When CMC got traded to the Niners last year, Jimmy Garoppolo was the starting QB. Brock Purdy was the one with CMC trying to teach him the playbook. So when Jimmy got hurt and Brock Purdy started last season, him and CMC already had that connection. And now with a full offseason for both of them as starters in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, this season should be a treat.. hope they can stay healthy thats all i ask for 😭

What a game for Brandon Aiyuk! Pancaked the safety on the Christian McCaffery Touchdown.
5' 9" 190 lb. Ray-Ray running across the field and driving 6'1" 203 lb. Patrick Peterson backwards almost 20 yards, almost into the EZ was also outstanding on the CMC 65 yd. TD run. 49ers have the best blocking WR's in the league. BA, R-R, Jauan, Deebo, now Ronnie Bell - they're all very physical players.
Nah man what struck me was the intelligence of not spearing the guy but just simply getting in the way to avoid penalties. Aiyuk could’ve cracked another dude if he wanted to as well

The last time I saw a guy that calm and decisive in the pocket he was wearing #12 for the Patriots. The kicker being tha purdy is clearly more athletic than Brady ever was. If he manages to stay healthy this kid could easily become something really special.

Seahawks fan here. 49ers are so freaking good. Brock Purdy is so underrated, I don’t even know how that’s possible at this point. Such a great team and such good coaching. Obviously rooting for the Seahawks every game but the one team that I fear are the 49ers.
Aiyuk is amazing. That fact this is such a star studded but that they play so gritty, playing hard like underdogs is amazing.

I’ve watched every single game that Purdy has started and he has it all. He had amazing accuracy, he can use his legs to extend plays and he has wayyyy better pocket awareness than Jimmy. He came back today and played as if nothing happened and didn’t skip a beat. Love seeing that from a young guy like him given the injury he had the last time he was on an NFL field. Hopefully he can stay healthy and lead the Niners all the way!❤️💛

It's been hard to be a Steelers fan since Tomblin took over. Ever since he took Bill Cohers team to win the Super Bowl, his Steeler team has been on a slow, downward spiral . The talent he's had in his early years should have afforded him a better outcome, but that has even gone away. This Steelers organization is looking at a long trip in the wilderness . It may take a Chuck Knoll resurrection.

I am a Niners fan living in PA. My wife a life long Steelers fan. Took her to her first Steelers game this game. She was not happy. The fans were awesome, me being a Niners fan in their house. Beautiful stadium. Loved seeing the Niners clicking as a team. Steelers looked out of sync. Except Watt. That guy is an animal and it was cool to see him play so hard all day. Aiyuk was amazing, McCaffrey and Purdy. Keep it going.

Takes a little time for college kickers to adjust to the NFL field since the hashes aren't as wide as a college field. Moody was the best kicker in college football last year and the MVP of the East West game. Dude has all kicking records at Michigan. I saw him missing kicks in preseason and just knew that once he figures it out, he will be good. Dude has a good leg and it looks like he is picking up confidence.

wide receivers' downfield blocking has been a standard operating procedure in 49ers
playbook since the Bill Walsh era ... so much so that I'm convinced it is intentional
part of the way they design their passing game & has been since the '80s. Jerry Rice
and John Taylor were both committed to downfield blocking until the play ended.

6:40 CMC is the best running back in the league. He's also one of the best WRs too. The cherry on top is that he can play QB also. CMC has a special set of skills that no other RB in the league has. He's one of the MVPs of the Niners.

I love that the 9ers were pretty dominant in this game and I didn't get to watch most of it but judging by the highlights, I hope Purdy starts to spread this ball around a little more than I saw. They have so many weapons, let's utilize those.
There's something so magical about watching the niners offense. My favorite is watching their receivers block for each other. Feels like their offense functions as one living organism.
Aiyuk really shined this game. Fantastic route running for 2 TD's, blocking, and snapped Peterson's ankle's. Great start to the season!

This pash rush is really impressive, Ferrell looked really solid out there and ofc Jackson had three sacks. Having the interior pressure from hardgrave and armstead is something we haven't seen since 2019. Along with better linebacker and safety play, I believe this defense is better than 2019's defense.

@@maxb1985 Yes they were. I was there as well with my wife who is a Steelers fan. I wore nothing but Niner gear for 4 days. Not only did the fans treat us foreigners to Pitt with respect, the whole city did as we toured the city. Even the tailgaters were cool.
It's so fun watching the 49ers play football. I'm not even a fan, but I love how they just click all around. Brock Purdy is doing an amazing job leading down the field. Awesome game. I'm sure we'll be watching them in the Superbowl. 👏

Purdy back shoulder TD to Aiyuk was a great catch, but one of the most pinpoint accurate throws youll see
The other pinpoint accurate pass from Purdy that caught my attention was a crossing pattern by BA at 1:53 - caught perfectly in full stride, that set up some good YAC. Could not have been handed to BA better.

49ers looking strong. Purdy with a super impressive opening game. Threaded the needle to aiyuk. And aiyuk definitely stepping up. I hope they stay healthy. Get the ball out a little quicker. On the defensive side that could have been like a 4 interception game almost. Solid performance. Need George kittle healthy and even though I think CMC is a great fit for this offense I do want to see a 2nd rb that can help share the load.

Nope, they just beat up on a really terrible team. Steelers need to move on from Mike, Mike has been good but it's time. Steelers are fighting to just not be in last place in AFC North this year. It won't shock me if Steelers end up with a top 5 pick in the NFL draft.

I'm a steelers fan and it was a tough loss. But, I must say Purdy played like he's been playing as a starter like he's been doing it for years. He got his chance, worked hard, made sure it won't go away until he retires. Well done sir, we'll done. 👏
That was what was so freakish about Purdy last year. He was the last pick in the draft and played like a seasoned vet the minute he had to fill in for Jimmy.
Most rookie QBs are terrible, even first round picks. Even Joe Montana wasn't great his first year.

His poise and calmness and accuracy looked veteran in the pre-season games and was why they cut Nate Sudfeld, who had been a good QB2 for years before Trey Lance and Brock Purdy came on board. That cutting of Nate, who knew the playbook well, was risky and significant and seemed to go under the radar and under-reported at the time. But that demonstrated that the coaches saw what we all saw in those impressive early pre-season games. And then Purdy studied and practiced his as* off for the next few months, and came on the field READY when Jimmy went down. Awesome story.
