Amazing what people do to such fine instruments... Thank you so much for finding and restoring these beautiful examples back to something pleasing to gaze on... This Fender is just gorgeous
My best guess is that in Japan MIJ Fenders are more common and widely circulated (making them more affordable second hand), and thus people tend not to be so precious with them.
Hi Friend, MIJ Stratocasters are valuable and excellent guitars. This EVH attempt was a nasty failure. But you've done an amazing job on this beautiful 54 (?) Strat. Well done Man and thank you so much for sharing your outstanding skills ! See you next video...
@@antoine2333 MIJ Strats are better than US but this one is not MIJ. It's even not a Fender. It is fake because there is no serial number or anything on the back of the neck/headstock...
Ya know. I get it, you're guitar is an extension of yourself. But, don't rattlecan a '57 reissue Stratocaster like this. Thank you for bringing this beautiful guitar back to life.

"Original state"? Wow, you weren't kidding. Didn't replace a single screw. Okay, I spoke too soon - new knobs. I can't stand when there's no bushing under the string tree, but VERY impressive.
Beautiful job but you could have cleaned the body a little bit better but thank you for the video job well done I really enjoy watching these they relax me and make me feel good
It looked like an Eddie Van Halen guitar before. Then after restoring the instrument, now it's a whole new and clean Fender Stratocaster 😊 Excellent job 👏
Love watching your vids, maybe some of your music in the background during the restoration as they are pretty long videos. Love and peace from Sydney, Australia
For all those who want to hear this in actual time (this video was sped up at the end) you can adjust the play back speed with the * button that looks like a gear. Set this at 75% speed.
El guitarrista en la prueba es muy sofisticado y no deja lucir bien la guitarra, que por cierto quedó extraordinaria, pero deben cambiar de guitarrista en la prueba de sonido......
Perfect restoration as always. What is the product you used to strip off the red paint (Paint Remover - ニッペ ペイント塗料はがし剤) ? It did not damage the clear under the red. I need something like this for my 1965 Fender Mustang. Any thing like this in the USA?
I liked the before look...just needed a humbucker ❤🩹EVH😉Seriously though, many original Fenders were 'personalized' beyond recognition back before 'Vintage mania' much to the horror of modern day collector & coveters .it really IS just a hunk of wood, to do whatever thou wilt. These guitars had personality and utility in their 'before' states & tell a story of creative individualism. The restoration process is a fascinating exercise, and an example of the durability of these guitar's elements and their utility.
yeah i was thinking about this, some i can see like yeah no it hsould be restored but this one looked fine, it just needing cleaning, a stratocaster is probabyl one of the most bland instruments out there, but is like a empty canvas for other guitar players to fill in with their personalities, and you can see that on like flea's bass or the rancid bassist that i can't remember his name now's bass, which are filled with stickers of their favorite bands on it and they kick much more ass that a vintage strato
Agreed. I have a 1970s Ibanez, which was the first guitar I ever bought. It's covered in stickers, but said stickers are hiding both the previous owners inept modifications and several dents.
@@a_dogg5277The guy didn’t even bother pulling the knobs off before painting it. Huge runs in the paint, puddles, horrible. The guy didn’t even bother to paint the back of the guitar. Eddie did his own guitar himself and actually took the time to do it right.

Thank you for saving so many instruments. They've had a rough life.
My first electric guitar was a Japanese '57 Fender Stratocaster. They are incredible guitars. Glad you restored it!
O yes Japanese strats are the best
I'm glad in a strange way people ruin their instruments and you are here to bring them back to life, these videos bring me a lot of peace
im pretty sure he does the "modifying" himself for content
We have to remember that factory EVH guitars haven't been around that long. Many a guitar were poorly painted to emulate our hero.
Why would anyone do such a horrendous thing to such a beautiful instrument?! Thank you for restoring it! Gorgeous job.
Don't forget that the actual Frankenstrat, had it been anyone else, would have been perfect up here for restoration.

Thank you for your hard work to restore this beautiful guitar!! Some things are meant to be left alone - this guitar is one of them.
Poor poor guitar!!! Glad you saved it!!
Who does such a poor paint job to a MIJ Strat? Fortunately you give some respect and love to the guitar. Congratulations ❤

I liked how it looked. Modified guitars, no matter how "badly" done ads to the story of a guitar. This just erases the history of the instrument.

AWESOME!!!!! You Do Such A Great Job Saving So Many Instruments!!!
one day you can maybe fix that hole in the MESA amp :)
Amazing save of this beautiful MIJ Fender ST57 50s style Stratocaster. Probably from the mid to late 80s, The best strat you can get.
I love EVH as much as the next guy, but I can't believe anyone would do that to a Squier, let alone a Fender.
