Back for more is one of TXT's BEST SONGS. Hands down. And I didn't know Anitta before either, but she absolutely slayed it. A collab done true justice.
Anitta is a brazilian singer and her genre is called "brazilian funk". This type of genre is really popular at Rio de Janeiro, and Anitta is spreding this culture all around the world. Before this collab was announced, she told in an enterview here in Brazil that she would do a kpop collab. Knowing the style of her music, everybody tought it would be with like Blackpink or at least another girl group that could match her style. When it was announced that the collab would be with TXT, all the brazilian MOAS got really surprised. And they ATE with this collab, it's just perfect! Anitta's part on this song was produced by KondZilla, that produces most of the brazilian funk songs. I got really happy that she brought her own sound to this song and it could match perfectly with TXT's pop. She went to South Korea herself to record the MV with them, and she tried korean food with the boys. And when they performed together at the VMAs, she brought brazilian food to TXT try. I really loved this friendship they built and this very "cultural" collaboration. As a brazilian MOA, this is definetely my favorite kpop collab ever :)

I love the "it's still somehow not loud enough.*adjusts volume*Okay that's prefect now I'm deaf" at 19:00 I laughed so hard I started coughing(sick as hell right now), cause no joke...me whenever this song comes on. And I love that they just let Anitta have the spotlight during her spot, no one else doing much other than simple background moves, no extra vocals really, perfect choice.
What I like about this music is that the instrumental was SO Anitta... a callab that really fits both music styles. One of my favourite collabs.

to give some background info on anitta:
she's a brazilian singer, composer, dancer, actress, entrepreneur (etc) who recently got a viral global hit with "envolver" just last year, which made it to #1 on spotify global. but she's been super known in brazil since basically forever, her first big hit here dating all the way back to 2013. the genre she mostly sings and basically represents is called "brazilian funk", which relies heavily on sensualization and usually contains very explicit sexual lyrics. the beat that's used on anitta's verse in this song is actually brazilian funk, i thought that was a nice way to blend her feature since that's pretty much her sound. although brazil's native language is portuguese, her recent music has expanded to being only in english or spanish in attempt for a more global reach. and it's been working out for her tbh, she's won "best latin music video" at the vmas for the 2nd year in a row now, going up against names such as bad bunny, rosalía and even shakira. in 2022, she was the first brazilian to ever win in this category and this year, 2023, she was the first brazilian ever to perform at the vmas (and with 2 separate performances too! one solo, and the other being "back for more" with txt, that performance also being txt's first at the vmas). it's safe to say she's been opening a lot of doors for brazilian music on a worldwide spectrum lately, i think she's definitely the most recognizable brazilian celebrity/artist/act globally at this current moment in time

i had the exact same expressions when i first saw/heard BFM, i was literally biting my fist lmaooo. i haven't had such a strong, visceral reaction to any MV in years i swear, it's SOTY for me... hands down. i can't get over how perfect of a song/concept it is for TXT
(on the other hand i thought DILT was really disappointing... i'm just glad it was followed up by BFM cuz BFM really deserved the spotlight as their "breakout" collab imo. i'm eterally grateful they premiered it at the VMAs with such a spectacular performance)

So I'm like maybe 80% convinced that the TXT members and the Jonas Brothers didn't film together in the same shots (despite meeting up in-person) solely because the Jonas Brothers are lowkey short kings, and ofc we know that TXT are giants. Whether it was a pride thing or the height difference just looked awkward in some way, I really don't care. But I do kinda think this is the reason lmao.
Edit for context: The tallest Jonas Brother is Kevin at 5' 9" and Nick is the shortest at 5' 6". TXT are like significantly and noticeably taller with the shortest being Taehyun at 5' 10" and of course we have our giant Soobin at 6' 1". I think especially because TXT are also a fair bit younger, it could've been seen as awkward.

Honestly I haven't really heard the best about Anitta before. I heard a lot more things about her songs not being great and kind of "cringe" songs and lyrics. But then i saw this and I kept seeing praises everywhere for her and I was so confused bcoz I admit that I did enjoy her in this collab too. I still don't know much about her own works but I think she has THE artist vibes in this collab for sure. Especially given how TXT are great performers, to not get overshadowed but also standout was really surprising for me. Really appreciate collabs like this bcoz this is the kind of collab that feels genuine.
Anitta is a nice person but because she is very outspoken/loud/"out there" she gets a lot of hate online (as every woman in pop do). Unfortunate but it is what it is (she is still the most currently famous personality/celebrity from Brazil). she has great music tho, a bit of everything :)
