@@StrangeGarage OPTIMUM BF16V made in Germany. Seems that the wire came out of the brush and overheated the armature. A new set of brushes only made it work for about 15 minutes and it keeps tripping breakers now.
i tried to build a cnc plasma last year and everything was working fine until the first actual test cut... turns out the high frequency start from my cheap plasma cutter caused interference with the arduino controller and froze/reset it. i tried every solution on the internet to fix it but ended up turning the machine into a cnc router T.T
Yes, the high frequency start causes a lot of problems! I had multiple issues along that line. It took substantial effort for me to get it to work right and I still might not have it 100% right.
I agree. I know if the compressor settings are too dis-similar to each other then one compressor does the majority of the work, but I think it should be more common than it is. I will say my 20 gallon compressor (when it works) makes exactly the same amount of noise as my 6 gallon. Those little ones are just way too loud for how little work they actually do.
What’s your plan for the duty cycle. Just watched your video for the review of the plasma cutter and it sounds like it’s not meant for continuous running. I imagine that some of the cuts will take longer than 5 min.
This is a really good question. I think it will be an issue but hasn't so far. I've ran the machine probably an hour so far and had to replace the tip, but everything else is on point.
I can only assume the high frequency arc start had an effect on the hard drive. My critical error was not hooking up the ground to the workpiece. With a high frequency start the arc is gonna find a path whether you hook it up or not, and it found a path through my computer. It was not a very good night/morning/day.
Deffenatly waiting for this one.
Yesterday I fried the motor on my milling machine. (Know how you feel)
What type of mill?

Not sure why more people don't do multiple compressors. They seem to be cheaper than single big ones.

And you are 100% right, I have run programs that are in excess of 10 minutes.
@@StrangeGarage that’s good to know.
New compressor from Harbor Fright?
Yep. The McGraw 20 gallon, 4.0 SCFM. Works when it wants to.
Why did dur
Shutting off the computer erase mach 3?!

Take that piece of doodoo back.
I'm gonna wait it out, they will take care of it, I promise.
