This is helpful. I just have one doubt is it better to apply jobs using college mailid or personal id?
I haven’t run an A/B test on this but generally I think it doesn’t matter as much. I think using a college email if you come from a good college can look better however the downside is you might lose access to that email account and all the connections (potential employers emails) you have gotten might get terminated once you graduate. Me personally, I used my school email when I was looking for internships but now I use a personal email with my domain extension (@raneshguruparan.com)
I think it looks more professional and I get to keep all the data with no risk of losing it
Are these interviews online or in person? Are there remote opportunities of any kind!
For the Data Science/Analytics field, most of your interviews will be online. There are a ton of remote opportunities within the field of Data. There are still some companies that hold in person interviews

I think if you are abroad and looking for an internship in the US or UK it’s going to be significantly more challenging with work visas etc. Even being an international in the us, getting internships are pretty challenging as is. There maybe opportunities but I would say the chances are slim
Having a portfolio is a great way to increase your chances

Wanted to ask , where do you apply for internships?
Hey, I use mainly Glassdoor, LinkedIn and Indeed but I also follow specific companies and check in once in awhile. Sometimes the career portal of the company you're interested is the way to go.
The video was helpful, but I've already gained three years of work experience. Do I still need to intern and then transition to a full-time job? Shouldn't I be able to secure a full-time position directly after graduation?
Hey Tharun, thats a good question. I think it depends on how well you sell yourself. You could have no experience, network and find the right people to get referrals from and ace your interviews at a nice tech company. On the other hand you could also have 3 years of relevant experience, have a resume that doesn’t pass ats scans so you never really get to see an interview..
I think if you have over 3 years of relevant experience, you should be fine so long as you follow the steps in the video. Craft specific resumes for each application using the tools mentioned (Simplify, Job-Scout, etc..) and consistently apply. The market is pretty bad right now and I have seen people with 2-3 years of internship apply for lower level internship positions at my company and still not get the job because someone overqualified decided to apply. which btech course should u take in college if u plan to be a data analyst ?
Not sure about btech specific courses but I would probably take courses that teach database management systems, sql/programming, some form of data analysis, statistics, theory and probability, data visualization etc

Yes. Leverage the analytical skills you’ve used in your banking career, modify your resume to be optimized for Data Analytics jobs, learn SQL, Python and a BI tool, do a few projects and make a portfolio, apply for Data Analyst jobs and I think you should be golden.

When is the peak time of internships opening?
From my experience, they usually have 2 main seasons where they seriously look for interns (Fall and Spring). September - March is probably where the demand really is. This obviously varies for other internships (not summer) but that’s the general trend I see
