its crazy how restricted bikes are now a days. Back in the day it was almost unheard of to get 10whp out of a bike unless you open the motor up. Now a simple flash to get rid of restrictions is 30-75whp. Thats crazy!
Actually you’d get a pretty good bump with just an exhaust and jetting because the factory exhaust didn’t flow great and the jetting matched the exhaust flow. I remember seeing 10+ with just an exhaust and jetting on a 2002 Kawasaki zx9r
Bikes today are more powerful than they were back in the day
It's always been that way.
A number of bikes from 20+years ago could jump over 20hp with a tuned exhaust, carb jetting and airbox mods.
On a bike with 85+hp the increases could be huge.
@@RadDadisRad 10hp from a full exhaust and tuning isn't the same as a click of a button to to gain 30+ with no other mods.
It's actually pretty disgusting how much these bikes are hobbled.
I think the crossplane R1's sound amazing, like a V4R, some of the best sounding bikes out there.
Naw the V4R sounds more like a V Twin than a V4. The Aprilia sounds more like the R1
Aprilia sounds better than the R1 BUT they both are beautiful noise makers. V4S and V4R sounds like v-twins for sure.
@@RadDadisRad lol we agree to disagree my good friend. I think the R1 sounds better than the Aprilia.
@@RadDadisRad Meh. Aprilia doesn't sound good at all.
The R1 sounds way better. Also the V4R sounds like a bike with lose nut bolts 🔩.
V4r sounds awful.
R1 is sweet.
This is my bike and I will have my CZcams video uploaded when I get home so yall can get a little more explanation of the situation and who the other company was.
Keep us posted
Was it brentuned? With that flasher
have a few mods i want to do to my R1 but after im done i definitely want you to do it , love the explinations attention to detail and your website is super user friendly , keep up the good work
That Yoshimura exhaust system sounds great on the cross plane crank Yamaha R1M ❤
That R1M sounds and looks amazing!! Thanks again for the flash tune on my GSXR this past week, bike is running amazing and has never been so smooth in and out of the corners!!
Nice ride bro
The flame @12:29 🔥🔥🔥
I just want to say. You are the best bro. It is your skill making bike go faster gain more horsepower. Love to watching how you make it up
That thing is a menace. Them QS and Autoblips are 👌🏻
Loved the video. I have a 2016 R1M with a Graves exhaust and Flashtune ECU flash 6 years on bike runs great. 182 whp.
Right on
Damn, sounds powerful and smooth as Butter!!! Killing the game Moore Mafa💯
Great video, sound of the bike is amazing 👏 👌 Great job
My old 1992 GSXR-600W made 74 RWHP stock. After a full exhaust, Factory jet kit (pilot/main jets and needles), ignition advance, and cam timing it made 90 RWHP. Now the bikes are neutered electronically.
As far as I know, they're numbered, but not limited production.
They are low production.
Yoshimura is the way to go, I have the same exhaust on my bike but a slip on,it doesn’t make so much power maybe 2-3 hp,but the sound is mint, never thought that it would make that power on a Yamaha!!,on the Suzuki 1k it wasn’t like the best power,Brock’s outperforms it but still a good system after all with a beautiful soundtrack
hey man, great videos. can u do video on actual tuning? its cool see the HP gain
41 whp gain up top is very impressive and the r1 is my dream bike ( not saying its the best in everything) and in my opinion the best.
Sounds awesome.Great work
Dude you have a great intro! One of the best i have seen. When u hear it u think Moore mafia! Nice
Thanks!!
You lucky bastard :))
usually 186 tops from a bone stock engine remap, but, depending on how lucky was the OEM Timing done - meaning - the gears insert on the cams you might get lucky and get the 190.
One in a million R1s :))
Moore Mafia is great service anyway, KUDOS guys. Keep Up.
My 2020 R1M is #839. 1500 made it into the States brother' Great Work!
Definitely one of the nicest bikes money can buy. Unbelievable restriction. Top of the line R1 flatlining 140some horsepower? Not sure if I'm supposed to laugh or cry. Anyways, 190 is super respectable pumping capability, and that sound! Really, really lovely machine!
13:37 Those slick shifts sound too good!! 😍💥
Lambos have a FLAT PLANE crank, just like McLaren and the new C8 Z06 and regular inline 4 cylinder streetbikes. R1s have a CROSS PLANE crank design
You need more caps.
Listen that beautiful cross plane crankshaft sound will always be my favorite 😩🙌🏽🔥🔥
The R1 is the only inline 4 cylinder sport bike that has the flat plane crank, all the others have cross plane crank.
@@clifffortner2461 other way around
I love the sound of the R1m
We appreciate what you do, manufacturer’s hands might be tied, but not yours 👍
i agree the sound is great on ther1m but those vehicles you mention have a flat plane crankshafts not cross plane. the older corvettes use a cross plane crank like the r1m uses. keep up the good content.
This.
Chris Moore is the man! Impressive work with both the tune and fixing the sort of "botched" tune done previously (fiddling with the wiring). Wish I was in SC with my Z H2 letting Chris flash/tune my precious. 🤪
We have place in Wisconsin that will tune the ZH2 and get 245hp at the wheel. They do road race bikes also.
Sounds fantastic, that and the Aprilia V4 make the best noise
Damn it, Wesley got his bike on your channel before mine did! LOL
I have been up there like 4 times, never made it to your channel. I send Wes up there and first time, BAM. On the channel... haha
Mitsubishi went with a cross plane crankshaft. Late 80s. In their turbo four cy engine. Used till 06. Oem crank has done over 1000 hp. From a 2.0.
Biggest fan Powamoto brought all these thumbs ups for ya algorithms 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪
I'm pretty sure I meant to say the new zo6s are going to have a flat plane crank my dude . all in line for motorcycles except Yamaha use flat plane cranks but Yamaha decided to go with the cross plane crank because it's better for power delivery to the rear wheel to the ground. All American v8s are crossplane which gives them that very amazing lope at low RPM. and yes Ferraris and Lamborghinis and other exotics McLaren's have been using flat plane cranks for a good long time.. I am definitely totally pumped to see how the new Z06 stands up against the Ferraris in McLarens of the world.. it will be even more amazing when someone twin turbos one of those things 🤯🤯🤯
That last ten hp for the magic 200 is hiding in those cam degrees. First thing I do with my track bikes is degree the cams and reduce the overlap.
Such a sweet bike that is. Those were some massive flames.
lol smh my 2020 R1M is 0482 and the one in this video is 0483 thats crazy I'm in Chicago mine is still all stock haven't had time to ride .....cool videos brother👍always enjoy the content
Great video! You should include customers ride after the tune reaction.
It wasn't a bad tune before honestly. I just wanted to get a little extra out of it after installing the full exhaust is why I had it dynoed at the same time as having it re tuned.
The crankshaft is connect to the pistons which would give you the firing order. Maybe I'm wrong but the ecu doesn't change the firing order.
Man you really doing your thing
Lamborghinis and the new corvette have a flat plane crank shaft, which is why they have a high pitch sound… like most inline 4 bikes have. The R1 is different bcz it has a cross plane crank shaft like a muscle car. Yamaha deemed it superior to the flat plane crank for its firing order allowing better grip coming out of corners.
I asked this tuner if he'd work on a Aprilia RSV4 factory and he said no.
Not sure why.
@@rowdybroomstick6394 lot harder to tune more time involved. He can probably knock out 2-4jap bikes in the time it take to one Ape.
Bro we all know that. You don’t have to be Wikipedia on us
@@ociel1988 Chris didn’t know that. 🤣
@@rowdybroomstick6394 cuz he only works on Japanese bikes. Tubing euro bikes requires different equipment and it’s a pain in the ass
_wow sounds so good with that yoshi exhaust huh._
outspokentiger has the best tuned and running R1M I have seen to date. That bike is impressive
Tuned I agree but Reaper1k running one unflashed and he gapping them
@@jacinthebox5211 wut
It is if you like to just ride in a straight line.
@@drasticthompson1995 aint that what these guys doing in this video? I didn't see any circuit action. Just straight pulls. Yes. In a straight line.
@@robertstovall7560 yes and no. Bike came in for mid range remedy, not to get those extra 2 more top end horses...
Love that sound. Buddy has Brock exhaust on a 2019 R1 not m. And it sounds awsome. I'm not sure where ecu was done but he didn't mail it to Moore, it is a pretty good job done though. That yoshi is great sound cross plain motor has awsome sound Mt 10's have that awsome sound too.
Correction, It’s a flat plane crank not cross plane crank.
Sounds crisp, and proper.
Hi Chris I have 2020 yamaha r1 here in uk I have just had my bike flashed using woolrich software made 197 bhp before flash and 204 bhp after with spot on fuel air I know you can only compare results if using one dyno as they never read the same but most stock bikes in uk make 194 to 196 bhp notice us bikes airbox intake different to my bike I'm running pipewerx decat pipe mwr he filter and 98 octane fuel cheers stu
Damn Yamaha is nasty with it. Those things sound purdy mean
Wow A massive improvement on that R1 Any mail in ECU flashes available for 2015 2016 model S1000RR ?
Love that idling sound after the Moore flash, is orgasmic 🤯😵😵💫
Why does everything have to be about sex?

Sounds awesome!
I think the bike sounds amazing love it
Even through my phone speaker the sound of that cross plain crank design is giving me wood !
Sheesh, that thing sounds MEAN!!!! I’m thinking about that new Yoshi exhaust for my Busa
Sounds great made good power
I love my Moore mafia r1 flash! Huge gain for low cost! I can finally beat my buddies V4 panigale…
Been out of the game for a while just catchin up. I’m seeing vids of tuners dumping e85 now instead of vp110. What’s needed to make the switch? Injectors? Fuel pump upgrade? Obviously a ecu flash for pretty much new k8 1000 with full titanium arrow. Thanks for your time in advance
Idk if it's the exhaust system itself or the environment but that might be the best sound I heard off a r1m. I'm just saying
Oh yeah you brought that thing back to life
It sound phenomenally Wicked
Man that thing sounds good
Sounds awesome!!
the gains after the flash are night and day! I have the 2020r1m number 888
Only thing I could find related to number produced was approx 600 units in EU. Since it was a online order only they probably gear production to orders entries. MTO production only. Safe to assume 1200 overall. US and EU.
Between 750-1000 are made each yr since 2015 along with the regular r1 so roughly 1000 units a yr
if i'm not wrong Chris, pretty much all low rev V8s are crossplane crankshaft. high rev ones like Ferrari are 180 flats.
Yeah you are correct
Don't tell that to Nascar or Pro Stock guys.
@@RSChris666 what do you mean?
NASCAR runs 9000rpm and has 5.5 liters of displacement
@@moustachio334 NASCAR are NASCAR. we are talking about road legal stuff. in the cas of a Corvette it doesn't rev this high. when a 458 does. but the firing order makes it sound even higher anyway. noise has a lot to do with perception.
like an inline 4 flat screamer sounds like it revs higher for he same rpms than the R1M in crossplane. hence why red lines are relatively close. generally about 1000rpms in favor of the flat screamer. not much more. the advantage of a crossplane is that it's more linear with a much wider powerband. even though it produces slightly less top end hp.
i personally love the R1 sound but i hate the crossplane V8 sound. like i prefer a raging V4 Honda or Ducati MotoGP than a Panigale V4.
Finally got my own Suzuki now Chris, zuke nation😁,you played a part in it from all your video's, had it custom few weeks back!
This was a epic video, keep up the good tunes! Keep us motivated!
I like the sounds of the Yamaha cross plane
The R1m had an order book that opened early and then closed mid year. Yamaha built the ordered number for that year. Only they will know how many got built each year. The engine is the same as the standard bike.
So the Corvette C8 Z06 actually has a flat plane crank, as well as Ferraris etc. it’s funny cause flat plane cranks are exotic in cars but the cross plane crank is exotic in inline 4’s and hence sport bikes
i have a 2023 R1M love it!
the sound of the cross plane engine is class 👌 👏 😊
I was there in person, that's this is loud, I think I want one lol
My bad typos. That thing was loud lol
yea the r1s are class still happy with my gixer tho 😊
Sounds terrible imo opinion
For the first 50% of the revs, yeah. The later half sounds rather blahhh. It's like taking a rumbly barking American V8 and revving it way beyond what normally is done, it just doesn't sound right.
I’ve got a 2021 R1M, from what I’m told the manufacturer told the dealership that only 1400-ish total were made in 2021 but it’s uncertain because less were made in 2021 due to parts shortages. They said for any year model of R1M it’s under 2000 total units made and nobody I know has seen a badge that has over the #2000. I was also told only the top end dealerships in each state that make the most sales get to order these bikes in for their inventory. I went to the largest Yamaha dealership in Texas that had the highest sale rate in the state and they only were allowed to order 1 R1M for the entire year period. They also have a couple hundred R1M’s every year that go to other countries to the dealerships with the highest sale rates. So it’s not many, it was an absolute pain to get mine, but talking power wise I was told they have slightly different tuning from factory which is why they come out more powerful. It’s been proven by many tuners that they are different in power/torque than the base R1.
Z06 has a flat plane crank like ferrari.....and sounds beautiful!!
First bike I have heard which sounds like V8 engine i have heard the H2 an all other bikes but this R1 is brutal.
DR.Mafia ...nice one .
I’m number 1034 I think, not sure how many there are. Would love to see mine on the dyno!
That Yoshi pipe sounds sick bro!
Niceee! And it sounds good but imma SC projects guy for the R1’s
can you do a dyno with R1 flashed with stock can and cat on. It would be great too see what HP you get
A stock ecu is limited by the injector harness wiring, a racing ecu, with necessary harness gets even more out of these New gen bikes
That CZcamsr you talk to in Florida Fast lane D has a R1M
my 2018 r1 193 to the wheel, tunned by the top tunner
Guys you gotta change out the sprockets on these r1 I got about as much of a difference with 2 teeth up in the rear as I did with the ecu flash. Totally different bike 🤘🤘🤘
I had a 2005 R1 that I bought new, and was totally stock. I put it on a dyno, and it made 152hp. Funny thing was that another guy there that day had an identical bike except that his had a full aftermarket exhaust, K&N filter, and a ecu upgrade of some sort. His bike made 153hp. Lol
BTW, I MUCH prefer the sound of the older R1's with their traditional firing order.
These sound so much better than the flat-plane turd buckets
Have you put an r1 on the Dyno with a full graves system with the shorty can? Or does your flash load a map for a 'similar' system?
Good job btw
You Sir are the Man
i think thats the second best exhaust on r1m for me
2016 R1m Here Was Tuned By Superbike unlimited just had a ECU flash but wanna know if your tune will add more power over there's
Would it be safe to say that maybe since the ECU had the EURO pinout, that screwed with the stock US file tune numbers? I’m curious to what the graph would’ve looked like without the EURO pinout.
Would love to see you flash a stock Ninja H2 💚
Isn't the stock setting running lean because of the open intake and exhaust? With stock parts it should make more horsepower than 150 wheel.
You mixed up cross plane vs flat plane cranks. The Lamborghini and c8 z06 sound unique bc they have a flat plane.
That Yoshi sounds amazing!1
The C8 already has a cross plane it's going to have a flat plane crank similar to Ferrari's.
Right you are, C8 Stingray = cross-plane, LT6 Z06 is a bespoke flat plane crank, revs faster and higher like the supercars and other liter bikes (excl. R1) screamers are usually flat plane. Cross plane are throaty.
Exactly. I was surprised that Moore said what he said about Xplanes. For someone so versed in this field…he didn’t sound like he knew what he was talking about…
@@Mitch-Baldwin I think I'll cut Chris some slack, recording the vidya with all that sweet loud sound. The brain knows it, but the mouth sometimes slips.
That pipe is awesome that is the Superbike pipe. That is great gains
AFAIK They are limited to 500 per YEAR. So the numbering resets for each production year.
I love how this beast screams "Let me out of these straps and run wild and free!" just by throttling a little.
And goes phuleeeeeaseeee when letting go of it haha.
The CP4 howl above 7000RPM is addicting when riding it hard.
@12:28 those 2 little rips on the down are soooo! Sweat!
