That crooked knife... the bevel is backwards, is it not? I think they did that for a lazy way of sharpening/honing... but it should be done on the **INSIDE** of the crook... yes? No? Thoughts?
They definitely did a poor job. I think the bevel is supposed to be the way it is ( I've seen quality knifes that are the same), but i don't see why it could not be on the inside aswell. Kinda makes more sense.
@@rotarycrafts8760 Yes - you'd be able to achieve a better angle of attack, without wrenching the wrist so much. you'd be able to work with it while the handle is more well out of the way.
I bought a set on ebay for £15 (approx $20 US) and they're perfectly fine and safe. The gloves that came with them were shite and I cut my hand because of them, but they went in the bin and I bought a pair of leather gloves.
i saw this and i was about to buy it but then i did a little more researching and found flexcut knives. i got the flexcut one instead because i read they are already sharp, and seeing this im kinda glad i did that. thanks for this!!
Glad the video helped. Haha. I did exactly the same as you did an got myself some flexcuts. Flexcut was definetly an upgrade from this set. But as a cheap option, this will work ok'ish

I tried Flexcut and threw them away, i then purchased Drake knives = wow what a difference
Absolute rubbish, go for quality instead
Agreed. Didn't take long before i upgraded to a set of flexcuts. But ey, if you just wanna get started, might still be worth it with this cheap set.

What is bs?
The carving set, or my take on it?
