Radio programming said they were too country for rock and roll, and too rock and roll for country. BS! Try 'Waitin' for the Thunder.' Or, my favorite, 'Pretty Little Lie' There isn't a bad one. Their latest, out next month, has some killer advance releases and they've been working with another guitarist, percussion master and two female background singers that all know how to bring it. They do not disappoint. 😎
What Blackberry Smoke shows is that there is still good music out there today... you just gotta know where to look. I'd look in the direction of Marcus King Band, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Alter Bridge
It's about time that someone reacted to this great band. Here in the U.K. rock music doesn't get played on the radio so you have to search them out yourself and Blackberry smoke is one of my favourites from recent years that I've discovered. Other great bands from recent years are The Temperance Movement, Rival sons, the Black Keys just to name a few.
Check out their song, "Hey Delilah". You will be blown away. They have added two more members to the band and have some backup singers too. One of their best ever! The new album with this song comes out next week.

Chod, they are Southern Rock! Today is the release date for Lynyrd Skynyrd's video and Cd from their best live concert from Knebworth, England in 1976. You have to listen to "Call Me the Breeze" or "T for Texas", two of their best live performances, better than Freebird!
The Smoke usually say 2001 when they "officially" started. Charlie is the lead. Paul Jackson is the main backup. Richard is on Bass and Brandon on piano/organ. They added Benji and Preston and not to forget Brit Turner, the drummer of the "original" band who is Richard's brother. Take a listen to "Dig a Hole" and/or "Little Bit Crazy", new songs on the Feb. 2024 release of the new album. Blackberry Smoke rock!

Helene here. Never heard of this band before.....great classic southern rock feel...and of course there was all that gorgeous hair! 😁. Rival Sons another band keeping it alive. And for hard rock....Greta Van Fleet. Some hate on them as being “too Led Zeppelin”...but that’s just fine with me! Glad that sound is being kept alive. If you want to sample....song is Flower Power, live at Red Rocks....

Good track but check out their later stuff. They have moved more towards rock as the years have gone by. They still play a couple country tunes on each album but now have more in common with Aerosmith. Skynyrd, The Stones Exile period than they do with country

I watched a concert of theirs on youtube a while ago. And really liked how they mixed county with rock. Great musicianship and songwriting.😁👍🤘
