the boys are from holostars, the male branch of hololive. they are not as popular or well known as the girls but they are as funny and endearing if you give them a chance.
I'm really interested in their content. I haven't seen much because I do see the girls highlighted a bit more (their content is great still!) I just know less about them. I'll definitely give them a shot.
The guys just are a bunch of bros hanging out having fun

They do actually dance, and take dance lessons for concerts or 3D anniversary.
And it is during those concerts where Yagoo stops crying from sadness... temporarily.
Really?! That's actually cool. I'll deep dive into it. I assumed all animated but that's good to know!
Some things to know!
-The home 3d mocap they have is really janky compared to the one in the studio so when you see jank it's usually not the studio one.
-When they say offcollab what they mean is playing together IRL in the same room.
-They also debut in hololive in what we call generations so 1st gen of HoloEN is Myth, 2nd gen is Promise (used to be Council but Sana graduated and Irys was added) and 3rd gen is Advent for example
-All of them have managers from the company and what they usually call them is Mane-chan but some of them have been given nicknames.

They actually do Dances in their Concerts, Some of it might be prerecorded (like recorded before animated after) but they still dance, You can actually even see the Improvements of the others as well. Im not saying they were bad before but they improved. They even have a one stream that they dance practiced as a Group for the New Year Concert that they Had

They do sometimes collab with vtubers (and even non vtubers), but everyone in this video is with Holo, whether its Hololive or Holostars.
They do indeed do their own dancing via mocap. Some of them are really good too, with the best Holo dancer generally considered to be Bae (the red haired rat girl with the Australian accent). Kiara is also really good at dancing though and on the JP side the best is probably Laplus, the small girl with the giant horns from the second clip from Calli's English conversation practice series.
Speaking of which i also have a big soft spot for the streams where they attempt to bridge the language gap. The Jp girls are generally really great though and there are a lot of good subtitled clips for a lot of them so definitely worth it to check out some.
As for graduations, you did hear correctly in that two of the boys featured here, Magni and Vesper did indeed graduate from the company. On the girls side, Sana (the other Australian girl, from the 'glowing balls' clip) has also sadly graduated. And on the JP side, the blonde vampire girl at 15:42 was fired for a contract violation earlier this year. Everyone else is still around.
The guys at 1:15 are Regis Altare ( Blue hair) and Magni Dezmond. But magni retired and afaik is currently continuing his own yt channel as an idependent conten creator.
At 5:40 Ame acts in one of her alter egos. She used her lore as an timetraveling detective to expand it into different timelines and dimensions with a bunch of different versions of herself. There is Smol Ame, Bee Ame, Buff Ame (the one in the clip here. Also called Buffson), Armando (her male alter ego), Watoto (her ttrpg alter ego), Bowson (her characters in elden ring and Oblivion) and a bunch more, who only appeared in a few streams. The ones mentioned above are the ones she uses more often.
Clip at 08:00 is an english learning stream for the japanese members and there is actually no language barrier, because calli is fluent in japanese but its about teaching them english.
The guy at 9:13 Vesper Noir and he was part of the first holostars english generation together with Altare and Dezmond (the two earlier in the video) and Axel Syrios (he is the one at 21:50). But just like Dezmond he already retired and is also streaming as an independent streamer now.
At 10:10 its a joke about mumei, because she seems cute and sweet mostly but sometimes she does, says or acts totally creepy (lowkey psychopath, serial killer, diabolical nightmare stuff) and therefore its a pun on her lore. In one of her streams (maybe it was even her first one I dont remember) she played paspartout, where you play as an artist and she drew a nightmarish sleep paralysis demon and called it her friend.
11:30 Is a motion capture dance practice.
28:12 the two in the middle retired.
I suggest a vid called “Hololive EN vs Roasts funniest moments”, also if you haven’t seen it already both the girls and guys of Hololive make their own music….thats a potential new series for you.
2:42 This clip was in the 2023 video because the fan-made RPG she was playing made a reference to the moment, so they played it for context. In this video you're getting the full moment because it's the actual moment and not just a refresher.
25:45 So these aren't superchats, but marshmallow(s), a Japanese site/service that lets you submit anonymous questions like askfm back in the day. She's also wearing a heartrate monitor here because she was taking submissions for pickup lines, I think.

And Vesper Noire(Comfort streamer and shitposter), Magni Desmond (Chaotic shitposter, man's hilarious) are the members that graduated all of these buys together make up the subgroup called Tempus but Regis and Axel are considered the seniors of the group and nicknamed HQ sometimes while the other four are called Vanguard when theu collab together.

Jurard T. Rexford - Loud, funny and what kids would call a boy failure
Goldbullet - comfort streamer
Octavio - amazing singer, funny, can be cute sometimes
Crimzon Ruze - American rude boy, gives off vibes of a military vet if you know how those guys behave thats pretty much Ruze, dark and edgy comedy only sanitized enough to fit the company lol
These four make up the subgroup called Armis.
As for who to watch, I'd say check out their clips and see who you vibe with the most.
HoloStars is the male branch of Cover Corp. Sadly there are not so many clippers, compare to the Hololiver.
It's hard to find clips or compilations with only HoloStars member. I recommed you some "guide" videos:
"The Amazing Guide to Holostars" by kabukibuki ; an introduction to all HoloStars members, but it's outdated (3 years ago)
"(un)helpful guide to holostars" by kuraraan_ ; It's a more recent (6 month old) video and includes all current active members.
It's good to know how HoloStars was back then and who was in HoloStars, compare to now and all the active HoloStars

You should see Regis's 3D Live. It was actually incredible. He's hella talented. They did amazing tracking on his live cello performance and he did a real martial arts display.
I think... when you watched the 2023 one, it had the soccer moment as context for what the game was referring to with Soccer Smash.
For Worms, that was a tournament Ame organized for whoever wanted in. (At least, in the EN and ID branches. I don't know if JP was excluded or if nobody from it joined.) For one side of it, Vesper and Magni commentated, while on the other, Ame and Calli commentated.
So for the part where Dez was apparently taking off his clothes... I think they were building a computer? I think the idea is so that you don't harm your computer's parts with static, but it's not actually necessary as long as you ground yourself on something else every once in a while. (Also may depend on what you wear.)
That jingle that played when Gura's arm was drifting away in VR Minecraft is from the Moon stage of Duck Tales for the NES.
There is that dynamic, yes. I think Altare is the Holostar I've seen Kobo plsay with the most, Axel being a decent second. You should see the clip where Altare pushes Kobo around in an office chair.
Close; Kobo's lore is that she's a rain shaman. I don't think Altare has anything special to do with water in any form, though.
Oh, yeah, there are a lot of clippers who also translate for us. And for speakers of other languages!

There was a period between the last time they streamed and the time we knew anything about what they'd decided. I don't think we had any idea they weren't coming back. But if they're happier with what they're doing now, great. I know there are collab possibilities that I would've liked to see, even if they might not have happened even if they'd stayed.

All of them walking through singing and dancing lessons. I'd say this is one of differences from other vtuber agencies.

HoloStars is the branch of Cover that's about the boys, they aren't as popular as the girls, but they are an absolute riot. There's unfortunately some baggage about Idol culture where people get mad when they see boys and girls collaborating, which is incredibly stupid. The ID (Indonesian) branch doesn't seem to have that problem and is the one that collabs the most with the boys.
Of the EN boys, Magni and Vesper, the two grey-haired ones are no longer in Holo, graduating nearly a year ago.
Do you know why they formed?
Well it was a little more than that. Hoostars itself is just fine but theres a pretty good chance that the managers at the time wanted to emulate Nijis success with their males and put Hololive EN3 on hold to focus on them. The manager in charge was also the one behind the overly convulted machine translated fanfic lore behind EN2 and when EN3 was nowhere on the horizon fans started revolting. Sadly the boys got the blame instead of management and losing their two biggest members did a number on the branch

I just found you, and I'd like to suggest the HoloEN 3D Repeats. They are animated versions of various clips, made by the official Hololive English channel. You'll have seen several of the clips they choose to animate from these, but it gets much funnier when more detail is added.
