- During the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial on Tuesday, a Depp's bodyguard started laughing uncontrollably during a sidebar and left the courtroom. This took place after multiple objections came from Depp's attorney Camille Vasquez while Amber Heard was under redirect examination from her attorney.

Oh man, it is so hard to stop when it grabs you. My brother and I experienced this at my fathers funeral. The make up person at the mortuary made him look exactly like Dracula, and when me and my bro went in for our private viewing we cracked up and couldn’t look at each other for the rest of the service. It had a lot to to with the stress we were under, but that was so bad.

Funerals be sad, and sometimes they be funny.
Sometimes people laugh when they are really nervous or times of severe emotional distress. For some reason their stress manifests as fits of laughter. They aren't trying to be disrespectful, it's just how their mind and body react in these situations. With you and your brother it's seems that you were going through this and also laughing at the situation of seeing your dad look like Dracula:) That would have made me laugh too, to see my dad looking like he was dressed for Halloween:) Lol:) So sorry for your loss.
The same thing happened at my uncle's funeral with my dad and I. As soon as I heard him suppress the laugh I started 😅
I once started laughing during a wedding while the groom was saying his vows. He starting crying. Hard. It was so quiet and so tense in the room I got the nervous giggles and couldn’t stop. I felt really bad about it until they divorced a year later.

His job is protecting Johnny. In a courtroom there's nothing he can do to protect him from the swirling accusations. Once he saw Amber's Lawyers failing miserably, he realized there is no danger to Johnny and found it hilarious.

The same thing happened to me a long time ago at a symphony. The conductor was so energetic, from the back he looked like a huge bird trying frantically to fly in a crazy cartoonish way, accompanied by this wild Disney-like music. I had to close my eyes and every time I opened them and saw this crazy guy trying to fly I would lose it again.
Edit: I should mention that I was 12 years old and this was the first time I attended a symphony. The adults around me were not amused and kept glaring at me and muttering “Ssshhhhh!” under their breath. Which, of course, made it even harder.
I’d peek and think “Oh God! He’s trying to fly again! He’s almost made it!” “Ssshhhhh!” Glare glare glare! “Must close eyes, must close eyes!” Peek again... The whole night long.

This happened to me at my Aunt's funeral. My brother, who has a bit of socially anxiety was sitting next to a lady who attended church regularly and loved to sing loudly. Part of the funeral where a song was being sung, this lady grabbed my brothers hand and started singing. The chorus hit and this lady, while holding my brothers hand raised it up in the air while easily being the loudest singer in the entire church. Out of the corner of my eye I could see my brothers face just turn beet red and he just bowed his head in acceptance of whatever attention he was getting. I lost it for the duration of the song.

I have been there. I have had uncontrollable laughing fits and they are embarrassing. To make it worse, the more you try to suppress it the worst it gets. The best thing to do is remove yourself until you gain control which is almost instant once you walk through the door.

Laughter is so contagious. I've found myself laughing uncontrollably in different situations. Being over tired or stressed can make it happen too. Sometimes you just can't help but laugh even at the most inappropriate moments.

I did this in class once. the teacher was slightly annoyed and asked why I was laughing and after I could barely get any words out she shook her head looked at the ground and started laughing too. soon the entire class was in hysterics for at least 3 min straight. 😂 grade school math class. Me and the girl in front of me, who had a very infectious laugh, starting chuckling, and once we both realized we were laughing at the same thing we both could not control it and went into that unstoppable gut busting laughter with tears and all. The teacher, an all too serious one, told us he would kick us out if we didn’t stop, but we couldn’t. I also love Kenny Rogers. It was just a moment.

Girlfriend had a rough few days at work. When she came home she was feeling down so I asked if she'd like to watch a comedy with dinner, she said it sounded perfect. I put on the Depp vs. Heard trial and we were cracking up nonstop with plenty of time for restroom breaks while the legal teams approached the bench. Perfect entertainment with dinner after a long day.

Always happens to me at night time, once I get the funny idea in my head I can't stop laughing and I just end up drenched in tears, nothing I can do about it, no will power whatsoever. Its a nice feeling, its as therapeutic as crying with sadness really.

This happened to me during a job orientation in the late 90s. When we got to the OSHA guidelines section of the orientation, the Human Resource manager inadvertently quoted the Jerky Boys, and I lost it. I regained my composure after a few minutes, only to burst out laughing again. They actually waited for me to stop laughing before they proceeded. I thought for sure I was getting canned as soon as I walked out of that room. Fortunately, that didn't happen. But I don't think it was a coincidence that my name was pulled in the first round of random drug screenings.
Edit - I apologize for not including what the HR manager actually said. I honestly wasn't expecting this kind of response, so I didn't spend too much time on it. My bad, lesson learned. The Jerky Boys line she inadvertently quoted is from a call titled "Firecracker Mishap". Here's what she said:
When the HR manager was reviewing workplace safety with us, she used the cardboard baler in the receiving area as an example of something that could be dangerous if used carelessly/improperly. She went on to say that we should keep our hands away from the baler because "It's big and your hand will not look good". All I could think about was seeing someone with their hand caught in the baler screaming "Oh boy! I really did it this time!", in the Sol Rosenberg voice.

I was in a similar yet slightly different situation in college lol. The professor was one who was known for being very serious and passionate. But while writing on the whiteboard, she kept accidentally dropping her marker and getting frazzled about it. The second or third time it happened she was visibly annoyed and made some comment like "Why do I keep dropping this marker?!" The contrast of her seriousness and then the klutziness of the situation was all very comical.
Because it was the first day of classes, the tension was high, I was incredibly nervous, *and* the professor's mishap reminded me of my own klutziness and exactly how I'd react myself, I couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Unfortunately, this made the professor even more upset and she angrily asked "Why are people laughing right now?" as if I was laughing at her, when really I was laughing *with* her because I related so hard to the chaoticness of the situation. It was like looking in a mirror but I was too scared to say "I'm only laughing because you remind me of myself."
My mini laugh attack also caused the guy sitting behind me to let out a stifled, then loud honk of a chuckle so that was fun lol

I remember in history class, we were learning about the death of jfk and my teacher played the "hello darkness my old friend" song because that was about his death. but because we were immature middle schoolers who loved memes, we didnt expect that song so my friends and i started laughing.
My friend was in the back and i was in the front. He started laughing first and i looked at my teacher and she was really mad. So that quickly shut me up lol. Then he got kicked out lol.

This happened to me while I was being pulled over by the police as soon as had spoken I went into fit's of laughter and every time he talked it set me off, me and my vehicle was searched for drugs but he knew it was his voice and he looked like Brian stelter which made it worse.
