    For a bit of information of what a genestealer and what the tyranids are. Tyranids are an alien race in warhammer 40k that devour planets and "biomass" to make their species stronger, using the biomass to produce more, stronger tyranids
    Genestealers are a form of tyranids that they send onto plants via asteroids or they infiltrate ships that are heading towards a planet. They are basically scouts who destroy and scout anything that'll "stop" the rest of the tyirands from invading the planet
    That's what I can remember, I'm probably wrong, I love warhammer 40k and i love your vids

    • @kvoltti
      @kvoltti Před 2 lety +11

      additionally Genestealers infect other races so their children are human genestealer hybrids and psychically dominated by the Genestealers. they hid in the fringes of society fermenting unrest and waiting for the tyranid
      Hive Fleets to arrive and prior to the invasion they rise up to attack the world from within.

    • @bluerath
      @bluerath Před 2 lety +6

      From what I remember the figure in the video is a pure strain gene stealer which usually come about after several generations of gene stealer cultist reproducing on the planet and they're basically the ultimate life form for gene stealers able to take on space marines and defeat them in 1 on 1 combat.

      are there females of the species and do you think in a battle, they can stand up to alien xenomorphs?

    • @angrycrusader7047
      @angrycrusader7047 Před 2 lety +6

      @@markknox1194 tyirands don't have a gender, they don't need gender to survive because they produce via other means
      And it'd depend on the xenomorph and tyranid, but most likely the tyranid would win, tyranids are the "perfect" life form, they're whole thing is whatever kills them makes them stronger, and they've been killed countless times but they always come back stronger

    I saw a review of this figure a few days ago and the second I saw the notification for this review I thought 'I'm willing to bet Robo don't know Warhammer, but it's a cool looking figure'. Glad I was right, it shows off Robo's passion for the hobby not being at all restricted.
    It really does look awesome, your comparisons to DC, Marvel and Star Wars make sense (Book of Boba Fett episode 1 creature anyone?), but I could see it alongside NECA's Pinhead figure as a hell demon, or someone could repaint it into some kind of Symbiote type creature, or it's something for Hellboy or Spawn to fight.

    And at the $19.99 price point nothing on the market comes even close. The recent Hasbro price increase and use of the word "Deluxe" to hike it even more means fewer Hasbro figures on my shelf this year. And leaves more room for figures like this one.. The whole Warhammer 40k line are well built well painted and great figures. I do a bit of my own touch up to weather the armor and they turn out fantastic.

    I currently have mine sitting in a throne, reading the (Marvel Select Doom accessories) Darkhold and Book of The Vashanti.

    As an evil extradimensional horror to fight Doctor Strange, it's perfect.

    great review. have a few of these pre-ordered on bbts but they are not in yet so thanks for the amazon heads up. Genestealers are pretty much shock troops for the Tyranid army like the others have said they are sent in a head of the main forces to infiltrate and consume and hybridize with the inhabitants , they are definitely meant to have that crouched look over the standing upright. in addition there is also a grey Artist proof paint yourself figure with bladed arms (aka scything talons ) and chutuluesque style head ( I think called feeder tendrils)

    And MCU Outriders. And Xenomorphs. Among other alien races.
    Savage Land Mutates had a four-armed guy (Barbarus?) and a dwarf with giant cranium (Brainulo?).

    I love this being used as a generic scary creature! Does anyone have any other ideas for figures that could work well for this? I’m thinking the Spawn Violator will be great but wanting to see if there are any other cool scary figs

    I also thought of him as 4th form Frieza and possibly a white Martian. All are on the table for me lol

    Original Genestealers are best in blue purple armour and Original Cultists but New visions would be welcome from Mcfarlane.

    I want to get one and make a creepy Spider-Man SO badly... I'd have to probably buy two to add additional arms, but I want to make it happen.

    Unpopular opinion, but imagine mcfarlane toys having just the Spiderman license. They would've nailed 6 arm Spidey, or heck even Man Spider.

      But would have waited 4 years before giving us a regular, classic Spidey. BOOM!

      @georgemitri1171 Před 2 lety

      @@TheFwoosh Haha Also true, but I can wait since I got plenty of those already. Though a classic Mcfarlane Spidey figure would be awesome.

    • @georgemitri1171
      @georgemitri1171 Před 2 lety

      @@TheFwoosh It would also be better than releasing the same body with a cheap paint job. The new retro body is great but some sculpted details and better paint would've been nice. In the meantime I'll stick with Diamond Select for my Spidey figures, the hasbro stuff just isn't for me.
