KBS, one of the broadcasting companies in Korea, did not approve the mv to be aired on their channel but they worked it out. It got approval on second try yesterday.

I think the rose bush and the bathtub scene are just continuations of the themes they had before, like when in unforgiven Kazuha ripped off her wing, or in antifragile they got up casually after getting hit by a meteor. They are basically saying, anything could happen to me, no matter how painful, and i'll shrug it off like it's easy even though it isn't.
I was thinking the same. Maybe those scenes will be continued in a follow up MV.

aside from the (rest of the) mv looking really great, i also thought that bathtub scene was kinda odd... i think it signifies that no matter the hardships they go through, they'll come back stronger, like what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, hence the electricity in her eyes after she dropped the hairdryer (literally 'powering up' i guess). but yea i'm pretty sure there exists plenty other - less triggering - ways in which that metaphor could be shown and it's just a bit questionable why they decided on that particular scene. just my two cents tho, really like this cb and thank you jordan for breaking down the mv it was so interesting!

I actually was a little confused with Sakura's "halfway seraphim" lyrics but in the English version she sings "You call me falling angel, no more seraphim" and I really liked this change although I overral liked the Korean lyrics better.. which is a first for me bc with kpop, especially with R&B/hiphop concepts, you can usually tell the original lyrics are written in English and translated into Korean later, but in this song, as "amerizanazed" as people claim to be, I do really believe was originally written in Korean (well, Konglish) bc the original lyrics are a little bit deeper.
I think halfway seraphim just means half angel, half not. A fallen angel isn’t quite a full angel anymore, right?
If you get more into kpop demos, you'll realize that most koreanized songs have deeper meaning than the og english, I guess they could just fit in more deep meaning in the short amount when in korean than english. So this could possibly be og english. Specially the beat and theme.
@@KissKing143 just with any language you can convey things in relevant cultural terms instead of spelling it out in a different language, for example when we say Romeo and Juliet, people understand that story, but to explain that in a different language you literally have to explain the story so they get the context... it's just like everything else...

We def see a lot of westernized elements with HYBE in general. If anything it seems 80% of strategic marketing, music, to production is worked on by Americans while the Korean team primarily manages the operational aspect. HYBE’s expansion efforts has shifted K-pop to further appeal to western audience. From its inception, we also see that LSFM debut has been marked by a global influence evident in their presentation style as well.
I agree, and to be honest I think a song like Easy holds a lot more appeal for a westernized audience than full English releases… for instance look at IVE’s All Night. It falls flat and won’t hold much appeal for westerners despite it being fully in English.
This is false and doesn’t reflect the reality of HYBE groups. All HYBE groups/sub-labels have an in-house team of producers and choreographers who are Korean. 250 for ADOR, PDogg for BigHit, Zico for KOZ, Wonderkid for Belift, 13 team for Source Music, etc. NewJeans choreographers are Korean, their MV directors are Korean, Min Heejin in charge of their marketing is Korean, and yet NewJeans has the largest Western appeal after BTS.
HYBE knows how to make good music that appeals to both niche kpop stans and mainstream stans, it cuts across markets. They also have the money and reputation to sometimes work with the top Western producers and directors. But the core team is very much Korean.
They banned only this MV from broadcasting. They dont show MV's anyway so no big deal. I saw them playing this song and showed instead the Garage dance video on KBS

Correct, this edit isn't airing. But to be sure, MV shorts are actually played on the networks (KBS/ SBS. MBC and cable JTBC/TVN), typically hyped in like 15s. segments at the end of variety and reality shows, almost never in full.

To be specific the room called Sanctuary it’s not a church. Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in lost angeles has a sanctuary, parlor room, 2 chapel , gym, rooftop basketball court and Parish hall. It also not a Catholic Church, it’s a Presbyterian Church who broke away from Catholic in the 15-16th century.
It’s also in Koreatown in LA and probably happy to work with Korean artists. I just can’t imagine how this is a controversy. Literally John Wick was filmed there with shooting and murder. But somehow THIS is the moment the "rightious stans" decides churches can’t be used as filming locations? It’s just too forced and obvious.

@@soyou4363 I am serious and honest, here hundreds or even millions of people are talking about lesserafim that blasphemes the Catholic/Christian religion because the music video 'easy' was filmed in a church. In the music video, lesserafim dances in revealing clothes on an altar and also shows that religious items are replaced with the lesserafim logo, even with an eye symbol, leading people to speculate that it is related to the Illuminati.

so like in the middle of the video, the girls were brushing their hair and i think they tried to make their voice a little bumpy and the auto tune they used wasn’t blended in 🤷♀️ but they sing so good without it there’s no point of putting auto tune
The mv itself is amazing except the fact they are dancing in a church, yes its a replica but its still a replica of a HOLY place, i dont know what the director was thinking but all of the other shots were quite cool

Churches are used as filming locations every day. Churches have corporate sponsors and host gambling festivals. Christianity has been depicted in secular art for centuries, it’s a staple of western culture to do so. No serious adult Christian thinks that churches are sacred spaces where non-religious things can’t happen. Especially when this one is literally just a separate film studio attached to a church. This is just Kpop stans doing what Kpop stans do trying to attack other groups, or they are immature children who have a misinformed opinion on everything they don’t fully understand.
