One of the many job requirements Pepper Potts has had to deal with over the years is protecting Tony Stark from his worst enemy, namely himself, but thanks to a surprising photo shared by actress Gwyneth Paltrow prior to the release of Avengers: Endgame, many comic book fans believed they had gotten a sneak peek at the next hero to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The photo certainly seemed to show Pepper Potts wearing her Rescue suit and getting ready to become a superhero.
We’ll talk about Pepper’s role in Avengers: Endgame and reveal where the name Morgan Stark came from. We’ll also discuss what this could mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Spider-Man: Far From Home to Phase Four and beyond. The way pepper asked, in beginning of endgame: “but would you be able to rest?”, which is then followed “you can rest now” when tony died.
connecting it this way almost sounds as if Pepper wanted Tony dead.
airlag tony had been anxious about the worlds safety, thats why he made the suit and all else. Pepper tried to stop him but didn’t succeed, she knew he wont stop before he felt the world is safe. That is why she asked him “but can you rest?”. In the end of endgame, Shes accepting her husband demise, and telling him that he had succeed ( we’ll be okay ), and he can rest now.

Tony and Pepper fighting together in endgame was an incredibly satisfying fight to watch just visually.

@ i was really hyped expecting a scene like that (Pepper using her Rescue armor) since Pepper donned part of IronMan's armor during Ironman 3 (when Tony's house is struck by a barrage of missiles). Although the Rescue armor in the comics doesn't have weapons (as far as i remember), it was an awesome scene

I wish Tony and Nebula interacted after they got back to earth...they only spent 22 days locked up lost in space together...I’d imagine those conversations got pretty deep...it’d give Nebula some solid character growth if they showed a real friendship.

Thor's mother has maybe the greatest line in the MCU about every character.

I think with thor trying to give a hint she may knew something was gonna happen, she may very well still be alive. It would all come down to marvel writing as everything does i dont know his name but the sword keeper should also be alive.

Tony’s curse was always not being able to rest because he could never stop worrying about protecting the world and people he loved making it a lot more emotional when he dies and Pepper tells him he can rest. He finally does. Looking back it makes a lot of sense that he dies it’s always been clear that tony wasn’t going to rest until they where all safe.
I was trying to not cry when I saw the movie but after seeing Tony's message ending with an I LOVE YOU 3000 killed me inside 😭😭😭😭

I think that would be awesome but it is difficult to see how they would fit it in considering we would have to wait 10-15 years before she was realistically old enough to be a Hero character.

I suggested that Potts, whatever her role with the company, may continue to invest in the Avengers but will also step up to fill the Tony void by becoming a trainer of sorts. I just love Pepper. She is strong, smart and kind. And that scene fighting beside Tony, wow. As soon I as saw her using the armour, I knew I will do a body paint inspired by that. She is awesome and I hope Gwynet continues in the MCU (even when I read she won't)

I got sad the moment he took all the stones. The bad part is there was another way they could've killed thanos. Look closely at when he pulls out the power stone. That thing ravaged his body the longer he held on to it. All they had to do was take the gauntlet from him and the stone wouldve kill him. Easier said than done I know. Thanos is talking about the events from Infinity War (decimation). Thanos wiping them out and gatheting the stones and gauntlets is inevitable. Look it up, Thanos is on of the comic books' biggest villains, that's why in 2012 Avengers' credit scene they highlighted how powerful Thanos is by having him sit and watch from space.
I absolutely loved how Pepper has a suit just like Tony's and how she took part in the battle against Thanos. Tony must have trained well because she was a badass.

I see Pepper Potts being an administrator and overseer of financial and public relations matters for the Avengers team(s). She will also be part of Avenger reservists who are only called upon when desperately needed.

I remember in AoU he told agent hill “actually he’s the boss(referring to cap), i just buy all the gadgets and make him look cool” thats when i looks at tony as the financial and public guy like at the end of spiderman when he was gonna announce peter as the new addition, as i saw Cap was the leader and strategist till everyone broke apart
@teslagod2003 Like I said, Pepper would be a reserve Avenger for the new team, as Rescue. Her main job is financial and logistical support for the team, but if ever spread thin due to activities, or short handed, she can don the suit.
@teslagod2003 super-brain guys don't do well talking to the press, board of directors, government reps and military (Tony being the unique exception). Those duties would fall to Happy for media relations and Pepper for Congressional Oversight Committee meetings and the operation of Stark Industries.
And remember, Obidiah went power mad....tried to have Tony killed, steal Stark industries, and turn it into a weapons manufacturer.
Not sure why you would organize earth really really big problem solving force that way. You wouldn't use reservists as the in case of emergency break glass team. Those guys need to be the closing crew. The guys who get shit done and kick ass and take names. I get it, sometimes 5 nothin 100 and nothin Rudy can carry that ball to the endzone, and sometimes every warrior on the field no matter how bad they might be may be what wins the day. But you would really want your reservists on the front line and THEN call in your better guys for the big bad problems.

That is what Pepper Potts, or Shuri (TChalla's sister), and Falcon and War Machine (both active military) are. They have other non-avenger responsibilities. So are called only when necessary.

That short moment when Pepper and Tony were fighting back to back in their armors was so awesome. Pepper was pretty good, seems like she has been doing some practicing, or maybe Tony made the suit to automate a lot of things so all Pepper has to do is intend to do something and the suit will calculate all of the necessary adjustments for her to fly or hover in the way she wants. Tony is good at it because he's been at it for so many years, Pepper is still pretty new to it so maybe her has more automation or something...

Is anyone else confused as to how skilled Pepper Pots is at fighting/maneuvering in her suit in Endgame? It never shows when Tony actually gives the suit to her, but it had to have been after the 5 year jump.

Seeing the way Pepper acted in Endgame was perfect. You saw the growth of her character. Yes she started out in Infinity War, trying to get Tony to stop. After the years in the post snap world, Tony was obviously still working on projects (the Rescue suit). She likely realized that Tony can't just STOP working on trying to make the world safer, especially now that they have a kid together.
The line "But would you be able to rest?" is great because she knows Tony so well. It was also sort of an acknowledgement of Tony's growth, seeing how he was now asking her permission basically. He wouldn't have done it before, but now he does. They've grown to be partners.
The line at the end "You can rest now". That caused a few tears. Putting aside her own pain of loosing Tony to let him know that everything will be OK now, all thanks to him. He has accomplished his goal and made the world safe, not only in defeating Thanos, but bringing all of the Avengers back, bringing them all together.
I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next Spiderman movie. Maybe we'll see her take on a role as a mentor for Peter? Or perhaps the next generation of heroes in Young Avengers.
Nothing is in-store for her. Gwyneth Paltrow said she was done with the character.

She also said she was willing to come back for cameos and minor scenes, so Pepper could still play some sort of supportive roll as herself, though probably not Rescue.

Anyone else realize that the heart that says ‘proof that tony stark has a heart’ was from iron man one? Pepper as tony starks assistant gave him the present and used the machine heart that a military from another country gave him. He took out that heart though and recreated his own, so pepper used the old one to make the box.
Iron Man: Armoured Adventures has Pepper Potts as Rescue so I pretty much guessed that would happen.
Idk if it was this channel but when Tony said to Morgan “I love you tons” just before she was supposed to go to sleep, Morgan replied with “I love you 3000.” 3000 is bigger than a ton (yes I know that Tony said tonS but you know) so maybe she has the same brilliant mind as Howard and Tony had, maybe she could take over Stark Industries and make something even stronger and better than the Iron Man suit. Hopefully she also has the same characteristics as her father as well!!! 😂

@@djuno9420 because it is unnecessary. It doesn't have to be about gender bullshit. It creates a weird gender divide. It would be super weird to make a all male team and make some kind of statement with that, just as it would be with an all woman team. Because simply put I would rather not have a gender divide in the MCU.
I always loved the woman characters and would love seeing some as leaders but that should be kept as normal. Like, when we see cap as the leader it wasn't implied that it was because he was a dude. It was just natural. If they can pull that off with a woman leader that would be great.

There could be a movie called RESCUE if Paltrow is as iconic as RDJ but it would be great if it is storylined in climactic events of the new Avengers’ phase
I see someone else knows their comics. I think they're implying with Endgame that Morgan Stark eventually becomes the MCU's Rescue, it makes sense she would inherit the title from her mother after all.
Well more so, Pepper suffered the loss everyone else did in the decimation and maybe more, but got Tony back 5 years earlier than everyone else; her implicit character changes during those ~24ish days would be different than those she endures during those 5 years after they kill Thanos

I loved it when Pepper showed up in her own Iron Man armor, but I wish they would have focused a little more on her part of the battle. I know there was a lot going on and they had to show a lot in a limited amount of time, but I would have still loved to have seen more of her instead of just the little glimpses we got.
