- I didn't feel the need to pre-order the Hasbro Marvel Legends Infinity Saga Thor Ragnarok Surtur other than "Oooo, neat action figure!" But when I ran across it on the shelf at Target I couldn't help myself. Impressive!

I hope this sells well so hasbro releases other figures in this size. I want a giant apocalypse in that size -and some smaller sentinels for the rest of us that couldn't give up rent for haslab.

I still can't believe I got this and the Classified Series Barbecue at the same time, you can't get a more ironic pairing than that. He'd better reappear in the opening skit for that figure's review when you get to it Robo!
Jokes aside I'm impressed with this figure, I didn't need a super articulated Surtur but they went all out with it. The height doesn't bother me, since I think they based the figure off of his appearance in at the end of the film where he's reenergized and more muscled, at the beginning he had skinnier, more skeletal proportions, so I don't think this figure's look is even accurate to the opening let alone the size, all that matters to me is he's towering above the other figures on the shelf.
Thankfully my MCU shelf is the top shelf for my Marvel Legends, so I had space to put him up behind the other MCU villains, but I was initially paranoid about him falling and taking those other figures with him. Unlike yours mine had a slightly loose knee joint and somewhat loose ankles when I opened it, so I used some floor polish on a couple of the leg joints and so far I've had no issues after doing that.

I got mine today from Amazon and I was blown away by the actual hight. Pictures don't do justice and while I'm not a fan of Thor this guy makes a fantastic Power Rangers monster.

They already made a 12" Frost Giant. It was for the 3.75" Marvel Universe line. I have one. They should re-release that one.

I am liking this figure, yes, he will be a stand in for a comic Surtur until we get one. But can't complain to much on this one. Think it fits well. Not going to blame this purchase on you this time Robo, usually I say no I don't want a figure than you review it and makes me want it, but this time I already had it. Loved the overview.
Surtur is trying to join the GI Joe classified series. He's got the vertical hinge on his left hand only! (FBD)

Fellow Arkansan here Robo, just picked up my Surtur from "searching in the wild" at Target too!
Surtur could work with a lot of other lines.
I could see him as an entity for the Ghostbusters to capture, or something Skeletor summoned from a another dimension.
I wasn't sure about getting him myself, though I'm starting to reconsider my opinion on him.

As soon as I got this fig out of the packaging he instantly became my favourite ML of all time. I agree with Robo that a few more accessories and better shoulder articulation would be nice though. He’s just so imposing and gets into some fantastic positions.

Love the figure and agree that an alternate inert crown would have made a great accessory--which is why I was SO annoyed when Hasbro said that would actually be included in early solicits only for it not to be included in the end. Also while the knees are tight my figure did end up falling over after a time and knocked over a bunch of figures I had in front of it, so be careful out there when posing!

This is my favorite Infinity line release. It does have limitations but they don’t get rid of the fun factor. I really enjoy that Ragnarok and Guardians get all these characters. I’d really flip over a Kurse, Dark Elves, Ice Giants, and Warriors Three… plenty left to still wow me with.
I do wish that MCU Surtur wasnt reduced to a joke basically in Ragnarok, but he does have a cool design.
Try the McFarlane evil Raiden lighting effect on his arms and sword it looks decent
Great review! Now I’m hungry… I passed cause of the size which is probably a small reason to pass (pun intentional) but if they made him scale accurate it would cost a lot more and too much for most shelves of mine to fit anyway

When this Surtur was released, since I don't collect MCU, I though "If I ever find one at a reduced price this will be my first MCU figure." it took it's time but I bought one on Amazon Spain a minute ago, no shipping, no import taxes and a 18% discount.
Anyone found a way to overcome that shoulder limitation without having to repaint the figure after shaving off some plastic?

Perfect size for the MU 4" scale and the movie tie-in series.
Looks super cool, not for my collection (a few characters, the ones I think are cool) and that's one of my favorite things about your channel I get to watch you play with all these toys that I probably will never get cuz they don't fit thematically (I can't afford them)

Till I flesh out my infinity saga display this guy will be stood behind some mythic legions demons.
I just picked up a couple of these bad boys at Target too!! Sucks that the sculpt on the shoulders hinders him from any lateral movement with his arms, but he's a giant fire demon with a sword, so I just had to get him. LOL
He's like if cloud strife absorbed the ifrit summons into himself ^w^

Try the SHF Thor, it would be slightly better. I am fine with the size, just could have more accessories. Extra head and the separate crown that Thor can carry.

I am always so terrified to pose or handle these sorts of translucent figures after so many bad experiences over the years. I think I will be adding some lighting to mine for display. I have a bunch of Dot LED's and even a Flame effect board leftover from some Lego Lighting kits which should work amazing. I do love that this is a 12" figure. It should be great for those "Classic GI Joe or Barbie Go To Hell" displays. It will also sadly be the best villain fig we have ever gotten to pose up against any number of great modern Gokin. I mean he looks great crossing swords with the GX-71 Voltron.
So weird, as I'm trying to downsize and cancel pre-orders, cause storage and display space. I searched for your thoughts on this a few hours ago and nothing, minutes before going to Amazon I check again and you got it. I paid this off using an Amazon gift card and was considering using that towards the Wolverine set, but now I may keep this. Even if it's hard to take a good pic of a big figure without the wall showing.

Surtur is actually left handed in Ragnarok because his right arm is all crumpled and weak and shit from his previous fight with odin. So that’s why his up and down hinge is on his left hand on the figure and the side to side hinge is on his right 👍

Wish you had the Mcfarlane Snyder Cut Darkseid and Steppenwolf to compare him to. I dont collect MCU at all, but I kinda want him for my DC New God collection. Just have him be a general for Darkseid. Of course both being Kirby creations.
