The prechorus is so angelic and heavenly sounding that the 'the devil said' chorus hits even harder and I LOVE that contrast. TXT does that juxtaposition so well! Like 'Angel or Devil, 'Eternally', or just their range of concepts with elements of magic, whimsy, angst and darkness sewn into the storytelling.

I think Yeonjun has this crazy/insane look. Like he absolutely has lost his mind, and everyone is aware of it.
Meanwhile Beomgyu's has this hidden craziness. Like he can easily go of as this nice pretty boy, but underneath there's this craziness, that comes out, and even when we see it, we still come back for more.
I feel like that's where the cheekiness comes from.

Actually, that's Beomgyu's real personality. His TXT members first impression was of a nice quiet guy but later learned he's the most chaotic and craziest of the bunch. 😂
beomgyu is like a yandere & yeonjun is like a tsundere to me, if you know what i mean.. if you saw them at the first glance, that's how i feel it's not necessarily based on a personality-wise. the members themselves have said that when they first saw yeonjun he looks so intimidating, meanwhile beomgyu is just looks like a nice guy with his flower boy look but when you actually got to know him, he has this serious side that made him looks like a completely different person. idk if that's a right term to describe it or if it actually make sense but that's just my take

I keep saying someone needs to cast Beomgyu in a drama where he can play a character that's kind of evil or insane. He would do it SO WELL. Like Yeonjun's brand of craziness is this chaotic craziness that you might think is fun at first until you realize it's not. Beomgyu's kind is the type where you know he's bad news, you can tell, but you just don't care because it's addicting. If that makes any sense.
REALLY I AGREE WITH YOU SO MUCH. there's this thing of beomgyu really great controlling his expressions also he actually ENJOYING IN ACTING. he also can did imitations so accurately. with his face visual, there's no way kdrama directors not cast him yet it's unbelievable.

for real... like Yeonjun would be the textbook character that posseses pure madness while Beomgyu gives off that vibe of a charming villain who's a hidden crazy side. I don't how to explain it really. But if you have read webtoon, manga stories, Beomgyu is like that, a very tempting character.

I love how the song manages to be both bright & dark, sweet & sensual. I had the exact same thought about that "come a little closer/you whisper" part sounding exactly like Drunk-Dazed, and actually, SSR gives me a similar vibe to D-D overall. The latter is definitely heavier in terms of sound & mood, but both have that hypnotic, spinning-out-of-control feeling that's very compelling. SSR is my favorite title track since Run Away, & I'm excited for their promotions.
100% agree! Run away is still my favourite title track but sugar rush ride is one of my top favourite comebacks they've done so far

That drop from the angelic prechorus to the devilish chorus hits HARD. "gimme gimme more" BEST LINE, PERIODT
I felt the same way at first (9/10), but it is SO ADDICTIVE. If you watch the concept trailer and realize that it is a Peter Pan concept, the music video and lyrics will make even more sense vs the eden idea that some people have. Like the lyrics mentioning him opening the locked door so easily or the feast in the sky - big part of Peter Pan's story. Made me look at the whole story of Peter Pan so differently than the disney version 😅
Everything was shot so well and I think they combined the funky pop sound and sexier sound very well. Nothing sounded forced and the sexiness wasn't shoved at us. It was done in a TXT way and suits them well. Also LOVE the album 💙💛💚
It wasnt like an all time fav the first time I heard it but after reading the lyrics and listening to the whole album, this is like easily my top 3. The album ties everything together and knowing the lore makes this 100000x better

Totally agree, I feel like there's so many visual references to Peter Pan: e.g. the clouds at the start, the forest set, the flower (holds sugary medicine/ poison in Peter Pan), the colours. I feel like it matches more of the visual design of the 2003 film, rather than the Disney version
TXT said that when they got the demo version of Sugar Rush Ride they all laughed, especially Beomgyu. They weren't happy with it but said it improved with their recording. I understand why, I don't know how the song would work whiteout the members' voices and delivery.

One thing TXT excels so much at (aside from dancing, performing, and literally everything else) is falsetto. Its sooooooooaurrr beautiful beyond beautiful. Theyve done falsettos since debut like "Our Summer" so its so great to hear more of it even after theyve done a raspy and grungy pop rock style of singing in 0X1=LOVESONG
This is definitely my favorite txt mv and concept overall. Like how could they mix innocent and sexy concept so well. Knowing it's related to Peter pan ( most likely the original version not the Disney one ) makes me appreciate it even more. As for the song , it keeps getting better and better even tho farewell Neverland might be my favorite in this album.

Thanks for reacting to SRR. To answer your question bout the bh logo, yeah it's the first time they put it in the end. When the teaser was dropped, we suspected that TNC Temptation is all about reversing (based on the theories since the concept trailer). The anti-drop in the chorus hits hard like the build up into it is like hyping you up and then you're prepared for it going up even more then suddenly goes down in a way that will make you feel even stronger. It's so addicting and always playing in my mind xD Also, the MV was shoot in Bali, Indonesia :) I'll hope you review the full album because I love all the songs in it :)
I also like to add that they mentioned in the presscon that they used some parts of "Chunhyangga" in SRR lyrics which is the most famous pansori (musical story telling) in Korea, and they also featured the movements of Korean traditional dance in their choreo.

i was unsure if i fully liked it on the first listen too but as i grew obsessed i came to the realization that this might be the song with their best prechorus ever ??? the falsetto (soobin's siren voice oh my god) is just everything, at least top3 tt for sure.

I only got into TXT with Good Boy Gone Bad comeback and after watching some of their variety shows and such I had settled on Soobin as a bias, and I'm not usually one to change my biases after I choose them but ooooh let me tell you, I am STRUGGLING seeing Beomgyu this comeback. His facial expressions are just insane, I've watched every fancam/facecam so far. Definitely worth.

One thing that changed the game for me with this song is that when you listen to the instrumental, you hear the whistle melody throughout almost the entire thing. The melody ties the entire song together- the guitar strums it, the background vocals sing it, the melody is there, always lingering. It lures you in, you get accustomed to it before the beat drops and the melody comes on strongly. ITS SO INSANE I got chills when I realized it the first time .. like it is EVERYWHERE. The production of the song is crazy.
It definitely got better to me with more listens, actually I’ve never had a song in my head more than I’ve had SRR stuck in my head. it’s been infuriating and amazing in the best way. I’ve been surprised with how much I adore this song, every part of it is alluring and hooks you. I was shocked at first listen, but after just one night it’s like… yeah I can say it’s one of my favorites 😭

They shot all of the MV on location in Bali, Indonesia! They went to lots of places, including a national park where only people who have permission can access the specific spot that they shot on.
man i LOVED the prechorus build up, the sweetness in the lyrics "that devilish smile" is so addicting like woah. this felt like an acid trip for magical hippies and honestly i'm living for it. the innocent yet seductive way they say "let's play" "gimme more", like ????? i was not expecting that melody. i do like the stark contrast between the soft melody vs the rushed sugar rush. it's all of the sugar rush without the sugar crash settling in
Beomgyu is really the right member for this concept, he embodies it so perfectly. Wish he had more lines and center parts but even without that he stood out so much for me
The 'come a little closer' part also reminded me of the 'turning up the party' part in ENHYPHEN's drunk-dazed immediately. Obviously these songs and concepts are very different, I just really like that part and the pace they sing it

Sugar rush ride is very addictive song. I been listening to since it came out and i just keep going back to it.
Beomgyu is really something... He's very pretty and adorable. But he can also be the most evil person ever (not literally) and I would still love him. Like, his smile... The look in his eyes... It's giving evil prince. He needs to be casted in a drama and play Lucifer, or a rich evil pretty guy or something. That's not who he is in real life, but it'd be so much fun.

This MV reminds me so much of the Greek myth of the Lotus-eaters. In the myth, Odysseus and his men were shipwrecked on an island where people ate lotus flowers, which caused them to forget their home and loved ones, and only long to stay with their lotus-eaters, making them sleepy, blissful, and apathetic. You can see Yeonjun and Soobin interact with flowers, Kai touches a lizard that changes psychedelic colors, and Taehyun interacts with the wisteria. Beomgyu is like Odysseus, he realizes what is happening and tries to avoid the butterflies that chase him and Yeonjun, who has fully succumbed.
The music video was shot in Bali, Indonesia. You can see there's a credit in the teaser video that says, "Local production: BALI PROD." There are 4 places in Bali that were used for shooting txt namely in Savana Tianyar, Karangasem then at the Bali Bedugul Botanical Garden which has a big tree on its mv then at Gunung Payung Beach and finally at Banyu Wana Amerta Waterfall. i agree all the shooting locations are very very very beautiful! and many more beautiful nature in Indonesia, you should check it out!
I found the song a little unsatisfying upon first listen, but I kept coming back for more and couldn't stop listening to it, so if that doesn't perfectly describe the feeling of a sugar rush then I don't know what does! I haven't listened to a ton of txt's music, but I absolutely love this song, and the whole album is just fantastic.

I think on first watch, what really got me was the visuals and the switch. With a name like "Sugar Rush Ride", I agree with you cuz I was expecting something extremely bright and pop and sweet. I wasn't prepared for the chorus at all. After a couple of listens, definitely solidified as a top pick though 0x1=lovesong still has me in a chokehold 😅.

Beomgyu bias since Day 1 and Im so happy to see him improve his facial expressions and I just fall for him again and again every cb. Its insane. I think this is definitely his era tbh, but maybe Im just biased. He deserves all the love and support, and so does the other members ❤️

I love how it makes you think that it's gonna be sweet, kind, colorful mv and song, but then "the devil said" comes in and it's just a different dark, maybe even sexy song and it even sounds like some kind of temptation. And after the chorus it brings sweet vibes back like nothing happened. I'm so in love with this song.

The bighit intro put at the end is intentional!! The whole concept of this album is related to Peter Pan's story, hence the setting being the beautiful nature that's supposed to mimick "Neverland". To put it simply, TXT wanted to express the feeling of wanting to stay in their youth/childhood, having a fear of growing up and "leaving Neverland" so in a way this whole concept is them wanting to go back and "reverse time", which explains why bighit put the logo intro at the end of the video!! They did this for all of their trailers and videos for this cb and i love how bighit stuck to that concept👏👏 they described this cb as resfreshing sexy and it matches so well...keeping in mind that this is a Peter Pan concept just makes so much more sense. They filmed the forest and beach scenes in Bali btw!! Sorry for this really long comment but anyways loved the reaction PD!!👍❤️
Sugar Rush Ride grew on me a lot too, I'll be honest, I was shocked by the chorus and didn't really like it at my first listen. But then the second time, and the third time, and the fourth time... I just got it and it got _me_ hook on it like there was crack inside. I'm in love with this whole album, all the songs have that purpose. I honestly think that it's iconic and perfect. They took bold decisions that paid off.
I think I really like the song on first listen (how can I not? It's TXT! They don't have a bad song). In fact, I'd say this is my favourite title track from TXT next to Loser=Lover. The "sugar rush rush, sugar rush rushar" part threw me off a bit and I had a feeling some people would hate that part because it's similiar to "good boy gone bad" chorus (I was right as I found out later), but the more I listen to the song, the more I addicted I am.
@@cloddiehoppers Yeah, about the "Sugar Rush Hush" part I personally love it but I had the same thought, that it was like in GBGB and some people may dislike that the two concepts still shared similarities - cause everyone wanted them to do something completely different. But I love that the transition makes sense and ties the to albums together. Also, in GBGB I at first listen I was iffy about the chorus but the "Good Boy gone bad" part sold me immediately, it want so hard 🔥🔥🔥 So that's funny. That the part that made me sure I adored GBGB felt for some people out of place in SRR.
