This video collage that I made is from the game show, "Battlestars" that aired on NBC from October 26, 1981 to April 23, 1982.
The second version called "The New Battlestars" aired on NBC from April 4, 1983 to July 1, 1983.
The host was Alex Trebek.
The first theme is the opening theme, the second is the full version, the third is the vamp version. All composed by Mort Garson. If anyone can tell me the theme song, I will be happy to change it.
The status of both versions of Battlestars is unclear if they are either in full existence or destroyed.

The Mort Garson-composed theme song was the only one not used with synthesizers, but with a full orchestra of about 10 musicians or so. It would also be the last theme song Garson composed before his death.
I think this is therefore his best work. It is always better with real instruments.

NBC should have kept just men longer than putting the revamped show. Buy the way both shows were going up against family feud on ABC.

Sony controls the rights to all hesther merrill shows. They currently distribute a heather merrill property (catch 21)

I have a feeling that Marc Summers would be the better choice since he nearly got the job to host the 1998-2004 Hollywood Squares reboot, but lost out to Tom Bergeron. So, hosting a Squares copycat would be sort of redemption for Summers.
Or, maybe Nick Offerman, Alfonso Ribiero, Jack McBrayer, or even Brian Anderson host it.

I admit, it does sound much like music you would hear in a cartoon.
The game show that canned Card Sharks (boo-hoo) & Just Men! (hooray!).
Alex Trebek was all wrong to host this show. It was more freewheeling than serious. Peter Marshall should have hosted Battlestars. This show did not fit Alex well. He was out of his element with Battlestars. Still, I like Battlestars and it's one of my all-time favorite game shows.
