His problems extend beyond Mantis and into his medicine cabinet. My reviews of Cap #163 and the Banshee issue are very positive though. I also did the omnibus. I like his Green Lantern too but I notably hate Hal Jordan. There's a review of Vision and Scarlet Witch somewhere and the last FF Epic by him, I go more in-depth in his awfulness - his crackpot insanity/paranoia/delusion and his terrible character writing (and Mantis is only in one of those two).
where do you think falcon man gets all his flying suits? he got the original wings from black panther. did the wakandas just hand him different flight suits through the years? the one in this issue always intrigued me. i can never decide whether i liked it or not. falcon is a great character and i love him. i have all his marvel team up appearances and was mocked for it. captain america symbol of truth was very good comic and i love the art. the rick rememder run with him on cap was good. and the run up to nick spenser secret empire had some very good stories of sam as cap. did you ever read the christopher priest cap and falcon run? it was cancelled in favor of the brubaker run. i really liked it. priest started doing some interesting things with the character that we will never know where he was headed. did you read the post secret empire falcon run? it lasted around 9 issues.
Captain America and Falcon - I liked the plot-line with "Anti-Cap" (and recommended Stern use him in Captain America Corps and give him a proper name, both of which he did!) but the stuff with Falcon was pretty bad. He was being made into a piece of shit the same way Priest made T'Challa a piece of shit i.e. a white person can't say they are being horrific arseholes because he'll accuse us of being racist. He seemed to bizarrely be trying to back-pedal and re-establish Englehart's pimp retcon.
I know you've said you don't like Steve Englehart, but his Captain America was great (and Mantis wasn't in it!).
