Absolutely..... shut it off after a few seconds, once you get it cranked up. Don't leave it running. That will kill it well before it's normal life-span. And there is no point, once you blow the fumes out and start up. She also talked about the newer, fuel injected style motors, which most of us have now. And how they differ from the older carbeurated motors... but said... just turn the key. like in your car. Nope. Again, for most of us, and especially Mercruiser folks, it's a half-turn of the key. You hear the beep. Then you should hear the injectors kick in... and then you finish the turn of the key - the rest of the way. Not all boats... but most of them.
LOL Yep. That was the deal-killer for me. Anyone who calls a throttle (control) a remote control.... doesn't know what they're talking about. She's new at this.
@@jimmyz2098 Well, technically she's not wrong. In the manual for my Suzuki outboard the throttle is referred to as the remote control. I still have the template that was used to cut the hole in the fiberglass. Says right on the paper, "remote control". I think this term is used to differentiate from the hand control leaver on older outboards?
do i leave the blower on the whole time or just while i start it?
You can let it run for the whole time. But you can shut it off when you're above idling rpm's :)

She did not show the bole
I hope someone learned something...don't yank on your gear shifter
Nice woman
