for an m3 that is pretty reasonable i would say cost wise. My e46 had me up at night with potential issues (that never actually failed mind you) vanos, rod bearings, subframe, all of which i had addressed,plus water pump, 6k in total for preventative maintenance.

It's crazy that a valve cover an intercooler and a cooling tank is all considered maintenance items.. It's crazy that people have these parts fail on their cars and they just chalk it up to oh it's a BMW..

guys are incredibly brave to buy high mileage M cars. Have followed up with 5 dealers in the last 3 months, all cars have history and comments, gearbox fixes, accidents from track racing. finally found a 2015 with 18k miles clean title. 2017s/18s are crazy expensive, not worth it.
