I just inherited my dad's 2000 hilux 3l TD manual dualy. 180kkms. It's in brilliant nick. I'm very excited to start minting it with a few tastefully done mods 👌
@@randomhuman2084 Its my favourite car ever. 164000 kms. Immaculate services. Pristine interior. Going in for minor paint and panel repairs. I'll drive this until I die,. Daily driver around town. Not stupid 4x4 I'm too old for that. I just love that it's the last Japanese diesel engine. Clackety clack noise. No modern technology. Beautiful.
Ive got a good old 98 model petrol though, engines over 600k but still going strong, definitely want to bring it back to life when i can afford to do so. Its done everything its diesel brothers have done and a bit more just wont thrash it as hard as they do with the diesels.
Nice work, I’m currently dealing with a previous owner of my hilux had done the carlovers power wash the vinyl trick before selling to me so I’m about install car builders sound deadener kit in my dual cab 2004 td. Great video. Cheers for the inspiration to enjoy the process and look forward to the results.

Hey mate great looking rig, I’ve found basically the exact same one I’m hoping to buy and would like to make it look like this Just wondering what tyres you went with and did you give it a lift? Also which bullbar you’d recommend Great stuff
@@alifeofliving7600 wow really.. how was the performance on that 2LT? Cz mine wen i bought it the engine was in the booth and everything was opened so am having 2 minds either to buy a complete new recondition 2LT or buy a 5L
Alot of people speak ill abt the 2LT don't know why. They say it cracks up the cylinder heads and am thinking maybe they forgetting that its not a performance engine and it shouldn't be over revved so much. Ur opinion will be great since u hav used it☺
@@ghalibabubaker88abubaker87 I am a big believer that the motor in any vehicle is only as good as the preventative maintenance completed on the vehicle. Also respecting the vehicle and knowing the limits. Yes the head is definitely a weak spot on the 2LT but it doesn’t mean it is a bad engine by any means. Install an exhaust gas temperature gauge (EGT gauge), boost gauge and coolant temperature gauge to keep an eye on the motor and how hard it is labouring. Also a catch can is a great investment for any turbo diesel vehicle. The 2LT, 3L and 5L are definitely not speed machines so please don’t get one and expect to go from 0-100km/h in any less than 3 minutes...🤣🤣 I’ve owned all three and they are all the same turbo or no turbo. I’ve got e hilux exac the same colour and shape like yours . Just that I found the engine sometimes is not power enough . It’s a LN165 . 2.4td . Question : can I put a 3.0l engine ?
Is that the 5lefi engine ? I've got a 147r. It'll be good for 600 thou kms... if you keep changing fuilds and filters and a bit preventive maintenance.... nice one.
Great video mate. Looks amazing. Just watch your music volume in relation to voice over as music's a bit overbearing (also a really loud/over bearingly mixed track in general).
Hi! I own a 1987 Hilux LN65 with only 9600 Miles. The Firetruck has been on standby in a small Austrian Firedepartment in a village close to Vienna. Perfectly maintained, no rust at all. Double Cab, Diesel, Power steering, 5gear manual, 100% original., Who would know for how much I could sell it? Regards Franz
I used armourall and microfibre cloths. Lots of elbow grease. As for the air vents and other fiddly bits I used a cheap, stiff paint brush from Bunnings to dust them out. Hope that helps. Ben
Hi mate my luxy 2002 dual cab 5vz-fe 3.4L. I want to put a canopy but not sure about the correct tub/canopy sizes. Do you mind give me info on this? Cheers

Great video. I just bought the exact same Hilux here in Ireland yesterday - and it was imported from Australia. Cant wait to bring her back to glory!

I wish we had those railed beds here in Canada. By the way, where did you get those LED indicators for the ARB they look great!
Hey Mark, I bought the LED’s off eBay. I took measurements of the original indicators and after about 20 minutes of searching found a perfect fit LED.
