    Does the new XPro II for Canon work correctly on the R5/R6 when using HSS and TTL simultaneously? The original XProC would default to full power when using HSS and TTL on the R5/R6. Godox acknowledged the problem but never came up with a fix. Hopefully this is it.

      Yeah that was exactly my question also. Did ask on Strobepro site but the question has not been answered.
      And I do doubt they “fixed” the AF assist. Looks like the old system with red beam that works on dslr only.

      A question that you may have touched upon but not enough to clear it up for me. If I want to put the camera on a tripod and remote activate the shutter release and strobes…is there a small handheld wireless remote available? I presume I need a cable from the camera to the XPROII-C but… what remote transmitter would I use to release the shutter?
      Thanks

    • @hizhaus
      @hizhaus Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@scottabeers Wait. Depending on your camera, you could remotely trigger the shutter which would activate the trigger on the Godox. You don't need a cable if the trigger is on the hot shoe.

    • @scottabeers
      @scottabeers Před 9 měsíci +1

      @hizhuas that is my question...how to release the shutter? I am new to Godox gear. I have used Yongou triggers where a small trigger could be used to remotely fire the shutter release through the strobe trigger on the camera. In this case there was a short wire from the camera to the flash trigger on the camera.

After a lot of frustration and a lot of digging I learned that TTL is only available on channels A B and C. Channels D and E only allowed for manual or off. Of course I guess you could put all the lights on channel A and go to TTL but individually if you assign them separate channels channel D and E only allow for on manual and off. No TTL. I THINK THE MANUAL AND THE DIRECTIONS NEED TO BE MUCH CLEARER ON THIS FACT I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY EQUIPMENT C

      "Auto" zoom will try to closely match the field of view of your lens. Bought a Xpro2 Nikon June 2023 and a V1. Work fine with the Nikon Z9 and Z8. Bought an AD 400 early April 2024 and the XPro 2 is not triggering the SD400 from the Z9 or Z8 . I had not tried it since updating firmware to 5.0 and 2.0. The XPro2 dose work fine with the D850.
    The V1 though some work fine on the Z9 and Z8 as a stand alone flash and works as a trigger.
    Firmware on the XPro2 is 1.0, I have not been successful getting the firmware update to work and it’s not clear if it will address the problem.

    What a cumbersome way to go to TCM!! What happened to the TCM button that you push without going into the menu to set it up for an individual light? TCM is very useful to shoot in TTL and then show a manual setting to work from there. It takes the place of a light meter!

    • @cooloox
      @cooloox Před rokem

      I get the model to hold a grey card and zoom in on that, so it fills the frame. Fire a shot in TTL and then press the TCM button and start shooting. As you said, it replaces a light meter and is easier. It's literally fire one shot, press a button and we're ready to go. I'm surprised the guy in the video didn't really know what it's for.
      I wonder if we can tick multiple flashes to work with TCM at the same time. If not then this is a real step backwards.

    There is an engineering flaw with that type of locking mechanism and Nikon cameras. The pin that is suppose to sit down in hole to lock on doesn’t fit. You never have to use little button to release and it never locks firmly on to camera ( just whatever tension you can apply to it ). With my Z9, it constantly loses communication and viewfinder goes black. I tested the locking mechanism with 4 Godox speed lights on 7 different Nikon bodies. None locked on.

    There were quite a few inaccuracies and even some plain wrong info. You'd think Strobepro should know their own equipment. For example ~ @41:10 he says that only the new Xpro-II has that extended number of groups (going beyound A to E) when in fact the original Xpro also has that exact same feature.It would have also been helpful to explain to inexperienced users that once you set that extended number of groups it's bye-bye TTL on any group. There are also a couple other things but I'm too lazy to write.

      Yep, you're right. After 40 minutes of talking about custom functions with no script, that one slipped through and is on the original. Seeing as less than 1% of people use that feature, I don't think anyone will be buying the controller specifically for that. We will make the correction. Thanks

I don't understand why it works with the SL2 and not the Sl2-S. I asked Godox for an eventual firmware update and this is their answer: "Now we can't tell you for sure that there must be firmware to solve this problem in the future,
    but our technicians have already learned about this problem, and they also need time to study to see if there is any solution (such as updating the firmware)" The Profoto Connect Pro works with the SL2-S so why not the Godox? ☹

    • @Strobepro

      If you've followed all of our instructions, here are some troubleshooting suggestions:
      1. Make sure to try the test button on the controller and not just your shutter release. This will help you determine whether you need to change something in the radio control system or if a camera setting is to blame. On the camera side, look for any electronic shutter or silent modes that might be enabled since these will usually disable your flash.
      2. Check the ID setting in the menu on both your controller and flash. Make sure the ID either matches or is disabled.
      3. Make sure that the flash group you are trying to trigger is enabled. If you see dotted lines next to a group, that means the group is turned off. Power should be set from the controller rather than on the flash to avoid any triggering errors or unwanted power settings.
      If none of these suggestions helped, feel free to reach out to us by email and tell us which camera and flash you are working with. We can try to give you some more specific advice.

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  Před 27 dny

      We'd usually suggest an on-camera flash that you can use for ceiling and wall bounces whenever possible. Generally, the most universally useful flash at an event is the one that follows you around. Flashes placed throughout the room would most typically be an addition to your on-camera flash. In some cases, an event venue may not have any usable bounce surfaces. Even then, an on-camera flash can be useful for filling from the front. Godox flashes have a radio transmitter mode and can function as the controller for other flashes. A controller could still come in handy if you set up any formal shots where you control the environment and can really use your off-camera flashes to their potential. It's just less weight to have on your camera whenever it isn't needed!

    You say not to put different types of lights on the same group, but can you fire two groups at the same time? In my case, if I'm shooting a large room, I frequently setup 2-3 speedlites around the room. If I have a subject in the fill zone of one speedlite, I only want to trigger that one. But if I have a subject kind of in between or a large group, I might want to fire all of them. Is there a way do that?

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi Bobby,
      You can only use one channel at a time, but you can use up to 5 groups simultaneously. I hope that clarifies it!
      Lights put on seperate groups can be managed seperately. Lights put on the same group will all use the power setting applied to that group.
      When we suggest putting different lights on different groups, we are talking about lights of varying maximum powers. 1/1 on a speedlite is not the same as 1/1 on a 600Ws strobe, so you would want to manage those two lights separately in almost any situation.
      If you have two or more identical lights, there are situations where it will make sense to have them on the same group. For example, let's say you have two identical speedlites lighting a background from either side. Assuming you always want your background lights to use the same power setting, having them on the same group simplifies that for you.

      Hi Vicky,
      Check the "STEP" setting in the controller's menu, and make sure one of the 1/256 options is selected. Use "1/256 0.1" if you want to control your lights in 1/10 stops, or "1/256 0.3" for 1/3 stops.
      We are a bit confused about your second question. Can you link a time stamp to the point in the video where we discuss this?

    • @Vicky-il5yv
      @Vicky-il5yv Před 9 měsíci

      @@Strobepro51:41 When you say one of the reason you would use/on Legacy Hotshoe is that- it will help in maximizing no. of frames in burst shot, since TTL and High Speed Sync gets disabled/not supported in that mode.
      So here I just wanted to understand- with Legacy Hotshoe turned off, if we simply disable TTL (shooting in manual) and HS is also off. Wouldn't it give the same speed or we still can have better results in terms of speed with Legacy Hotshoe turned on?

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  Před rokem

      Hi Rizky,
      There's no way to automate switching between different lighting setups. You do have some save slots where you can store and recall your group settings, and we cover that function at 55:16.
      The only other thing that might kind of resemble what you are talking about is the "Mask" function that is available on some Godox light. This function can be used to toggle when a flash fires (for example, on every second shot). It is accessed in the menus of the lights that support it, and not through the controller.
      If I missed something and you want further clarification, just let me know.
