I just discover this when i'm playing her in practice mode, since karina can deal true damge on her passive(which is really helpful for killing tanks)and building tank item can increase ur true damage to creeps, it really is viable to karina and very effective her sustainability can increase

When i tested her in practice mode, i found her passive only proc on 3rd attack, so i thought about building MM attack speed build for her and that item set works very well against lord. But not work well on heroes because Karina becomes a squishy hero with Attack Speed build. Not like Magic build which she got more HP from Cloak of Destiny and Concentrated Energy, also recover HP 10% HP after killing from the Concentrated Energy.
Now she can go full tank build because of the change of the jungler. A new playstyle for Karina jungle.
She can kill Lord also even she's tank because of her passive when triggered will give 2000 true damage.

@@AyeAye-yz6dg other jungler? like what? tank jungle? those heroes are weak in the late game. yeah they can tank, but dhs is all needed to kill all of them. maybe your ling is just slow hands, or lack of map awareness. Also, above me, tig and franco? all this time fighting them I've no problems at all. As long as your team are not playing blindfolded, the enemy mid lane coming towards me are just basically 2 free kills.

@@ashranash7838 I used gloo tank to counter karina tank. Gloo can survive from karina burst damage with his ultimate. And because of karina is melee hero gloo can apply sticky passive and climb to karina (in this state gloo get more hp regen). Gloo damage is great, his slow effect so annoying
If u play as tank gloo is great. But lunox, kagura, etc burst hero is best to counter karina tank

It probably happened with the first of many changes with jungling. When the Developers took away the Jungler Items like Ogre Axe out, they swapped it out with Gaurdian Helmet. It was actually viable since Karina needed some tankiness.
I personally use molten essence, golden staff, and thunder belt as her first three item. With golden staff, basically everytime you damage an enemy using a skill, the next true damage passive will be followed up by another true damage passive in quick succession as well as 3 second CD reduction which would make up for tank karina's lack of damage in the late game. This happens because her skills won't trigger golden staff passive while stacking karina's true damage passive.
Note when using this build:
-You shouldn't deal any skill damage before the double true damage passive triggers except if you need to burst down the enemy. It's a waste of skill and would make the golden staff passive useless if you spam 3 skills or more at once
-Her 1st skill enhanced basic attack is considered as skill damage which wont trigger golden staff passive.
i dont think that works
reason being i tried dyroths passive but only activated twice unless you use 1 skill then only use basic attacks thats the only way it works so it might get in the way of a skill combo or killing enemy tank because you need to note skill
@@rodis3193 yes, that's exactly how it works. Skill combo doesn't really matter if you use tank build since you wont have any magic power to scale with.

@@rodis3193 now that i think about it, if you want to spam skill with this build just spam all 4 of her skills at once(1st, 2nd, 1st phase ult, and 2nd phase ult), then spam basic attack for double true dmg passive. In other words, don't stop spamming skills midway because it'll make golden staff passive less effective.
We go back to Brody's tank item again, expect some heavy nerf incoming

@@randomname3786 that would completely ruin her tbh. Karina's charm is to be able to reap high hp heroes, so i doubt they'd do that. But if they do, time to quit this dang game for good. That's just an unnecessary nerf. Imo, she's balanced rn. Since she also falls short when put against heroes in the meta rn, such as Phoveus, Core Hylos, etc.

Although this is fun, we should always keep in mind on what moonton did on brody, yes they might make it stay longer in the current meta but once its done on mpl they probably nerf her.
It was doned in mpl Philippines and doned by the core player WISE but it didn't go effectively though his enemy lineups is all stun which means his doomed for good.

I use guardian helmet and concentrated energy for Karina, the rest for offensive items. You'd be surprised on how much damage she does while having a lot of hp.
Of course, I adjust for certain team compositions, but that is my base build.
This counters the late-game weaknesses that Karina has; Karina tank build lacks the damage for an assassin, so she transforms into a fighter, sort of, but since her only escape options are used for attacking, she doesn't have a way to escape once you commit to a fight and can't sustain as much as other fighters. That's why I think a hybrid build works way better. I can instantly delete any of their backliners, sort of like Natalia, while having the sustain needed to escape.
Remember that Cod is still optional here if not a good starting items since it gives hp, mana and power too.
Moonton is really gonna do something about this. lol Tank jungle is so meta right now. Baxia, Hylos, Belerick, Barats, Tank Karina all are the popular jungles.

its all about mechanic. if we won in mechanics against enemy, any lane would be effective

I think in the Tank karina build, The only magic damage should be Concentrated Energy.
Not only it synergy well with molten essence and thunder belt because it increase your HP, But it also compliment Karina passive. Concentrated Energy regen 20% hp after each kill!

I won't say it's bad, but it scars her pride as an assassin where she is and must be able to swiftly kill her target, and remain squishy unless you choose the correct first targets to stay alive together with sustains like healing ability. Magic items alone are so amazing. Aside from raising the caster's power, their powers are linked as you gain them, and they also provide more than enough sustain unlike most physical items that give little to no HP which allows most low damage skills to kill without so much effort. Every strategy has its weakness, just like this defensive assassin that lacks killing ability againts extremely tanky units in late game, and my usual damage items which are so weak to CCs unless I'm smart enough to wait and attack the targets in correct order. Maybe devs will return her as a true assassin one day after they watch how nutty tank items are to her.

@@na511-o6p to me, it's simple. Defeat all the enemies. There's no assassin with amazing sustain I've known so far (even if you have high skill absorb or spell vamp) so if you want to survive, your skills and knowledges must be applied in every situations.
Karina main here & I've used a mix of def items on her before to try balancing tankiness + reap dmg. I used Dominance ice (instead of Durance) + Athena's shield for anti-magic burst. The rest can be magic dmg items depending on enemies. Thanks for suggesting Thunder Belt, Elgin! Why didn't I think of that hahaha it's so logical and gives nice stats. Will prolly play full Karina tank build

if they keep building tanks even when moonton did not intend them to they might take more concrete measures like jungle knife restriction if it falls way off intended game design

4:05 seriously, me too wanna know. Couple of days,maybe a week ago, few Karina Tank videos appeared in my YT recommendation the same day.
If this became even more popular, I believe she will be adjusted heavily by greatly lowering the base damage in exchange for higher AP ratio, similar to Ekko from LoL.
That's a good balancing solution, especially from them. Though I still remember them constantly nerfing Azir.

@@Arethusa01 Its from her passive, I played Uranus earlier and she could not deal any damage to any of us, even the marksman, until her team backed her up and peeled our hp and it was at that time that she was able to deal a significant amount of damage to us

I’m a Philippines top player in using Karina, just haven’t claimed the badge thanks to so many MMR boosters claiming the top seats, leaving only a few left to be claimed, and also- really, this new META for Karina is crazy HAHAHA. I haven’t used the tank build yet despite having heard and seen it in social media because it just kinda feels so wrong for some reason lmao, “but” I may transition to using it in games where I don’t last too long (more specifically in late games) because Karina wasn’t made for really long games without a 2nd hyper carry in the team, and enemy team’s lineups are composed of CC’s, burst heroes, or high DPS heroes where if you don’t shut them down in one combo by yourself or with the help of teammates, increases the risk of dying and losing the game itself.
My point? She may become more useable and pickable in games where we don’t usually pick her because of those I’ve mentioned earlier. I may resort to this build late game if the risks of losing because of the aforementioned increases, or even by start game do a mix build so I can have a chance in getting that badge. With this tank META for Karina, Karina’s late game efficacy may become a little bit more lenient for Karina users. Just kinda wished they would kick out those “ridiculously” abusing MMR boosters from their top seats. Those with good MMR’s with Karina are ranged from 4,000+ to at least 4,200 or 4,300 for those extremely good with her (and or has good teammates to grind with, or like me- extremely takes care of her). Those boosters have an MMR of 4,600-4,800 lmao.

Tried the build a couple of times, I think at least 2 offensive magic items is still needed. Tank karina is good for early-mid game, but at late you're tanky but really lacking damage.

Fun Fact hyper tank karina is first discovered in MPL ID on 24 September 2021 and it was used by AURA High (or we like to call him Lord High) i also heard that he found it on a ranked match where the enemy was using hyper tank karina 😁😊

A build like these can actually make Karrie full tank jungle viable. Another one that can work with an *almost* full tank build is Gusion, which I do a lot. I usually just build genius wand and CoD, then I full tank him. I also usually take winter truncheon.

Been using this like 2seasons ago from time to time and it is quite effective as long as your teammates don't throw the game just by you picking Karina. Most of the toxic players tend to rely only on "meta" heroes so be careful on picking her.

After seeing this im now gonna use balanced karina. Even though I've been playing karina for months using mage build which is does a lot of damage i do sometimes encounter a moment where in the enemy killed me because i was crowd controlled which is the worst I'll only use 3 magic items and 2 defence the defence items i use depends on the enemy.
Nice video anyways Karina is the biggest pain in my butt she's so hard to kill and worse when I'm either play as a marksman or mega she always targets me first and the tank always have a hard time to keeping her away from me. They always have a hard time to protect me because of Karina.
I'm Karina main but I never tried it and I don't think I'm skilled enough to try and adjust for a new strategy using her lol. But I'll try one of these days

I would say it depends on your enemies because when i tried her again on tank build(adjusted items) i did 9/4/3
Winning cause of a marksman (went late game) so on my opinion if you want early-mid-late damage just stay to regular build(if your solo matching, kinda recommend doing the tank build since your gonna get more cooperative teammates but i still sticj to the regular build)

It really is scary. When the tank build plus karina is so hard to kill with estes on her side. And so annying with a pro tigreal in the enemys team. But we manage to pull it off with only one mistake of the enemys tigreal set. So scary
