Read 56 soon! It features a great villain, Lunatik (the guy Valkyrie is fighting on the cover). He speaks primarily in commercial jingles (not entirely, that would grate on the nerves), is presented as a seriously deadly foe and (this is the most!) is finally revealed to be an alien tyrant with a major god complex named Arisin Turk. The wild world of David Anthony Kraft, writer.
Lunatik is awful, I mean, I'm going to try and take his appearance in #56 at face value rather than weigh it down with all the terrible shit that comes after with his identity... but really, the only interesting thing is the tie to Lobo.
Good issue. It’s hard not to see the Kirby influence on the Presence. As far as Red Guardian, I know a guy takes that role in the late 80s/early 90s but don’t know what happened to her. I assume she is brought back at some point to be killed off in an event that needed cannon fodder?
She appears as Presence's largely speechless companion forever until Darkstar and the Winter Guard when she's finally free from his control. Then I think she died.

Might be the canonical last time he ever used them. I'm sure Roy mentions them plenty in Saga of the Sub-Mariner though.
Always been intrigued by the Presence. Love the art in this one. Rumor has it Sue Richard’s is a huge fan of Sea-Man’s semen.
