I’m going to watch this show for years to come as a comfort show just like people do with The Office…as long as it doesn’t get cancelled. Imma be so pissed if it gets cancelled…

Harry's epilogues at the end of each episode are really something special. So sweet and profound.

Love this show so much. Good sci fi comedy is so rare. It's up there with The Orville. Most of the appeal comes down to Alan Tudyk.

I hope this show leaves itself open to be long running. I think it's running through all possible conflicts too quickly. Spread it out & keep this show alive... For years to come!

At first I didn't recognize Corey back there as the actor who plays Mike. He's so different, demeanor and even stance when he's himself and not the weird Sherriff :O That's some nice physical acting. Also, wow Alice's hair is so much brighter (and pinker!) here in this light, than in the show.
Love this show! Such a great blend between comedy and science fiction. The writing stands out as unique…not the typical corny, predictable plot line that’s associated with both genres. Incredible actors!! Can’t wait for upcoming seasons. Bravo all 🤩🫶
I know I commented before, but one last thing, 2:50 and 3:00, no it's neither the Moonlighting effect nor the comparison of having a crush on your best friend so you vicariously live through these characters thing.
It's about how it's so rare to see a healthy and sweet romantic relationship portrayed in media that's not based on the whole "oh this is the hot guy and hot girl, let's just hook them up." No, it's about accepting someone for who they are, warts and all. It's learning from one another, it's becoming a better person each time because you take into consideration the other person's concerns. They make you better while they're just being themselves and while you are your true self.
THIS is what people saw in Asta and Harry's relationship and this is the growth and development that people were hoping to see from them. I hate so much how people have this shallow idea of romantic love being based only on looks or just because it's a show's main female/male characters or that it's going to suddenly become overtly sexual. If a romance is based on those surface level ideals then yeah, it's gonna be bad and cringe, but when it's based on genuine care, then it's a storytelling tragedy that they're fully decided on not going that route.
Such a shame.

It's pretty clear that they were never going the Asta/Harry dating route with just how far they've distance the show from the the actual comics.
@@comicbookfrog3534 They're not doing a very good job at it. If they were, you wouldn't have people shipping it in the first place.
There's a way to write fully platonic. And these writers don't know how to distinguish platonic behavioral patterns from romantic ones.
For example, you want obvious platonic? Then:
- Don't make your main character who, sure is childish, but an intelligent adult, be overly protective/concerned about one person as if they're slightly more special than everyone else. That's just sus, especially when said person isn't family.
- Don't have them be so physically intimate. They're constantly embracing for long quiet moments.
- if they're going to embrace, the majority of their hugs have to be short, there have to be back pats, not rubs, pats. Side hugs or single arm hugs are common when platonic friends hug often.
- Don't have your main character compare a romantic/sexual relationship that he had to what he feels for a platonic friend.
- Don't have characters within the show constantly teasing them about being a thing. Jimmy thought he was her boyfriend on two occasions, Asta's grandma wanted her to have his kid, her cousins Drew and Kayla thought/ teased her that he was her bf.
- Don't have questionable scenes like Asta touching his penis, then have Harry say it felt good. What "son" would say that about his "mother" touching his privates?
- (spoilers) Don't have the characters bring that up again in the presence of a new love interest who's clearly jealous of that incident. This is going to send a romantic rivalry vibe, even if you state otherwise. Also, they brought up this, but Harry didn't even mention D'arcy nor his sloppy first kiss? Kind of sus too.
- Don't have your main character sing a romantic song about his feelings and then when he sings, "but I fell in love" have the camera transition to Asta rather than his gf. There's such a thing as a media language, and media speaks through camera focus as well. This is just sus too.
Look, you're getting what you want already. They clearly said it in this interview. I just find it unfair and odd how they expect people to believe one thing, yet they often times feed the opposite idea. Why do that? Why misinterpret basic human behavioral patterns, gestures and mannerisms, and camera work? If it's platonic, then stick with it, don't insert so many sus scenes. That's just torture for people who noticed these questionable scenes and shipped them.
I've yet to see anything resembling a healthy romantic relationship anywhere in this show. I think your wishful thinking is blinding you to the actual dynamics. None of that is happening. It's as friend zoned as it can possibly get.
Honestly, there's a higher probability the romance ends up between Asta and D'arcy before Asta and Harry...but they're also BFFs, sisters, love each other dearly, and sometimes a little too close it skirts that line.

Really love this show. I haven’t watched anything in years. But this is something special. Not since Star Trek the original have I been so invested.
Halfway through 3rd season and I love the relationship scenes. That breakup between Mike and Lena was so sad but at the same time fully understandable. Sometimes ending it is better than one person changing his personality into what you are not just to keep it going a bit longer. I felt that. Sheriff Mike is my favorite character on the show.

They don't even go together. Not that I'm shipping them at all and I don't want to see it but every episode gives me the impression Asta and D'arcy are gonna be end game for the end of the world lol. With one male to keep humanity or alien hybrids going. But I think if the world was ending, those two would unite and be together til the bitter end.
