  • The future of retail in America is under renewed focus as COVID-19 forces declining retail models to fold. The shopping mall as a retail model has been in decline for years, but the pandemic has hastened its demise. Analysts are now predicting historic retail closures in 2020 of more than double the previous record experienced in 2009. "The Boise Revolution" altered the city's history and set the stage for success.

This is a well made documentary. The concentration of attention to Downtown Boise really came at a cost to the surrounding communities which, during the 80's were somewhat healthy. But when downtown became a popular place to be, the businesses of the surrounding communities suffered.

Really? Which areas were harmed? Eagle, Meridian, Nampa, and other areas have thrived commercially. Like it or not, Boise is the central city in the Treasure Valley. A vibrant downtown is essential to attracting regional development. Downtown Boise is magnificent, and I believe a rising tide lifts all boats.
