    Thank you so much. I love your perspective and your ability to teach the information in such a digestible way. This video was exactly what I needed to hear as I am about to lift weights at the gym and have been feeling a bit lost and bored. I’m ramping up the intensity 💪🏼

    Watched this through Instagram but couldn’t comment so came to CZcams to comment! I was exactly the person you described and found out that doing things over and over will help you get stronger through TLM. I’m always thinking about how to do a certain lift better so it’s turned into something that’s not boring. I’m always trying to fine tune things

      Thank you for switching platforms to comment! And we love the focus on improving a certain lift!!

    I actually love doing the “boring” work! Probably because every one of my brain cells is working overtime every time I lift😂 But these tips are great and I’d still be interested in mixing things up on occasion with these knowing they won’t get in the way of my goals.

    I'm a runner who does some lifting, & I do appreciate the diversity of those activities, but this was also convicting/a good reminder to stick to the program on lift days!

    This was such a great reminder for me to identify and re-focus on my specific goals!

    Watching this while stair stepping and I love how well The Lyss Method incorporates all these ideas. Even when I'm deep into race training and my cardio is very structured, the RACE program still provides variety in the lifts with different plyo moves and accessories each block 🙌 but the overall consistency still lets me maintain or gain strength along the way!

    I like the reminder that it's okay to mix it up (sub push ups and db presses for bench press, etc), as well as find more enjoyment in the rest of your lifts to keep it interesting.
    And to check in with yourself on your RPE to keep you mentally checked in

    This was so good to hear because I started feeling like this recently. Now I know I need to up the intensity so I can feel like I'm focusing on the lift rather than going through the motions!

    Let’s say someone does CrossFit or that type of training x4 a week, when would you add the strictly progressive loads? A couple of exercises i.e squat and bench before the class or merge them all together on a separate day?

    • @doclyssfitness
      @doclyssfitness  Před 7 měsíci

      In The Lyss Method, in our METCON plan, we have clients do a structured half lift 3x/week and the other half METCON. Or you can add work in after or do 2 lifts on your own and reduce the # of METCONs if needed, etc.
