just did my first ever points transfer from Amex to Delta. I have watched dozens and dozens of videos on here and never heard anyone mention that they charge you a fee to transfer the points. Guess the $28 transfer fee I had to pay is still cheaper than the $535 flight, but still surprised no one has ever mentioned it
That's a great data point, thanks for sharing! What did you end up booking with Delta?
@@KevinYang well nothing yet...transferred points and it took about 12 hours to transfer the points. In that time frame, the cost of the flight went up and it now costs more points..so had to transfer over some more and wait again. Wish it was instant. But eventually will be using them to fly to Miami. Not best maximization of the points but still a free flight
A very good reason not have American express, and I never wanted to apply for any of them. And the Platinum is a coupon card, and so difficult to use the credits. I have no idea why some like this card. You would need an assistant to navigate through when to use which credit. Also, most business dont accpept American express when you travel with their so-called-travel! LOL! I am a chase customer through and through.
@@trave7644 I think it has a smaller target audience than Chase for sure! Though for that audience of people who already use those service, it's a card that can provide a real strong punch!
@@trave7644well you’re biased from the jump. I have yet to get denied my Amex at any restaurant, bar or retail store. All credit cards make you jump through hoops, even chase. I have Chase & Amex & still prefer Amex because of customer service, insurance on purchases & yes discounts you wouldn’t get from other cards. Yearly fees get wiped out pretty quick with my spending habits.
Awesome breakdown Kevin!
Thanks for watching!
Great video here Kevin! American Express certainly has a very valuable credit card ecosystem, with Chase vs AMEX GOAT Conversation being like Lebron vs Jordan haha. I have the AMEX Gold, plan to get the BBP in the next month or too and will probably get the AMEX Plat sometime in 2024 to complete my AMEX Trifecta. Love the tips & overview!
Thanks for watching Matt! I really need to get my hands on the Gold!
I don't use Uber Eats or eat at those places enough to make it worth my while to get the gold card. But would be a good deal if you did. Personally I just hate paying annual fees. The perks would have to be worth my while & none of them are for me imo. The everyday cash seems like a great deal though.
Great breakdown of some really nice Amex cards. I’m gonna have to snag the Aspire card at some point… so much value!
Thanks Joshua! Same here... I've seen some people with multiple too!
The Aspire card was my most recent Amex pickup. Have been loving it already 🔥
Nice! How long did it take for you to get your Free Night Award?
Great list I'm an Amex superfan and I have most of these in my collection!
Awesome, which one is your fav?
@@KevinYang no lie I use the gold the most but my fave by a hair is my platinum
@@OfficialChadsMoneyMinutes Yeah the Gold is amazing for sure
Hi, so Blue cash everyday is cash back only-no reward points involved? But if I like to earn points I should go to Amex gold? Sorry I’m so new to Amex and I just got Rakuten I’m trying to figure out my first Amex card. Thanks!
Here are my 5 Amex Cards in my wallet and I listed in order of preference:
1. Platinum
2. Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant
3. Hilton Aspire
4. Gold
5. Delta Reserve
Those are my Amex 5 cards. Till death do us apart 💕!
Nice list! What makes you put the Brilliant > Aspire?
@@KevinYang #1 Marriott properties in general are better than Hilton properties. Plus Marriott properties tend to be in better locations than Hilton. I value more the Platinum status over the Diamond status. I honestly value more the Marriott 85k points free night certificate over the Hilton free night. Lastly, the $300 Restaurant statement credit is the icing on the cake. 🍻
@@Leoprieto74 Yeah that's true, it really depends on the places you go for the Hilton vs Marriott comparisons!
Great video! My top 3 AMEX cards are the Gold, Plat, and Hilton Aspire!
that's the goal for me.. I have the gold personal and business with BBP but want the Aspire then Plat business
I gotta say, that probably has to be my top 3 too!
@@frankh257 The gold personally is such a good everyday card
@@KevinYang absolutely
Just applied for blue cash everyday through resy and got an offer for 10x dining for the next 6 months up to $1500
That's an awesome elevated offer!
Blue cash card is no annual fee first year, then $95.
That’s Blue Cash Preferred
Currently have the Gold. I’m a PhD student so I don’t have time to travel right now so the other cards are not beneficial right now for me. I’m deciding between the annual no fee cards now. This video is helpful in my final decision. Thank you.
You're welcome! Did you come to a conclusion?
@@KevinYang I decided to go with the Blue Cash Preferred, but a message saying I wasn’t eligible for the Welcome offer, etc. I’m guessing because my Gold is less than 6 months old because the other reasons are not applicable. I’m going to wait for 6 months and re-try; there’s no need to get the card if I can’t get the initial benefits of it. I only apply for cards strategically and if don’t make sense, I don’t even bother. I’ll update once I reapply.
Amex Gold👍🏽👌🏾
🚀🚀
Do you get free night after the anniversary with Hilton Aspire? Thanks
According to the verbiage: "Enjoy one Free Night Reward‡ with your new Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card and every year after renewal.‡", sounds like first year too!
@@KevinYang thank you
@@lenadao5148 No problem, thanks for watching!
So the money they give to buy food etc can be use to pay the annual fee?
Which "money" are you referring to?
How about if your a teenager looking for a card can I apply for it
try and get a low-rate card from your local bank first and build your credit score over some time, that's what I did and now I'm ready for an amex card
I’m loving my Amex Setup:
- Platinum MS
- Gold
- BBP
- Delta Reserve
- Hilton Aspire
Aiming to upgrade HH/Surpass to Aspires by 2025.
That's a nice setup! Are you upgrading to get more of those free nights?
@@KevinYang oh yeah! Those FNC’s are practically gold.
@@tristanolarti9671 You travel a ton to jsutify them all well enough?
@@KevinYang thankfully I’ll be able to leverage most credits on all cards naturally. Things like equinox maybe not. Would definitely reevaluate when/if they raise the Aspire AF to $550. Plus who knows how long United Bank / Delta GC methods stay viable for Airline Fee credits.
Separately, your content and channel is awesome. Glad I stumbled on it from the Shifu and Sebby. Keep up the good work.
