  • Just a super short look at what happens when the magnetic gasket on a freezer door does not seal correctly or as in this case, when something in the freezer prevents the door from closing all the way. It does not take much. After this one was thawed out, it has worked for a couple of years without any problem. Dang bag of ice. So, if you encounter this kind of thing, thaw it out, make sure the door is able to close all the way tight, and let it run for a few days before you think that it is broken. An appliance tech., no disrespect intended, will probably look at this and recommend a new gasket, or even a new fridge. Do yourself a favor and verify that the door wasn't just open bit. It might save you some money. In my opinion, older appliances last much longer than some fancy new ones. Sometimes technology causes more problems than they solve. I even kind of miss having to manually thaw out the freezer back in the 60s. Scraping those ice crystals into my bowl of ice cream was the best! Ahh memories...

If you want to help me with my retirement, please consider donating to my retirement fund. There’s a {$} sort of symbol up there on the right or a “thanks” button.. Pressing that button activates the Super Thanks and allows folks to donate. or Buy Me a Coffee: buymeacoffee.c..., or here is a link to my paypal account where you can send me whatever amount you might want. www.paypal.com.... Any amount will be greatly appreciated. It would be great to be able to actually buy a project that’s not on it’s last legs, or have to rely on whatever I can salvage. Thanks for watching either way.
Have a great day. Keep in mind, if I can do it, you probably can too.
