I don't find it at all like lalisa...weird. one of the highlights of the video for me, was the expression on Ahyeons face, when we get a front shot of her walking(which we didn't get in lalisa)..she looks like she is briefly dashing. So satisfying
@@David-wm5lc of course it is, the visual is the same, she's walking through the hallway wearing a dress with a long tail then she opens the door... that's exactly the same concept, even a few camera angles are the same, but we know it's not the girls, it's the director, he could have been more original to avoid these kind of comparison

@@offkmla lalisa doesn't walk through a door, she has Chinatown signs around her and changes costume and hairstyle during the walk, Lisa is changing from black and white to pink light. Lisa has no stairs to walk up and importantly the many different angles, especially the front on view of Ahyeon (one of the highlights of the mv) is very different. Some of lalisa's walk is done in silence and she walks slowly, whereas as Ahyeon gives the impression of rushing. There are many more differences and the symbolism of the walk is very different.
You are really reaching to compare the 2, especially when there are 100's of mvs with people walking down hallways. Keep trying to be a hater, but YG stans can see through you.
I love how you could easily tell this was Seo Hyun-Seung directing. He has such a distinct style especially when it comes to set design and use of colour. I love his style and I always appreciate how much of a focus he puts into capturing stuff in camera. Watching the behinds for his music videos is always wild.
I wish more ppl, especially haters could've appreciate and acknowledge who directed the MV first, and not compare BabyMons' MV to BlackPink's

i dont like watching people react to mvs because most of the time they are just watching it and doing nothing but jordan always helps understand it and explain it!
7:32 it’s because their name is BABYMONSTER or BAEMON , so they mixed both together to create a 7 letter long word called “BABYMON” ( they are 7 members) ..
such a beautiful MV to be honest, i especially loved the transition in the end when that "portrait room" appears
Today i understand that YG has his own unique signature and they strive to preserve it. They have no intention of copy his own groups they want to mantain his distinct style. YG once said: we want that when someone listen our songs they think "oh its so YG" they want to preserved their brand through generations. Ain't no way YG would do the same cute sweet girl concept these other kpop groups are doing, im thankful for that, we need some noise in kpop. Many knew YG's style through Blackpink, but all YG groups have used the same musical style since 2006 (2ne1-Big bang) because they consider it their brand. They create music for concerts and for the public that consumes their music not to monopolizes the whole industry
I personally think that is really bad thing. Every artist need to have own preferences and directions in music. Art means create something little by little. It sounds good I won't complain but there is no connection unfortunately. Yg wants to be the brand instead of making his artists the brand, really greedy company , not the best place to become true artist.

Artists in the past chose specific style because it's connects with their life filosophy and artistic vision, not because they are in the company that holds this style. New artistic styles are always dictated by real life, that why one specific style is more popular in a specific time, because in that time it connects with people. If you can talentedly convey real life and what you worry about, you will remain in history as a great artist. Any artistic style always holds message.

It's just crazy to me to say that about Blackpink when their last hit songs were Pink Venom and Shut Down.
I hate comments about groups music like this "their music sounds the same". No it does not? I don't respect this kind of opinion. At least use the word "similar" or talk about certain structures, styles of instruments.
i like them really, as in super. i was so devastated when Ahyeon didn't make it on their debut. but finally they are complete 7 as they should. one thing i noticed is that the pre-chorus 'kinda' 'sounds familiar' with love to hate me by BP
It doesn’t sound familiar, it’s the same just with different lyrics (which is fine, typical YG move). I’m devastated for them though, they deserve their own sound. Their vocals are some of the best I’ve ever seen, not just in kpop, but overall and they deserve to have a an actual creative team that doesn’t recycle sounds. They go way beyond just sampling 😩

Is it weird that I like 'Like That' & 'Monters' (intro) more then 'Sheesh'? Sheesh's intro (Rora & Chiquita), Rami's vocals, Asa's rap and the Tell a friend part are my favourite parts of the song! The MV visuals with the lyrics are a great combo (the maze in the background&piano sheets, the eye shots,covered eyes&all eyes on me, motorbikes&vroomvroom), !! I am looking forward to seeing the whole dance!

Everyone has different taste, sometimes a title track speaks for itself and sometimes it doesn't give but the B-sides are what you are happy with.

I have been into kpop since 1996, which I before they even called it kpop. And YG has always made the best music videos in the industry. That's why they have the highest view counts on their m/v's, and o e big reason why Blackpink has the most subscribed youtube channel of any artist.

I think it’s called babymon bc the Korean name is baemon (i think) and to match the song they needed a extra letter so it gose with the beats so it B-A-B-Y-M-O-N in stead of B-A-E-M-O-N if this helps 😅

This time, they show the idols being watched by eyes at all times, while the seventh member, Ahyeon, walks towards a maze (shaped like the initials BM), where the other 6 are trapped. She becomes another macabre picture on the wall for the industry's collection. This is the first MV that Ahyeon appears in.

Yes. I have been waiting for this.
There are alot of easter eggs here.
1. U see in the start when Rora was sitting playing a piano theres a little map of a maze there, afterwards when the 2nd chorus ends you can see Rora in the maze and when Ahyeon was opening the door (which the door was also has a map of the maze) she teleported to the maze and then walked away saying "BABY i'm a MONSTER."
And then after Chiquita saying "B A B Y M O N Tell a friendx3" Ahyeon was seen in the maze, after they were now in the maze.
2.During the 1st prechorus there was a english lyric here "When i open my eyes, i bloom." The set was a eye with fire outlines it. During the 2nd prechorus, Pharita saying the same thing as Rami. It was a eye flowered shape because flowers are technically known to bloom.
3. When Asa was saying here part "Time's up," As you can see in the side there was shadows of evergreen trees. When Chiquita was saying her part in the dance break she was seen on the evergreen trees, possibly she could be in the evergreen trees.
4. When it was the 2nd chorus it was Ruka and Asa owning it now. When Asa was saying "B A B Y M O N" The B stands for - Rami. The A stands for - Pharita. The B stands for - Ruka.
The Y stands for - Asa.
The M stands for - Chiquita.
O stands for - Ahyeon
N - Rora. Standing the 7 members of BABYMONSTER.
5. When Rora was playing the piano there was ovals where the members were in during the end of the M/V they just removed the piano.
6. During when Rora and Pharita said the start Chiquita said "Mono-a-mono i see u in slow-mo." And when she said "Woo hoo hoo hoo." There were members swaying and in the background there was a open window signing the evergreen trees Chiquita was in the ending of the M/V aka her part in dance break.
That's all. 6 Easter Eggs.

"MON" is an abbreviation for "monster" that many people will recognize. Heck, "PokeMON" is a well known abbreviation for "Pocket Monsters", which is the actual Japanese title for the video game / card game / anime franchize.
So, seeing seeing Babymonster just spell "BABYMON" is a pretty understandable shorting of their group name.
