Wow..... how tall is she? Legit question, not being rude or mean.
I am from UK( England) I need information is it possible I cud travel to China to get these stuff and Electronic products imported to UK ??
i have a lot of bad ass ideas for everyone but u have to talk to someone first
@@emg4815 meaning ?
@@Kill--alllll---IDF We Make it Happen its for the jacket's i make and nothing else thanks for asking much love and respect
I'm glad Simone is in Tested now! Can't wait for more videos! :D
You guys getting Simone to join the channel is a HUGE asset. She's bright, smart, funny, cute and is awesome on-camera. Good choice!
Yes I did - what's your point? It's still a good idea :-)
Not really. she maybe smart but sure as shit ain't funny
Well, ***** that's subjective I guess :-)
+darkliberty Really. Really not funny. Maybe she's subjectively funny to you because of her 'HUGE assets'.
darkliberty Just type + and start typing the username :-)
Wow. This is actually super interesting and I am now super happy that Simone joined in. Nowdays Frank shows us how to put paper on a table and Patrick shows up once every two months so this is very refreshing.
Haha. Epic comment
+John Grammaticus I just checked the last 2 weeks of videos to see what you were talking about. In them they compare VR goggles, test drive a tesla, Build things with legos & some models, have some fun with liquid nitrogen, test another product, do some science fair science, have a couple of talk shows AND build a popcorn machine . .. besides the paper thing. . . so one dodgy video in a fortnight. I wish all CZcams channels struck out so rarely. Also to be honest as a crafter that uses a lot of hot glue & paint, the paper idea is one I was planning on stealing as I'd never seen it done before, so to my POV they were all good & interesting videos.
wwaxwork
Sure thing, but I was talking about changes since Will left. Personally I'm not a fan of those sciency videos aimed at a rather young audience but I see their merit. Back in the day there was more in depth tech here, builds were more elaborate etc. To each their own but at times I felt that there was less and less stuff for old farts like me and I have a feeling that Simone might fill that gap, we'll see. I think that it's simply because Norm and Adam are still experimenting with what they want Tested to be.
+John Grammaticus You are just pervin out cause she is a girl
+Benjamin Burmeister Too old for that and happy with my missus. But this being internet I see how you could presume so.
Having worked in Asia for over 25 years what you have to understand is that this type of market is pretty common there. Most of the shops specialize in one type of product or component since a good number of them are wholesalers. The owners open up these retail stalls in these markets as a combination outlet and office for their business. It is also the reason that you negotiate everything. I had some pretty good relationships with many of the owners of these small stalls but if you are identified as a one time customer with little chance of repeat business look out. Best way to get a good deal is to be respectful and honest with them. If the price is too high tell them and leave odds are there is a shop close by that can match the deal or better it . The longer you stay does not mean a lower price sometimes it just annoys them.
Replace Will's block figure graphic with a Simone version!
*****
Yup
+I AM IRONCLAW! I thought she replaced Norm...
+Mitchell Smith Will left a long time ago. Norm is the main host!
+TTate what happened to Will??
+I AM IRONCLAW! Replace Jamie he doesn't do anything with Tested now.
Do they accept a small order of 100,000 batman masks?
maybe morgan freeman ideal wasn't that good, lots of things that are R&D plus manufacture in china will just go explode or poison you death.
iphone's R&D are done in california USA, dumbass
No there not, iphones are designed in America, Made in China.
helloooo, R&D = research & development; doesn't mean that its make in the same country.
product designed in one country will want the OEM to adapt their process control and quality especially a big co. like apple.
but quality of a product designed and manufactured by the same entity will largely depends on one integrity.
I know for a fact that the engineering for iPhones are done IN China.
What I don't want my hoverboard to do is touch the ground.
+Martin Štěpán Its called a HOVERboard for a reason. Just sayin'.....
Simone Giertz !!!!!!! YES
I love that she joined tested
So rad that Simone is on Tested now!
When Simone's first video went viral and I found it, I was a little worried she'd just disappear like so many other cool people.
And now here we are today!
That's awesome your working with Tested. Congratz!
Love the format of this video, and it's so cool seeing Simone on Tested. Awesome!
Bra jobbat, Simone Giertz! You fit so seamlessly into Tested :D!
OMG, she's gorgeous. :) Pleasant attitude.
cute with or without makeup? because I thought the same at first until I watch the video
+DonD512 Don, you have swell muscles. Goodonyam8. We're all sad that this video made you realize that Simone does not live up to your standards without makeup. Happy lifting old chap.
+DonD512 CZcams comments section is not the ''Announce how shallow and self-absorbed you are with an avatar of your body'' blog.
I really love all the energy Simone shows when talking.
YAAAAYYYY, love that she's a part of tested now!
+Simone Giertz This must be a dream. Will you be on a lot?
me too.....
+John Smith SAME
Wanna know the story.
And shes not been seen on there much recently. Im wondering if somethings happened. She doesn’t even get mentioned in the Still Untitled podcast?? I know she keeps her own channel updated.
Simone Giertz is really good at this. Good choice, Tested
+Channel Dos A really good presenter! Great talking to the camera and she doesn't seem awkward being filmed out and about. More like this for sure!
And completely comfortable talking nerdy to me. I hate it when someone is hired to read words they don't understand. No such issue here.
SO GLAD TESTED FOUND YOU! Keep them coming, sure it'll be great content
Tip: invest in a "dead cat" to cover up your recorder to get rid of that wind/breathing sound.
Tested seems to be moving from strength to strength under Norm's leadership. I think Simone will make a great addition to the team.
+Maxx B I'm amazed at how horrible the comments are for how much good work they're doing. It's like people who watch these are the comic book guy.
Simone! Welcome to Tested!
Hey Simone, I appreciate you hustling back in for this film. Maybe one day I'll get to go but if not then at least I've seen a little something of it. Thanks Simone.
Simone is going to need her own block head graphic
+juzzam3 Yeah! Can't wait to see that one.
She joined Tested! Fantastic.
The reason I found out about Tested was because of Simone joining the team! Glad to see her in action! :D
Simone is alright in my book. Welcome Simone! Looking forward to more
+Dingus “dingusmagee” Magee I think she is great :D after turning my toes backwards quite some times with Norm and Will, this is a really welcome sight :)
Simone is perfect for tested; she's smart funny and best of all a huge nerd
+RageFilledTrex And she's a babe, I like her too!
Why is all these people repeating that shit? She is not funny at all. like average at best....be honest people
+ruskodisco If you don't like it, watch something else ;)
+ruskodisco We know she's funny because we watched her channel. She made an internet arguing robot, a kitchen robot, and a wake up robot, and a comedy skit.
Siana Gearz Shes just smart, not funny. Im sorry we don't agree shes perfect ;)
I love you! Also, you are singlehandedly bringing the ponytail back!!
that is a very fine looking ponytail on a very fine woman
Whays rong with a pony tail ? Lol
Let your hair down...no please put it up! Agree
It's pretty much eBay IRL
+J Hughes or China eBay. Funny how Ali Baba is not in the picture given their reputation
+jace888 true, I actually prefer AliExpress over eBay.
+J Hughes Same here. Aliexpress is a bit cheaper, first of all. I have spent so much money there (hundreds of dollars!) on parts and other various things in the last year, but I've probably saved at least as much than if I had bought them retail or from domestic resellers. It's all mostly decent stuff... a lot of it is fantastic... and I have not had to start a dispute once. Shipping sometimes takes a long time, but everything is so cheap, I can buy things I don't necessarily need at that moment in anticipation of needing them in the future. I am really VERY grateful that it exists.
+J Hughes actually, a lot things sold on eBay were come from this kind of market in China
J regarding eBay, new videos on my channel. Completely relative
Stop calling those hoverboards. They are rollyboards.
+Neceros No, they are explodyboards! geesh get it right :P
+Max Bainrot That depends on the battery manufacturer & charging electronics..
I feel like that is incorrect as well. I've heard them called self balancing something...
Pretty cool. I lived there 2 years, and that is how purchased cheap components when building my VR headsets in 2012-2013. Is actually a few streets, and many building that arent meant for business have apts for business purposes.
Just for the record, 1 Yuan is 1/6 of a dollar.. In anyone is interested. And this is actually very neutral video. Almost every video about China I opened so far, was either about politics or stereotypes.. Huh.. I guess this is the first video I'm gonna like
欢迎您来中国走走看看
Helvete va kul att se dig på Tested. Hoppas att samarbetet blir allt vad du hoppats på. Lycka till! Go make crazy stuff now!
***** :)
+I AM IRONCLAW! Jag är övertygad om att hon kommer lyfta Tested till nya oanade nivåer!
Simone is Living the Life that I am dreaming of.
it’s great to see an insight of a visitor, I’ve been living in Shenzhen for the past 2 years, occasionally I feel soaked on the routine and end up not appreciating the great place it really is, thank you for the video!! appreciate the energy!
Great new host, nice manner abour her and interesting video, never knew that place existed, thanks. :D
those things shouldnt be called hoverboards >:(
+Joey Ouyang Or Drones.
+Joey Ouyang We were born in the wrong universe.
+Joey Ouyang Sometimes we have to use words we know to make an understandable sentence, she's young, shell learn. :-)
I do not know either what that wheely thingie is called. :-D
+Joey Ouyang English isn't her first language
+Joey Ouyang A lot of them are marked as hoverboards...
Lovely to see you on Tested.
I like the fact that she wasn't shy to video record herself without being "ready," such as hair, face, and the room, compared to the way she is when she is in public. :)
It's like the Radio Shack mothership.
Ooooh she's the girl who made the robotic face slap wake up alarm thingy!
*pokes finger in brash fittings* "I dont know what I am doing. It's a pretty good feeling, haha". I would do the same thing, and then buy 100 of them for 50 cents. I would spend so much money on electrical components for projects that I don't even have yet.
Simone, my worlds are colliding with you now on Tested and I love it. So glad you're here now.
fun times with Simone!
As an industrial design student I am so envious of you!
Hodgepodge I’m in the same boat as you man! Just imagine living near it and needing a specific component or PCB printed for a working prototype. God it’s heaven on earth haha. 🙂
"this one time in band camp..."
Simone brings a breath of fresh air to tested
Simone is awesome! Great addition to the channel.
At 4:16 she was playing the opening of Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No 1. A minor moment in the video, but that's one of my favorite pieces of music :)
Came here to figure out the name of that song. Has been stuck in my head for ages and I never knew it until now. Thanks sir.
Aaah, Satie, yeaah!
TheMasonX i noticed, i just got a piano and it was the second thing i learned. First was song of storms from zelda.
Damn you. I knew it straight away too and thought I was so special, until I saw your comment. Haha.
It's minecraft music
Glad to see Simone as part of the tested team!
I really enjoyed this video :) Hope more of them are to come.
wow the comments, its like simone is the only girl in the engineering class.
She is.
+Gaj B lol what? In the arts, it's mostly women
+Axe Avier Sure, when they are young. Then what? Get a job as an artist? Good luck. This is why women have a high population in the medical and social services fields.
Neceros Social services have been female dominated for the past century or two, as was the medical field for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, I call poppycock on your claim given how absurd and extreme it is. Are you telling me that women go into both of those fields because they gave up on the creative field?!
Axe Avier There is no creative field. Everyone is creative. But yes, most people drop arts studies because they realize it won't make them money.
+Simone Giertz Gratulerar till första egna videon! Tested kommer bli mer intressant nu med ännu en galen uppfinnare XD
Lived in China for 2 years... These places are HUGE! It's so fun to go there.. all the cool stuff and cheap too!
congrats on joining the show! Looking forward to see how you contribute to the weird and wonderful Tested crew.
99% perfekt engelska :) nice att se en tjej på tested med :D
+Eddie Badenmark definitivt :)
Tänk dig Ola-Conny på Tested - usch.
+MarCuseusFX haha och speciellt i den affären :p
Helavetta helja sketta betta metta AHahahahAHA!
AlexandraJohnsson Ola hyvää
Wow Simone you are great! Subbed just because you rock!
As a tinkerer and drone enthusiast, I have now seen heaven.
My god, the sheer amount of DIY goodness packed into that market. I could have my cheap robot army ready in a matter of weeks.
+SvenOkonomi It's not just the market. A lot of the electronics manufacturing companies themselves are located there. There are areas wherein whole avenues of buildings are dedicated to electronics manufacturing companies.A business partner of mine explained that the reason for this boom is that, aside from declaring parts of the province as special economic zones, the government established large semiconductor and electronics component factories in that area. That, coupled with the province's proximity to Hong Kong lead to entrepreneurs all around China rushing into the province to establish their businesses.
Simone is amazing. Jag älskar dig!
Welcome Simone!!!
omg its Simone Giertz :D So stoked she joined tested! Good call guys (´⌣`ʃƪ)
My favourite thing is walking around places that have actual products that you can see and touch, would love to visit these kinds of places sometime.
Nice bit of reportage. Great use of the Floordrobe concept in the hotel room too!
Wookie noise at 2:28
......
I am a native Chinese and i created a channel focused on unboxing review Chinese products, we uploaded 15 episodes already, pls come and check out!
King of HuaQiangBei are u from china?
yes, u may find out in our channel.
wookie/pigeon
YAY Simone!!!
I'm so happy that Tested and Simone Giertz work together. Peanutbutter and Jelly, man.
Glad Tested added Simone to the team.
So funny to me. I am expecting a delivery from their today. Didn't realize how huge it was.
+Thomas Myers A lot of components I order through Amazon come from there.
omg at 1:47 what are those switches at the top that are rectangular?! ive been looking for those forever
Good energy, pleasant personality. Thank you.
Riktigt häftigt detta!
The home of almost every dodgy component in every EEVBlog teardown.
Or it could be paradise to pros :) everything is freaking cheap..
is this the same person that makes the funny robots?
yes
sadman hoque No, not funny, she is the Queen of crappy robots, lol
petergreen1994 *shitty robots
She is not just person...she is Queeen.....respect
Well played Tested, good catch!
Very cool video! Thanks!
The drone and hoverboard battery explode thing is due to 1) shitty li-po batteries 2) shitty charge/discharge circuits 3) improper treatment of batteries.
Built and handled properly, they're safe enough for your pocket (cellphone).
Something really fun looking like hoverboards shouldn't be getting a bad rap and get banned because of shoddy builds and kneejerk reactions
+Tony Chan They probably don't want a board failing and leading to someone taking a nose dive into the tracks. That, and it cuts down on overt douchebagery.
Fewer explosions. Explosions!!!
Hey i love the new tested member. Shes cute and smart. Keep it going!
I lived in Shenzhen for 3 and a half years and that electronics market is huge
Super impressed with Simone's pronunciation! Congratulations on getting the Tested gig. Doing great already.
+madhaha She speaks Mandarin fluently.
I subbed just for simone
So that's where all of my purchases on AliExpress and eBay are shipped from. Cool!
Arjun Amin exactly
I went to Tokyo last summer. And I found a market like this one but in smaller like 3 floors + some small electronics streets shops all around Akihabara. As I am a electronics embedded developer, this kind of markets are like a DREAM COME TRUE :) Nice video.
+Max ime Yeah,in china mainland most of the time we buy these from Taobao.com. You can try. Some of them very cheap, esp8266, allwinner, rockchip SoC.
A good start! More, please!
2:31 is she predict the galaxy note 7 new feature?
I think im in love
Fascinating! I'd love to go there some day.
Awesome video Simone! Your a great addition to the tested team!
Why Jamie in the logo thing but not in the actual show?
+nonames000 he is in the show, just not very often. He does have some awesome stories about his life. You should look them up.
He appears sometimes.
+nonames000 The Hyneman is very elusive, only the patient are rewarded with fleeting glimpses
That's what I was wondering too!
They should figure out a way to utilize the exploding battery in those "hoverboards" funnel the force for one last rocketing blast of acceleration before your lame form of transport is dead
+shredBucketheadshred Like a rocket boost
+shredBucketheadshred Thought i was the only one thinking about it. Too much redline watching for me.
This is my hometown. I really miss there. Huaqiangbei is a huge place and it has a lot of electronic market in it.They sell their products to everywhere in the world.
loved this video nice change to regular content (which is also great)
1 Kuai (1 RMB) = 15 US Cents
= 1 days wages in the sweatshop factories.
Too bad you didn't talk to any native in this video, even though you can speak mandarin fluently...
I alllways go there when I stop over shenzhen... awesssome to see new gadgets..
I'm incredibly sad that I couldn't get to hang out with you in Turkey. I would really love that. Thanks for all your awesomeness. Cheers!
is this the same girl that living on a boat?
lifescience2050 yes
To elaborate on why Shenzhen is the powerhouse it is today:
This 'economic free zone' that the communist party adapted, was actually a Libertarian Free Market Capitalist platform (almost, but not perfect example of Hayek Economics). China was just getting over its 'Great Leap Forward' and had 70 million people starve to death under its 'far left' policy. They realized they could not sustain the nation on socialist ideology, so they opened up special 'free areas'. (Very Libertarian btw, but not perfect).
These areas had little to no regulation, very little taxes, and no bylaw officers shutting businesses down because the fire exits were too close, or the lighting was bad, or they didn't have CSA approved safety measures.
Un-regulated free markets exist around the world, and those markets land where government backs away and lets the public create something.
If you like Maker-spaces, the Libertarian Free market Capitalism method will make it easier and more affordable for you to create something, and sell to whoever you want to. It is kinda scary how a nation that self identifies itself as communist, made it easier to start a business than you can in the US. Government needs to step out of the way. Free the Makers!
Great documentary was done by Wired Magazine "Future Cities". Watch it. Also as a kicker, watch Tom Woods "The libertarian speech I'd deliver to the whole country'
Free the makers!
Free the makers, let the workers die.
Incorrect. They let the workers become business owners, and let the customers decide.
"These areas had little to no regulation, very little taxes, and no bylaw officers shutting businesses down because the fire exits were too close, or the lighting was bad, or they didn't have CSA approved safety measures."
Safety laws: Government tyranny gone mad.
No wonder everyone views libertarianism as a huge joke.
Many of these ordinary people make a lot of money, then escape china and invest in real estate in Vancouver or Toronto. Free market Capitalism exists, its just too bad the US doesn't take part in it anymore. (hence why the wealth is elsewhere, and middle class Chinese are growing in capital where as... well.... #detroit )
Safety laws actually create monopolies, but hey, thanks for supporting glorious goverment. Chairman Trump or Clinton will give you an extra ration of bread.
Welcome to Tested, Simone!
Wow, you play piano too! I adore how tactile you are, touching masses of cables or the bins of bolts and such. Fun vid!
