    I believe Emily's Fender Jaguar was a gift from John Frusciante.

      No, the one in the Zephyr Song video didn't have block inlays, watch closely. But I agree I think this was a gift from JF because I've seen a photo of him with a guitar that looks absolutely like this one.

    I refuse to believe that Mr. Bohlinger knows as little about the gear they use as he let on. My guess is that his intention is to let the artist discuss why they use certain pieces of equipment and how they interpret the sound that comes out rather than constantly interjecting trite cliches. And the way that he skillfully angles his torso so that his chiseled abs peek through a thin shirt and into most favorable lighting...sublime. This is how all interviews should be. STEP UP YOUR GAME, BARBARA WALTERS!

    I totally get what Emily says about not realizing the chorus is on until she hears it from the sound guy. I play with chorus on most of the time, and after a while I go what I call "chorus deaf" where you're so used to the pitch modulation that your brain adapts and you don't hear it. Wild stuff.

    I do admire the vintage Jaguar and I love that Theresa plays a Mustang as my favorite guitar that i own is a Mar 8th 1965 Fender Mustang... i mention the exact date cus in fender history cbs bought fender in jan 1965 but the cheaper cbs parts didnt come in until later in the summer of 65. So i take pride my Mustang was made the original fender way and parts. So btwn the 2 of em, they have a great taste in guitars and amps. I use to be all about effects pedals until mine were all stolen at a studio here in nyc. Now im all about just plugging into the amp and no pedals. Its to easy with pedals. I like changing tone with my fingers or a pik.

    • @lassesuurmunne8340
      @lassesuurmunne8340 Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah the pre cbs ones sound and play amazingly well. I got beyond lucky this year and an Instagram pal sold me his very early 1964 Mustang, mine is one of the earliest made. It’s Dakota red like Theresa’s but has clay dots and the pre cbs headstock just like your’s. I wanted either a 64 or early 65. I’ve also heard that the pickups were better before the cbs models. I could never change the pickups on mine they’re the best sounding Mustang pickups I’ve heard. But I’m sure the 66 that she has is good, but as you can see she changed the original pickups to Seymour Duncan hot stack strat pickups. With those early 80’s red covers they suit her Mustang really well. I might buy a pair to put on one of my other Mustangs, or get the Seymour Duncan antiquity ii Mustang pickups to get closer to the 64’s sound. What colour is your Stang? They’re also my favorite guitars. They’re just so comfortable to play and to my eyes they’re the most beautiful guitar ever made. Having said that I love all Fenders really. And almost all guitars lol

    • @lassesuurmunne8340
      @lassesuurmunne8340 Před 3 lety +1

      And also I did once get to try a 22,5 scale 66 Mustang. That had such a nice solid neck, that I think you can find very nice post cbs ones, you just might wanna swap out the pickups. But that 22,5 scale neck was fun to play. But of course I feel fortunate to have the 24 scale. It’s my main guitar. A 22,5 scale would be just a very fun guitar to play around with at home. Might try to get one one day

    • @ryannolan9410
      @ryannolan9410 Před 3 lety +1

      @@lassesuurmunne8340 My mustang is turquoise with pearl pick guard. I do suspect that this was not the original color or that a primer was used before the turquoise gloss coat because in a few places where the paint has chipped or worn away I can see a red color. It looks dull not glossy at all so that's why I think it's a primer. Have you ever removed the neck from the body to see the date stamp on your '66?

    • @lassesuurmunne8340
      @lassesuurmunne8340 Před 3 lety

      @@ryannolan9410 Oh I don’t own that 66 I tried. I have an early 64 24 scale Dakota red one. I haven’t removed the neck yet. But I’ll check if I can find the photo the previous owner took of the date stamp. Mine is very early, even the bobbins on the bottom of the pickups are still the back not grey ones. Wish I could show you pictures. I wonder if your’s is a daphne blue Stang? That’s gone a bit more green, could that be? Ok I found the photo of the date stamp. Mine is stamped July 1964. So one of the earliest since the Mustang was launched in August. Mine is also near mint because the original owner kept it as a decoration at his guitar store in a glass cabinet or something like that and hardly ever played it. Still has the original frets even and they’re not worn out! I got incredibly lucky. My most precious possession that I will ever own 🙏. I might hunt for a 22,5 scale Stang later on I dunno. Probably not though. I’m pretty broke, I sold a lot of gear to get this 64 Stang but it was worth it. And I’m sure yours is just as nice. I wasn’t looking for a near mint one, I just wanted one that sounded good and played well. The only thing was that it took a little to get used to the A neck, it was more narrow than any other Stang I’ve ever tried but fortunately it wasn’t a problem for my fingers. And it’s by far the nicest Stang I’ve ever tried. Also the nicest Fender and guitar I’ve ever played. Although I’m quite biased since the Mustang is my favorite guitar in the world 🙏 haha

    Holy shit, is the club on fire ((is TN 420 recreationally friendly)) .. Emily, I love your honesty, speak the truth for the sound & soul of strings that don't have major record label budget endorsements with D'ddddario's falling out of your 3 guitar techs cabinets making up guitar world. 3-6 month old strings ... if they survive more than a week ... sound amazing, like an Ovation.

    I could have sworn they were using an Electro-Harmonix Poly Chorus, which I loved but broke. With my 68' Jaguar with a Gibson bridge. Also my 69' red Mustang. Which I notice they also use

    I love the way that so many artists... from Brian May to Emily here to more others than I can count... (but I do it myself, so I always notice)... use rubber sealing-rings from (Grolsh?) beer bottles to stop their guitar straps falling off. That round red thing.
