it is a mental thing, watch these highlights vs regular season, he is so much more decisive and calm in preseason, as is expected tbh but i think if he gets comfortable the kid could cook

It’s just preseason and all and they’re not playing the best players but the Steelers offense seemed like it could do no wrong. Starting O went 5/5 with touchdowns I believe.

Pitt fans aren't that surprised. I knew Kenny had that clutch factor like Ben, just as confident, but smarter with decision making. ngl, y'all know Big ben had some bonehead throws. Kenny is DIFFERENT, and the AFC North crown will be back where it belongs. I bet his TD/INT ration will be top 5 this year. KP drops DIMES. Period! D will be top 3 Dominant this year.

No surprise. Pickett is the best 2nd year QB Steelers ever had. He was the most prepared seasoned rookie they ever had. More accurate & efficient than any QB at this stage ever. Bradshaw didn't look this good his 2nd year nor did Roethlisberger. Pickett will take this team where Roethlisberger failed the past 13 years & that's deep into post season.
Roethisberger did bring the Steelers to a Super Bowl win in his 2nd season so Pickett will have to do that before we can say similar but I agree that Pickett is looking great.
@@AndrewTheKingOfPenguins Oh hells naw. The Steelers literally won SB40 despite Roethlisberger. They had to get the ball OUT of Roethlisberger's hands into Randle El's just to get a TD pass, otherwise Steelers wouldn't have had any TD passes that day. Roethlisberger had a 23 QBR in SB40, NFL record for worst QBR in SB history for winning QB. And Roethlisberger threw a 75 yd near pick 6. Roethlisberger didn't bring them that SB. Pickett will never look that bad in a SB.
@ehrren7228 true Ben didn't have a great SB nor was he as far along as Pickett is now in his 2nd year but Ben had a great playoffs and season. Lot of clutch throws. He just had a bad Sb game.
@@ronaldmckee7542 No, Roethlisberger just wasn't as good as Pickett. There's a reason Pickett was a Heisman finalist at Pitt & holds ALL Pitt's passing records, breaking Marino's marks. Pickett is a complete QB, got wheels. Roethlisberger didn't. Roethlisberger was lazy, fat, outta shape, no work ethic. Pickett complete opposite. And remember, Steelers had to bring in Todd Haley Roethlisberger's 9th season to literally teach Roethlisberger how to play QB from the pocket. Pickett more than knows how from day 1.
@ehrren7228 yeah, coming out Pickett was more NFL ready than Ben was. Ben had more innate talent. Just bc Pickett is more nfl ready though doesn't mean he will be as great as Ben. Only time will tell that. A HOF career is not that common, especially from the QB position. Pickett had a strong finish last year and some clutch moments. But he still needs to prove he is a starting caliber nfl qb this year. He had a full offseason and all the 1st team reps in camp and now has a full season to display what he can do. I'm excited but also trying to manage expectations.
I like Kenny's progress but many qbs have looked good this preseason wait till big boy ball starts things will change .he will still do well but there's a big difference when you know your only gonna play a sieres or two then a full 60 minutes.and defenses will show alot more

I think Kenny can be great. The 2 biggest factors IMO as to whether this is a top offense is if (1) the offensive line can be solid and if (2) diontae johnson can be consistent. He has issues with big drops and running backwards after the catch. If those 2 things work out, Najee and Warren can be a top rb duo, and friermuth is an incredible pass catcher for a TE. And pickens is a legit threat to be a top 5 receiver in the league.

From a Steelers fan. Only other team I truly respect in the AFC North is the Ravens. Always, always, always hated the Bengals and the Browns, but Steelers vs ravens is always a banger. It will be the ravens vs Steelers in the divisional round and the bengals gonna have a bad season and browns gonna be the browns.
Pickett to Pickens is poetic & makes sense. Get used to it !

The preseason hype train is sure real, lol. Preseason is where good coaches show off. Tomlin is that. The real season is where players show off. The Niners have had the Steelers number for the Shanny years so far. Time for the preseason to be forgotten and the first team players play. I can feel Steelers fans all praying for no Bosa but that prayer isnt going to be answered, lol.
Canada is the problem….he will have to improvise, in game, like Big Ben did to have success.

@Boblib1970 yeah he had the second longest time to throw in the league last season and it's still long in this video. These aren't 3 step drops he's waiting a while before he throws it.
@@brandenhill8426 yeah because EVERY play in the NFL is designed to be a three step drop. Sometimes you have to let the play develop. And both TD passes were exactly him throwing the receiver open.

What is impressive is that he had 1 incompletion, the other was a throw away to avoid a negative play. The entire offense has looked dominant, and the defense even more so.
Lol cmon man. This was an objectively impressive performance. Kenny looks much improved throwing the ball and the chemistry he has with his receivers is palpable.
