How to Install a Basic Tachometer Video - Pep Boys

Auto Meter basic tach installation onto your vehicle is a fairly straight forward operation. This video will cover basic installation on most vehicles with a standard ignition system. The red wire or the power wire will go to a key switch 12 volt ignition source. The black wire is ground, so that's going to a good engine or chassis ground. The white wire is for the light on the tach which will go to your headlight switch so the lights come off and on with the rest of the dash lights. And finally the green wire will go to the negative side of your ignition coil or to a tach output terminal ignition box like a MSD.
