  • GPS watches, most of us runners are using one these days. But there are so many out there. Which to choose? I've been using the COROS APEX for a while now and it's size and weight alone are incredible for a watch that packs a 35 hour battery life.
    Check out more on the COROS APEX here: www.coros.com
    UPDATE:
    The 10% discount for coros.com expired on April 30th 2019, but you can still use the code harryj10 and choose a FREE watch band ($30 value) at checkout. COROS shipping is free to US, Canada, UK and major EU countries.

    A buddy used his Coros watch for the Two Oceans Ultra and we both finished at the same time. I was so impressed with the battery life it felt like it was too good to be true! My Garmin Fenix 5 was on 58% left and his Coros on 79% after 7 and a half hours! This was with both watches that had everything enabled and syncing to the phone. It s also HALF the price if the Garmin which is amazing!

    Hi Harry, can you do a long term update video with the watch as you have had it a while now?

    Hard to believe there isn't a single downside?? Comes across a little unbalanced and hard to take seriously. I know reviews aren't really your thing. Maybe something to consider for the future? Either way, always enjoy the content 😀

    What's your wrist size? I have a 6" circumference and I'm hesitant because I don't want to wear a watch that's waaay too big!

  • @ThatFlowState
    @ThatFlowState Před 5 lety +3

    Nice overview. Did you compare the data from the oHR to a chest strap? Wondering that you say it's accurate for you as the majority of reviews I've seen (DC Rainmaker, 5kRunner, RoadTrailRun) all mentioned that it was rather sub par compared to the competition. Battery and price really make that an attractive option though.

    • @gtom84
      @gtom84 Před 5 lety

      Either all those guys' reviews are sponsored by Coros competitors or you've just watched review of Coros Apex from sponsored athlete. If you follow Harry on Strava, you can make a picture of data produced by the watches yourself. :-)

    • @ThatFlowState
      @ThatFlowState Před 5 lety

      @@gtom84 if you read DC Rainmakers review (not sponsored) then you can see that the oHR isn't very good during intervals as he provides the raw data and comparisons to plenty of other watches recordings during the same activity. It's not about if I trust Harry or not, just curious if the comparison was made as it differs from some quite thorough reviews out there.

    • @COROSGlobal
      @COROSGlobal Před 5 lety

      @@ThatFlowState We are confident that our OHR is on par with, if not better than, that of our competitors. OHR varies a lot on the individual basis. We received many positive feedback from our users regarding OHR. Feel free to check out the COROS watch FB user group and interact with amazing COROS users at facebook.com/groups/264741037554861.

    I have had my Coros Apex watch for a month so far and I love it. I only charge my watch every 10 days or so and that's only because it gets down to may be 35%! The accuracy is really good and the Coros app provides good information. As Harry says, it syncs extremely quickly after a run. The watch is also easy to use... both during a run and afterwards.

    Nice detailed review Harry, and happy to see that you're getting what you need from it. As I work for Suunto I would have to say that the Suunto 9 Baro performs better :P, but I do suffer from small wrist and OHR issues with all devices I've tested, but that price point is astonishing for you what you're getting the watch, so pretty amazing.

    How good is this for cycling?

    • @mennomads
      @mennomads Před 4 lety

      Depends on your definition of “good”. You can use it to track your ride with all the normal metrics, but you can also use it to transmit your hart rate to you (compatible) bike GPS. Personally, I prefer a specific bike computer instead of a watch for cycling, and therefore “love” the transmit mode and leave my chest monitor at home.
