I modified the threaded holes in the body for Stratocaster wiring fabrication and pickguard installation.
Properly centered and pickguard mounted.
I worked on the wiring with less solder in my ideal guitar industry and with a heat level that did not degrade the solder.
Beautiful wiring is difficult.
Thank you for your request.

The wiring restores my faith in humanity.
What an honour it would be to have my guitars upgraded by your work!
Thank you!
🤣🤣🤦♂️
I have a '56 Custom Shop relic. I have swapped in and out various pickups. Right now, I have it back to the original CS pickups. Having seen the video, now I want to rewire it to make it neat and clean like this what Andy has done in this video. Inspiring to say the least!
Best guitar soldering job I've seen from guitar youtubers.
Just stumbled upon your channel. I enjoying watching quality workmanship! It's nice to see someone have pride in their work in this day and age!
I just want to thank you for this amazing video. I am going to be rewiring a Strat soon and will use this video as a tutorial. Again, many many thanks for this and all your videos.
Very good video! Your soldering is the best I have seen while searching for guitar wiring. You bundle the wires so they aren't flopping around and you make your actual soldering very neat.
I got all excited thinking you were about to put some time into a mid-50s Fender, then I saw MJT in the neck pocket!!! Those guys make some beautifully convincing relics. Great work as always, Andy - loved those "jewels" of solder beads you so deftly created. I'd bring every one of my guitars to you without hesitation! 🙏
Thank you!
MJT is a well-known manufacturer.
I did not know that.
One of the absolute best Yotube channels, love your work!
This is so therapeutic to watch. Great stuff & workmanship!
Once again Andy, great work and a pleasure to watch!
Thank you!
This has been incredibly relaxing. Thanks!
Love your work Andy! Also love the lighting, angles, and camera work!
I love how precise and meticulous your work process is. You are a true craftsman.
Thank you!
Meticulous is a perfect use of a word. Perfection is what I would add.
Your soldering skills are incredible... And camera too.
Top work. You obviously know your craft!
Amazing work as always, Andy!! Learned a bunch of new things watching you work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us!!
Wow, such a meticulous work!
Thank you!
Excellent work and attention to detail verging on overkill. A good thing you don't work on production but however your soldering and wire positioning is top notch. I personally would have done a common ground.
that's one lovely guitar. Love the way the finish checked naturally. Also that's some stunning work to wire up a strat. huge lessons learnt
I have a MJT telecaster custom in gold and a MJT ash strart in natural, two the best guitars ive ever heard or played

Very similar to my workstyle. I have also very similar tools.
5/5 from a profesisonal for your craftsmanship . Solid solder joints, nice wire work.
The final product looks absolutly great. Very nice to see that.

Excelente trabajo amigo!!!!!
Felicitaciones.

Nice work! What is that tool you used to clamp those wires on the potentiometer and capacitor?
Me encantan tus videos
Thank you!
So satisfying i wonder what capacitor did he use for that strat
I missed you andy!
Thank you!
Sorry for the slow frequency of video uploads!
What did you use on the fretboard? It looks different than what you've given in the link. Thank you!
How wonderful is this?
I'm a practical guy and likes to do stuff that needs doing.
Electrics though are beyond my comprehension other than basic maintenance.
I watch this and applaud the skill and knowledge, yet at the same time have no clue as to whatsoever is happening.
I hope to upload an explanatory video at some point.
@@Andybassguitar thanks for the reply. That'll be something to look forward to.

I see you use a heat sink for the pot lugs but not on the capacitor.
Also you do use metal clamps for the spring claw which act as a heat sink, is there a reason you do it this way?
lovely neat job 👌
So satisfying..
Can you add a link to the wiring diagram? I think I know what it is but I am not 100% sure.
Great
Thank you!
Hello there can i ask about the pot u used on volume and tone
What is on volume (A or B) and also on the tone (A or B)?
At the end what u put on the fret board? Is it wax? And what kind of wax that is?
Please answer
Thank you🙏

Perfekt👍👍👍

Why not put together every ground?
What brand are those small handy clamps you use when soldering?
Thank you!

3rd fret probs need more work otherwise really good . Try using more protection . Just a tip Andy
Pure art!, your works are amazing dude...
P.D.: What soldering iron are you using?
The soldering iron is HAKKO FX600A.
amzn.to/3MKgicj
Thanks!
A Mark Jennings (mjtele) body. Those are some of the best reliced ones.
@@witchell8976 You get what you pay for 😉
It was a very ringing body.
And now the guitar is sounding better?
That's A+ work. Thanks for idea of iron clamps which holds wire together. How much money you get for this job(if it not a secret ofc)? What's in that jar, for fingerboard? Looks tasty
Thank you!
Prices are secret.
The fretboard is coated with beeswax wax.
Isn't that strat extra thin?
Wow what a beauty job. Just one question, connect the barrel of the tone and the volume with a wire it's not reduntant? You already have the connection from the shielding of the pickguard. Just a question not a judgement.
Shield tape on the pickguard is not enough.
If the pot comes loose, the ground will be disconnected.
This is true for many Fender guitars, but it is sad that there is no ground wire.
@@Andybassguitar thank you for the answer.
Good afternoon! Are these good potentiometers? Where to buy (give a link). Thank you. Health!!!
jp.rs-online.com/web/p/potentiometers/4897555
I recommend a potentiometer from Tokyo Cosmos.
I think it is the best quality in the world.
I have my preferences, though.
is that a paste wax you're using on the finger board?
Incredible work.
Liked the use of hand tools .
May i ask where you got the locking pliers in 10:44 ?
That's what I'd like to know

@@ranius7388 Same here. Just ordered. Can't wait
Great. I do think the Freeway switch offers worthwhile variations (especially bridge & neck) while keeping standard positions intact, but that would be the only upgrade. (I added phase reverse push-pulls along with the Freeway switch, but my Strat is for recording purposes, mostly.)
Wonderful work ...what material you use for fingerboard ? Thanks
Thank you!
I think it is a rose fretboard.
@@Andybassguitar i talk cream that you use for the fingerboard thanks
@@marcomagnoni7341 It is the original beeswax wax.
@@Andybassguitar thanks
How hot was the soldering iron?
Anyone else feel like a hack after watching Andy work?

Am I the only one blowing on solder while watching the video? -)
This guy turns a 10 minute job into a 2 hour job, fitting a pickguard 😂😂😂
Also why are you running a shield plate but still wiring the pots together that eliminates the need for that.
I don't even know what that says and there is no way to translate it.

Did anyone else blow on that first solder joint at 8:24? :0 ss
As a Luther my only criticism would be to heat your pots more before soldering the connections don't seem very conductive . Just a tip
if you saw my soldering joints you would have a seizure
Good job but I just watched the most pointless stuff at the beginning with that pickguard lol. You plugged the holes then pretty much drilled them right back in the same spots lol. Installing a pickguard isn't rocket science but you just made it that. Put your neck on then bridge and line up your pickguard and drill lol.
No kidding.
I didn’t get why he used that chamfer tool on the body, like the head of the screw would sit there, but then put the pick guard on… what does the chamfer do? Am I missing something I should know?
The bevel is to stop the finish cracking and lifting when you put a screw into a freshly drilled hole. I guessing he plugged the holes because they had been enlarged over the years and that’s why the fresh ones where drilled more or less in the same spot.
@jimir68 I think he just did it cause it wasn't lined up correctly enough for him really cause that's why he is working a mathematical problem marking everything and putting it back on there lol. It could have been but I think that's not an old body so I don't see the screw hoke being blown out unless someone changed pickguards a bunch on it maybe. The finish will still check off that screw hole no matter what but I believe it's a relic anyway so I don't see the point in that really but I see what your saying
Loads of totally unnecessary poncing about for the scratch plate holes.
He counter sinks the screw holes.. even though there's a pickguard goin on top.. this is just nonsense for the camera. People on here think he's some kind of master now 😂😂
