      +171TITO It is an amazing mountain. A village at the base filled with restaurants, and shops and lodging, just steps away from the ski lifts. Ambiance and entertainment everywhere.

    Bonjour et bonne annee! I loved this video and will be viewing your other videos here on CZcams this weekend. I have two questions, but first let me say that I visited Mont-Tremblant for the first time last summer (July 21) as part of a day trip to les Laurentides with a tour group. Fortunately, most of our free time on the day trip was at your fantastic resort. Each of us had four hours to play, dine and stroll, and although I was alone (others were coupled or part of families), I had lots of fun!
    The surprise for me was learning that Mont-Tremblant is a year-round resort; for years I'd been ignorant of that. Also, I was pleasantly shocked to learn that although I don't ski (I'm too frightened to learn at my advanced age -- over 45 but under 60), there's plenty for me to do in l'hiver at Mont-Tremblant! For example, it never occurred to me (sounds silly to admit now) that a non-skiier such as I would be allowed to stay at a hotel or condo at your resort. I can't wait to do that, perhaps near the end of this year. I love, and have always loved snow! I actually prefer to vacation in cities known for their winter sports and, in general winter fun (thus far, that has been Quebec City).
    Now, for my questions: 1) Does your snow school permit older patrons to learn how to ski? If so, on short, non-steep slopes? 2) Is there a bus and/or a train that departs from Montreal regularly during the wintertime to bring visitors directly to Mont-Tremblant? (I'm a non-driver. That's why it took a tour bus trip -- only available in summer or in late spring and summer -- for me to reach Mont-Tremblant at all.) My dream would be to board a bus or train, say, from Downtown Montreal and not exit until the bus or train reaches its final destination of Mont-Tremblant, where I can unload my luggage in a beautiful hotel room or condo; walk around and frolic in the snow; dine both casually and elegantly; try ice-skating again in a looooong time (haven't done that since a horrific accident when I was 9 in an ice rink in a New York City suburb); take a gondola up and then down (since, again, I don't know how to ski); relax in a spa (prior reservations having been made); have a wintry dessert; stroll again; and, finally, sleep in downy comfort and dream of all the snow wonder outside.
    On to Slope Edge's next video ... For now I only can dream.

      Hello AngelOfTheNight 2007,
      Thank you for watching our video. I will try to answer your questions as best as possible. I am not part of the resort so I can't give an official answer.
      1. The snowschool at any mountain is open to any age wanting to learn. Tremblant has some short and non-steep slopes at the base of the mountain served by magic carpet lifts (conveyor belts). They are meant for beginners and are the easiest area on the mountain. You can practice and learn in these areas before moving higher up the mountain into more challenging terrain.
      2. I don't believe there is a train that stops near the mountain or in any proximity. For buses, I would suggest checking ExpressSki or Gendron, they may be the ones running the ski buses that leave from Montreal on weekends. If one of those groups can't help you, I'm sure they can tell you who is running a bus to Tremblant. Being the major ski destination, there are ski buses, I'm just not familiar with all the options.
      Hope you enjoy your next visit to Tremblant. If you want an interesting view while staying in a hotel, I would recommend the Johanssen or St-Bernard hotels, as you can get a room that looks down on Rue des Ramparts (the little street on a hill with all the shops). Or Sommet des Neiges hotel if you want a few of the beginner, base and gondola area of the mountain. Of course, you can't go wrong with any lodging option in the Resort Village.

      All EXCELLENT suggestions! Thank you! I'm going to inquire about the ski buses and begin reaching out to the Johanssen and St-Bernard hotels, find out their rates, etc. Again, a sincere thanks.
      Have a great weekend!!!

    what is the best hotel to stay in? Ski-n-Ski-out?

    • @SlopeEdge
      @SlopeEdge  Před 7 lety +2

      Carlos Herpin all the hotels in the Resort Village are ski in or ski out with some having a 5 minute walk or less from where the snow ends but most are right off the snow directly. My picks for ski in are Sommet des Neiges, Lodge du Montagne, Fairmont and the Hilton Homewood Suites.
