FIRST RACE OF 2023 || Dorney Lake Standard Distance Duathlon

- In today's video I go and race at my first standard distance duathlon at Dorney Lake Duathlon 2023 in preparation for Outlaw Nottingham 70.3 in May. It went better than I expected and I came away with a 10k pb and a solid performance in the bike and last 5k considering the effort I gave it. I got 9th place overall and 2nd in my age cat which isn't too bad.

@@LewisFordham was a new 10k & 5k PB for me 🙃 10k was 39:52 and my second 5k split was 18:59. So topped off a great day 🙌🏼 More of a strength Hyrox/CrossFit athlete, so to get a sub 40 on a 10k was a big goal of mine. Just found your channel so look forward to seeing your future races bud!
I see they are still making people mount on the slight incline to the bridge, have witnessed absolute carnage there at a few events 😂
Hahaha, my other half was there filming and watching, she said the exact same thing to me after the race! So many people falling over 😂 surprised they haven’t changed that 😂
@@LewisFordham first time I was there you actually mounted past the grass behind that area so you had a bit of flat path to get going, never understood why they changed it only an extra 200m or so
@@triBenjamin it was the same when I did my first one there, I did the triathlon a couple of years ago and both the finish and mount line were in different places, did think it was a bit weird to change it 😂
Have you gotten yourself an EzDisc I see? I’ve ridden mine for over a year now, even got to go to the wind tunnel test day as part of the EzGains team. I believe Clint was at the race aswell.
I certainly have! That’s crazy, that must have been such a cool experience! I don’t know a huge amount about Ez Disc but I assume Clint in one of the founders/owners? Would have nice to chat to him if I had of known haha
