The people I respect the most are the ones that admit they don't follow Eminem too much but when they hear his songs they respect and appreciate them SO MUCH. I consider myself this type, cuz I knew of Eminem since I was 12 years old, and heard some here and there, still had massive respect for the little I heard (not a rap genre fan or listener in general but I like a few lone pieces of some new rappers esp.Megan etc when coupled with pop or alt rock). Been listening a bit properly now, all I can say is his global icon status is 100% deserved. That's all. Edit: Just worth mentioning I guess, I'm South Asian with non-English vernaculars and even before I was first introduced to English language music, I HEARD Eminem's name before ANYBODY else. That's testament to his omnipresence
