? Love the Fuji Triple content, Have three of them, rebuilt one engine last year and still going strong (didn't pressure check it though, now that I have a lathe I will have to make the stuff to put a kit together). I bought a backup XLT at an auction in western MN for $70 and got that running this year, but I have two backup motors, one of which needs rebuilding so that is my plan soon, also working on redoing a Wells Index vertical mill so your channel is great! Nick from Owatonna, MN
I use vertex/Winderosa crank seals. They seem pretty good for the money.
Thanks for the videos. I bought my dads 97 xlt rmk from him. Hasnt ran in about 15 years. These videos have helped alot. Do you have the link for the crank seals by chance? Thanks again
They are a common part. Dennis Kirk, Mfg Supply and a polaris dealer all have them.
@Nutter's Speed Shop all the polaris dealers in my area have them listed at 40$ a piece. Ill have to do some shopping. Thanks again. Cheers from utah!🍻
Hey Nutter! Quick question, where do you get all your OEM parts (besides swap meets)? I just got a 1997 Indy 600 and I need a handful of parts (ordered practically an entire OEM break system off eBay) and I need an air box and a seat. Not sure where you would get stuff like this, especially the seat. Any advice is greatly appreciated, keep up the great content!
Swap meets, ebay, sometimes I order online. For more leaf spring era vintage stuff Dr Marios vintage Polaris parts is a great place to check. There's an online place called Als that is good for used parts. There's several dealer sites that you can order from.
Hey Nutter, what and where did you get the upgraded voltage regularly for your indy’s? i remember watching the video but can’t find it.
It's a common part. Mfg Supply, Dennis Kirk, Ebay, Amazon or your Polaris dealer all have them. There's a link in the description to the one from Amazon.
Interested in a 1991 Exciter II with a bad piston/cylinder? I'm looking to sell it for $200. I hate to see it rot away in a field.
No thanks.
Where did you get that torque wrench 🍺
It's been years. I'm guessing either summit racing or amazon but I really don't remember any more.
What bottle are you using for your VES red oil?
Just some lab bottle I found on amazon.
